Great Computer

This is a great beginner computer, probably fine for anybody but I bought two of these for my 12 year old boys and they picked them right up. Easy to use, navigate, etc, but what most impresses me is the completeness of the log function! I don't think I've seen any other computer that gives you tank pressure at beginning and end of dive! Very impressed

Decent

I bought two of these - wife and me - for use as our SPG with a new reg setup. We wear secondary wrist computers as well, and for the cost of these, it is worthwhile to have 2 computers. Have about 50 dives on them since purchasing 3 months ago, so we have used them a fair amount. They're reliable and provide most all features needed of a dive computer, compass, SPG, and bottom timer. My complaints/suggestions: If you go below 50 bar, you will not get a 3 minute safety stop countdown. I f...

Secondary computer

By KEVIN C.

from Fairfax, VA, US

I havenâ??t dove with it yet, but I like the one touch ease of use right of the bat. It will be used as a secondary computer to my primary (oceanic wrist integrated). Diving with it in Cozumel at the end of January!!

SImple and well priced!

By Jacob E.

Can't complain about this. I only dive a handful of times every year so didn't want to spend a fortune and don't need a lot of fancy features but did want the air integration so I only have to look at one gauge rather than multiple. This fits the bill perfectly! This along with LeisurePro service can't beat it.

Although I have not used the computer in water yet, (this weekend I will be ) reading and setting up the functions have been easy... Has all the bells and whistles I need.

I used this on one dive trip so far, but it is very easy to use. I would recommend this product.

Mares Puck Air

By Bubbales

This is a really nice computer, especially for the price. It makes air integration affordable. I've used this computer on 5 dives and couldn't be happier with it.

Product worked perfectly and for the price "AWESOME".

How can you beat this price?

By CJP

Great for an Air Integrated Computer, works very nicely, a few little things that take some getting use to but overall very nice for the price.

Excellent Computer

By Moriarty

Figures/ascent bar graph was simple and easy to read. The low air alarm is helpful. Figures could be a bit conservative. One control button makes it simple to use. Compass is small but works. Had a great dive thanks to this (despite poor conditions).

EASY to use!!!

By MIKE S.

from Craig, CO, US

The single button operation is very intuitive. As I was checking it out in the store, it took me only a couple of minutes to figure out how to adjust the nitrox settngs without any instructions(setting the nitrox was my biggest complaint with our previous Suunto computers- three different models and each was different (and difficult) to set up). The algorithms seem to be fairly typical-I ran both the Puck and my old computer for several dives for comparisson as well as comparing to my buddy's constantly throughout the dives and the NDC times were all withing a couple of minutes of each other. Dive planning is pretty straight forward, still seems like it could be easier, but I can't say specifically what I would change. The physical size, even with the compass, is fairly compact compared to alot of other computers available. My one complaint with the Puck is that it does not display max depth while diving, I got used to having that and miss the information. All-in-all I love the Puck, bought 3 for my wife, granddaughter and myself for standardization-so that it would be the same to set everyone's up. I'll probably get one for my daughter-in law as well. Techno/dive geeks my desire more features, but for recreational divers like us that only make a few trips a year-maybe 60-80 dives, it would be hard to beat IMHO.

Good intuitive computer

This is the second one of these I had purchased. I purchased them for my son and daughter. The single button access method is easy to do with a gloved hand even in low light conditions.

My husband and brother-in-law both have this computer and have used it for many years. Mares is still making it and it's the same model - to me that tells me it has stood the test of time with no need to improve it.

Doe this computer adjust for/calculate altitude automatically? I dive in Lake Tahoe which is above 4k feet.
Thomas S on Sep 16, 2012
BEST ANSWER: It doesnt have a barometer in it to measure altitude so you have to manually enter that information into it but it will calculate your off gassing from there at the altitude you enter. I have used mine at 9000 feet diving a small mountain lake and it was more conservative than using my RPD and altitude tables but I always run them anyway as I have plenty of time waiting for aclimation to altitude.
Can I change setting to meters and bar display setting? Thanks.
A shopper on Feb 19, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes you can. I am from Brazil and here I use meters and Bars. Regards.
Does the Mares Air Puck have the quick disconnect feature?
A shopper on Mar 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No it doesn’t. You could not add an aftermarket QD with the way the plastic case is designed without major modifications.
I am a little confused as to which model is which & what features it has. Doe's it have a salt/freshwater setting? I can't navigate or find instruction manual online..
ART N on Mar 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it was fresh/salt water options, air/EAN options and altitude options.. its a good little computer.. Mares has the manual online. go to this address and scroll down to PUCK, then select the EN version.. Well, they won't let me post a link, so go to Mares site - mares dot com and click the manuals link, computers, then scroll to the Puck..
Is this item water activated?
Micah B on Jul 10, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Yes. It activates when you start diving. I think around 5 ft.
Does this Mares Computer Console calculates the Air Time Remaining?
A shopper on May 24, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the Puck Air calculates air time remaining at a current depth.
What is the warranty and does it transfer if sold after purchase?
A shopper on Mar 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: 24 Month manufacturer's warranty. Non-transferable, Original purchaser only.
what is the difference between mares puck air console #skumrspacc & mission puck 3 3 sku#mrsmp3cc ? $529.95 or 369.95
ART N on Mar 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Puck air console is all digital for air pressure and computer.
Mission puck 3 is digital only for computer and analog needle for air pressure. I have the puck air which is way better!!!
what is the difference between Mares puck air console #sku mrspacc $529.95 & MaresMission puck 3 console #sku mrsmp3cc $369.95 ?
ART N on Mar 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: MRSPACC is an air integrated computer with digital pressure readout.
MRSMP3CC is not air integrated, and has an analog pressure gauge with a Puck computer.
I have a puck air... works great. 2 questions: first, is there a quick disconnect/release for it... second.... why are all my dive profiles red (going up... or down and I no I am not going up that fast all the time!!) when I up-load in Dive log 5? I already did set it so it is not the most conservative settings. Thanks.
A shopper on Jul 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Mares does not make a QD for it. Not sure why profiles are showing up like that. That usually indicates ascending too quickly.
Does it have a max depth alarm?
Carlos M on May 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It absolutely won't let you go below what charts allow without beeping and letting you know.. and if you screw up and go below depth and violate decompression, it will automatically require you to do a longer safety stop - it tagged us for a 7 minute safety stop a year ago.. Also, I would say in comparison to other people we've dove with, its more conservative than other computers, requiring us to retreat to higher depths faster than others on a second or third dive.. But, I don't mind it being conservative as that keep me out of the chamber.. we just got nitrox certified a couple of weeks ago and are about to test its nitrox capabilities in 3 weeks.. Good luck!
