can I use for recreational kayaking or is just for emergency?
A shopper on Aug 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I would not. Kayak PFDs are cut specifically for freedom of movement of the upper body, with the bulk of flotation in the lower part of the PFD. This makes for ease of paddling.
Also during a wet exit of a kayak this Pfd would auto inflate each time you went in the water. Rearming co2 can be a bit pricey.
I use mine for solo sailing or when things get rough with others on board.
Can you wear the life jacket while it's raining?
A shopper on Jun 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have not had it in the rain but if the bobbin gets wet the jacket will inflate! The bobbin is inside by the co2 cartridge and is covered by the outer flap.
Once it is submerged how long does it take to inflate?
Bill D on Nov 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It inflates immediately and rapidly once submerged. We rinsed one with a hose by mistake once and it inflated straight away.
are theses good for sailing on the ICW...lakes ?
mark m on Aug 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I’ve use this jacket primarily for bay sailing and occasional inshore waters of Lake Erie. It fits the bill.
What color is it when it opens up?
Dave J on Mar 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Gray with a bold fluorescent green stripe
Does this have a bobbin or is it hydrostatic?
Corey M on Nov 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It will inflate should you fall into the water. It also has a pull tab to inflate and can be inflated by blowing to it. I own two. Well made, low profile and comfortable.
