I dive with it day and night.

I dive with this light day and night. For anything under about 8 metres it really brings out the colours and details so I can really see what I'm down there to see. For crevices, underhangs, and caves its great - I spot things I wouldn't normally see. I sometimes use it as an auxillary light for my buddy's photography. For night diving, well, it's fantastic. While my buddies are straining to see something with their dim 15cm spot of light, the beam on this thing swings over like an SUV j...

Great Light BAD switch

switch failed during a wreck dive, had to use my backup, and end the dive. This is a stupid problem, bad switch on an otherwise fantastic dive light. This is a common problem, and its only a matter of when not if this switch will fail. UK should recall this light.

While my buddies are straining to see something with their dim 15cm spot of light, the beam on this thing swings over like an SUV just drove past and they think "Oh, that's better". It has low output mode if you don't want so much light. There's a bit of weight, but that's all due to carrying 8 batteries; the unit itself is lightweight. It's tough; I do shore diving in Sydney so getting bashed by waves is common. I just clip it to my BCD and it's fine. Clip and extension coil are solid. I've dropped it when washing my gear - no problem. The other thing is that I've done about 35 to 40 hours of diving with it and I haven't had to replace the batteries yet. Only small glitch is that the switch is 'buggy'. On mine it's possible to lock the mechanism to the 'off' position but it is still on (in low output mode). It's no problem since battery life is so good. i just put my hand in front to check it if its daytime then wiggle the switch and it turns off. Because it's LED you can use it above water too. I use it to spot wildlife and to find and catch the fish in my fishpond when I'm cleaning it. Of all my dive gear, this is one of the items I'm most happy I bought.

Great Dive Light Long Burn Times

By Travis A.

Great primary dive light for a night dive. We also use this light during day dives if we are entering the 1st rooms of caves.

Arrived just in time for my dive.

Great Light

By JASON G.

I have used this light for five different cavern dives and it works very well. Very bright beam and very long battery life. Havent had to change the batteries yet. I would recommend getting the 1200 Pelican case for transport between dives and also for storage. The 1200 Pelican case is the perfect size and also has room for your dive computer as well.

Great light, great price.

By Consumer

This is a great light at a great price, the led lasts forever, and you can be sure you won't break it, even in the roughest conditions. But there are better lights, for alot more money. If your looking for extreme reliability, stick with led. If your bug diving, I think this is one of the best lights, if your wreck diving, well then I don't need to tell you what you need, you should already know.

"Gets the dingy yellow out"

Very nice white light seams to make colors really stand-out.

Good value for the price

I've only used the light once since I bought it but was pleased with its performance.

Like the light just wish you could get the same beam and intensity in a more compact form

Used it in the quarry up to 90 foot but when I went on a boat to 100 foot it flooded

By DOUG M.

from Jim Thorpe , PA, US

Work good in the quarry but when I used it on a deep dive it flooded the first time I used it

Switch doesn't work well.

By jollygood2000

The switch stopped working after only a couple months so the light would not turn on. After a week of correspondence with customer support they acknowledged there was a known issue with the switch so they paid for return shipping and sent me a replacement. The same thing happened with the replacement. I paid to ship it back and they credited my account which I used to buy a different light.

What's the difference between this one and the plus one? Thanks.
A shopper on Nov 3, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Not sure if your comparing the UK C8 with the added Pelican Case and the one without...........but the only difference would be the case. (but that seems too simple)

I have the C8 and the case, nice set up, but I also recently bought the the new C4 eLed plus, some new bulb technology.

The C4 eLed plus has the aame useable brightness as the older C8 LED, but requires 1/2 the batteries and seems last about the same amount of time.

Been hunting lobsters off the coast of California for the last month, have 12 - one hour night dives on both lights (buddy is using the C8) I prefer the smaller C4, lighter and we'll see which one gives up on batteries frist. But as of now, they seem to be performing equally but probalby getting close to needing new batteries.

Picked up a packaged deal C4 eLed plus with the mini Q40 eLed plus for about $100 at a local shop, Lobster Night Opener Sale. (was not the turtle pack) Original intention was to get a back up light, which was accomplished, with the bonus of a new primary.

Hope this helps....the plus technology seems to be worth it.
Is it safe to change battery on light about 25 years old? What type of battery would work. Can bulb be changed to led?
A shopper on Jan 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes. Safe to change if necessary. LED would require major surgery and not worth the effort; cheaper to buy a new torch.
I lost my Manual. How to you change the Batteries again??
KeyzzDzz on Dec 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Unscrew the black light housing and the batteries are behind it.
Is this light rechargeable?
A shopper on May 24, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this light is rechargable with the use of the NiCad battery pack and charger.
How many lumens is this light?
A shopper on May 24, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Ratef for 257 lumens.
