Perfect for what I bought it for.

Bought to wear over a full length 3/2 for diving in the Galapagos cold water sites. Perfect for this. VERY easy to take on/off. Fit perfectly over the 3/2. May be a little uncomfortable by itself due to the front zipper design, but can't beat the ease of on/off when worn over the other suit. Killer value.

Well made

By todd

I use this over a 3mm merino lined suit for cold water diving

Awesome extra thermal protection!

By 1wet1

I was a little nervous as I am a little shorter and a little rounder and I thought it wouldnt fit. It fits perfectly and added 5 mils to my core thermal protection. It is easy to get in and out of and is very flexible and comfortable to wear.

Product returned...

By Scuba T.

Being a taller / larger guy, I found this difficult to get in to / out of. I like the concept and if Pinnacle would design this exact same shorty with the zipper in the back (hint, hint), I'm buying one. I just didn't like the front zipper on my thigh and I needed help getting out of it. Someone had to pull the shorty down off my shoulders in order to start the process of taking it off.

Excellent Layering Product and Alone as a Shorty

It accomplished what I wanted it to

By DragonLo

I bought this for extra exposure protection. At times a 7mm just doesn't cut it and can take away the enjoyment of a dive. I was able to try this out this weekend and it performed like a champ. The water was cold enough that others complained about the temperature, especially on the first dive at 8 am. The extra 5mm provided me 12 mm of protection on the upper arm, where I tend to feel the effects of the cold when diving. The dives were very comfortable, thus the jacket was well worth the price. Extra weight will be needed, in my case it was worth the price of admission.

Leg zip difficult

By RONALD H.

Could not start zipper without protecting my leg from getting pinched. Seemed to run a bit small. Sent it back.

Love my wide-boy shorty.

Most 3xl suits are too long for me. This King 1 shorty meets all my needs, South Pacific, FL Keys, Carribean and Gulf side of FL.

By FABIO M.

I am 6’5” x 250 lbs, it fits me perfectly on top of two shark skin shirts and pants. I have tried the 7 mm with the hood but I had to return it since it was too Short on the torso

Great quality.

I get cold fast while swimming, expecially when the weather is o the cold side and the clouds block the sun. This does a good job keeping me warm.

Great shortie

By LARRY L.

from Schenectady, NY, US

I love Pinnacle suits. I have a 3mm full and it works like a semi dry. This shortie is the same. I love it too. I now have 3 shorties. One back zip, one front zip, and the front zip Pinnacle. The back zip is hard to get into and get zipped up. The other front zip is very hard to get out of without help. The Pinnacle is very easy both on and off. No assistance needed. And it is warm. I got it mainly for snorkeling cold water. But since water exchange is so low I'm going to try it on shallow cold water dives.

I have a front zip shortie but it's a bit hard to get out of because the zipper is too short. With the full front zipper This shortie will be easy to get on and off without assistance. I have a Pinnacle 3mm full suit and it is top notch so I'm sure this shortie will be high quality as well.

price and design. Great shorty and fits well except for the fact it's made for someone a lot taller than me.

will a 5MM shortie over a 5mm one piece be sufficent exposure protection in 45 degree water?
A shopper on Sep 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I used the Pinnacle over a 4/3 one-piece with 3mm hooded vest for freedive spearfishing in Washington State. Temps here range between 46 in winter and 54 in summer. I wore the Pinnacle in winter and was able to stay in the water for 3 to 4 hours before I got too uncomfortable. I now have a 5mm two-piece open-cell freedive suit so I haven't had to use the Pinnacle recently.
Is this stretch material?
Aaron F on Oct 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Mine is 3mm neoprene. it stretches the same as any 3mm or 5mm wet-suit would. I am a bit wider than most so I really like the King sizes Pinnacle offers that others do not. In other suits i have to go 3XL or 4XL and they say I should be 6' 7" tall. I wish, but sadly i am not.
What is the positive buoyancy of this wetsuit?
Reeds on Mar 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I wear the King 1 which fits me great. I am short and wide at 5'9" and 275 lbs. I dive with 12 lbs in fresh water, 18 to 20 lbs open ocean and 24 lbs Gulf-side of FL. I do not have to adjust weight based on my shorty vs a rashgard. I would say the buoyancy variation in imperceptible.
I need to know what sizes these fit for both men and women. Also, we are wearing these alone and over a 3mm suit. Any idea how to find out what size to purchase?
A shopper on Jun 13, 2012
BEST ANSWER: I googled "pinnacle wetsuit size chart" to determine which size to buy. I am 5'10", 190 pounds, 34" waist, and the large fits fine. During summer I wear a 3mm vest with attached 5mm hood under a 5/4/3 one-piece suit. During winter I add the 5mm step-in vest over the top. Water temp here (Pacific NW) is between 35 and 50 degrees. Without the step-in, I need 9 pounds on the weight belt. When I add the step-in, I need 12 pounds. I've never worn the step-in by itself. The material is very stretchy and easy to put on over the other suit.
