Stinky belt with strong rubber odor.

Have been buying these belts for years however the last one I bought a few weeks ago stinks like a hell. The rubber has very strong odor which doesn’t go away even after two weeks and it feels different than my previous Omer belt. Unless Omer changes the rubber part don’t buy.

Great Belt

By DOUGLAS P.

Doesn't slip at all! I was a little concerned about the plastic buckle, but it has exceeded my expectations. I use this belt for recreational free diving. I highly recommend it!

Rubber belt is better.

By CHRISTOPHER P.

Rubber weight belt is the way to go for deeper dives. It allows you to take deeper breaths because it stretches and because you can place it lower than your waist or belly (where the nylon ones usually go) and it will stay there. The nylon belts won't stay below the waist line when inverted and less as you dive deeper.

Great for free diving

Great price. Easy to deal with.

Good Belt

Nice belt but I had to cut the sides down because the belt would not release when unclipped

Omer weight belt

By Christopher P.

The weight belt is great. I am a big guy and I barely have enough belt to get it buckled. I wish they made them longer so we could trim them. Would rate 5 stars if we could custom order lengths.

Don't buy this

By Neal L.

The belt was about 1-2 mm too wide for the buckle or Standard weights. The coating came off the buckle after handling it for a while. I would have returned it, but the packaging was gone with the trash. So, I replaced the buckle with a spare, cut the neoprene by about 2 mm and now it works. Not a good product. Leisurepro should stop selling it.

BEST ANSWER: It's hard to describe in words, but it is adjustable beyond just threading the end you can't see in the photo through the buckle. The end of the belt that you see in the photo is threaded through the buckle. You can slide the buckle along the belt to the right, with the end of the belt hidden in the photo by the buckle coming out to the left. This effectively shortens the belt. You can then trim off the extra.
can this belt be used with the pass through coated weights (like the bullet shaped weights)? For experience some rubber belts are too thick to pass through.
A shopper on Nov 1, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Sorry, but I bought the belt as a present and I use the coated weight in my sea quest intergrated pouches. I like the weights, no lead residue. I suppose if you asked a tech person at leisure pro and if the items are in stock someone could see if the belt goes through the weights, good luck!

How lone is the actual rubber belt?
Lloyd R on Sep 17, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Sorry cannot answer that, bought as a gift for my cave guide in Playa Del Carmen. She did say she was happy with quality of the belt.
How long is the belt and how much weight will it hold?
Dennis M on Feb 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Quite a bit. I have used it in fresh and salt water and needed to put varying amounts on it. It is a very tough belt. I cannot recall how many pounds I have on it now, but it was able to handle whatever I put on it. I have a 36-38 inch waist, and it fits me comfortably inside a farmer john 5mm suit. I will have to get specs for you later and re-email you. Sorry for being vague.
how wide is the belt?
dennis b on Jul 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: 2 inches. Its a standard weight belt size.
Does the Omer rubber belt with the plastic buckle have the same rubber material as as the classic Omer freedive belt? (Are the elastic properties the same btwn the two belts?)

BEST ANSWER: The rubber is the same. I like the one with the metal buckle far more. As it would be easier to grab for an emergency ditch of the weights.
How much weight is the belt?
A shopper on May 24, 2011
BEST ANSWER: The belt itself weighs .45 lbs, it is certainly capable of holding much more weight than that.
