ScubaPro Classic is the only way to dive!

By Shawn K.

When I first started diving, I tried dozens of different BCDs. Honestly, they all seemed pretty much the same to me. Then I tried a ScubPro Classic. It took less than 10 minutes in the water to decide that I would never dive with any other BCD. The buoyancy and stability characteristics are amazing, permitting effortless control and movement. Many divers object to the Classic's design; they think it's too bulky. But once you're in the water, nothing else compares.

I am a professional Inspection diver and this is the BC I use. I am completely happy with it's control, function and durability. I have also had multiple initeractions with Scubapro and find their service and customer support to be outstanding.

The Classic+Air 2 Suffers Critical Flaws

By mauibob

While I like the Classic/Air2's buoyancy stability, efficiency and control; the proliferation of pinhole leaks in the bladder and, particularly, the Air 2 housing & tube renders it useless after 80 to 100 dives (obviously based on my experience) diving year round on Maui. In addition, with inadequate service locally, and no alternative on their website (which rates a zero in my opinion for customer care)they rate a fair to poor for customer service.I expect more from a company that charges over [$] for a BC/octo and markets it as a "pro" level model. If it's flaws were cosmetic, no worries, but springing multiple leaks is serious, life threatening stuff.

Looking for some advice on sizing for the Classic BCD…
I’m 5’-7”, 40” chest, 32” waist, 155 lbs….which seems to be right on the edge of small and medium.
Typically do warm water recreational diving. Prefer to dive without a wetsuit, but will occasionally wear a 5mm suit.
Should I go up or down on size?
Any advice would be helpful, thanks!

BEST ANSWER: I would recommend the small, particularly if you plan on wearing thin suits or no suit at all
what is Air2? What is the difference between this and the regular scubapro classic bcd?
A shopper on Jul 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Air 2 is an integrated inflator with octopus. That is the only difference between the two.
