Love this BCD

My wife and I each got one and we love them. Super comfortable, easy to get in and out of, tons of clips and pockets for gear, pockets easy to access (not too high and awkward to unzip without contorting yourself like some other BDCs we've used) and the i3 lever is so simple and works so well we can't imagine going back to the old over the shoulder hose. What a joy it is to dive with a product so well made and thought out.

Too expensive for how long it lasts

I had mine for 4 years, maybe had 200 or so dives on it, paid $700, then the bladder tore and the inflator/deflator mechanism was also found to be inoperative. It was sent to AquaLung for repairs and they wouldn't fix it, There were many things I loved about this BCD, but the fact that it doesn't last outweighs all of them. I thought it was only mine, but after talking to others they have had the same problems.

Now for something different!

By Richard S.

I bought this on sale without trying it on first through LP, so I knew I could return it. I wasn’t sure I would like the inflator, integrated weight and the size of the BC. It first appeared to be much bulkier than what I was used to. The integrated weight system definitely adds bulk. After using this BC for the first time shore diving in Bonaire, I really liked my choice. The tank attachment is awesome. Very easy and secure without Velcro. Easy to adjust tank height. Comfort was amazing on land to Carry tank around. The inflator/deflator was great! So simple and natural on the surface and making adjustments underwater. Push down to go down. Pull up to inflate. Underwater I had easy to control boyancy with freedom of movement. Weights kept balance and tank weight pockets when added weight was needed. It was easy to accessorize and carry other safety gear like lights, signal sausage, line spool compass , etc. multiple D-rings places in the right places. I’m 5’10” and 190 lbs I got the M/L size and it fit well. Maybe I could have used a M , but I felt good with this size. As I started with, it’s a little bulkier than my last BC mostly because of the weight integration, but the snap in tracks for the weight integration are easy and very secure. I used a weight belt for 12 years , so having the weight integration adds weight to the BC for donning and doffing and tank changes and lugging it around. It’s just different. Overall, I really like this BC. In water performance (where it really matters) it was great. Loved the inflator control out front.

Pretty Awesome

Amazing deal on an amazing BCD!

By John S.

Was looking for an I3 from my local dive store, but since a new version of the product was coming soon in-store inventories were low. Purchased from Leisurepro just in time for a trip to the Bahamas and best BCD I've ever used! Side inflation/deflation valve is intuitive and easy to use for beginners and experienced divers. Highly recommend this product and purchasing from Leisurepro.

Still great after more than 400 dives

Easy to use, intuitive

By hvguy

When I first saw this about 2 years ago I thought to myself... WHAT A GREAT IDEA! Its a basic BCD with the clip in weights in the front and weight pouches in the back near the tank. However there is no inflation controls floating around constantly in your face, everything is located on your left side just above your hip. Ive used mine for over 50 dives and everything is like the day I bought it. (velcro, clips, rings, weight pockets etc) You will need to measure the length inflation hose and buy one separate that fits your size. I use a suunto dive watch with pressure transmitter with this. There are also stainless rings on the chest straps to hang gear like a big UK flashlight or a pad to write on. the right side has a zip pouch where I mounted my dive knife. If you lift the zipper pouch, a large fold out pouch comes out. VERY hand for storing things like a lift bag or whatever you find on your dive.

Love the inflate/deflate!

By jfksdca

Love not having to worry about the position of the release tube when wanting to deflate the vest. Easy to get in and out of.

Excellent BC

Very comfortable and easy to operate.

Great BCD to manage buoyancy control!

By Grant W.

Moving to the integrated power inflate switch was an easy move and one I don't regret. It's took only a few dives to get comfortable with it. Venting is fantastic and roll is all but eliminated.

Hi,
How would you size yourself for this specific BC? I am unsure if I am a Med.-Large or Large. I might even be an XL.
Thanks,
S
SERGE M on Mar 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I normally wear a large for t shirts and things like that. So I bought the large. It fit well for the most part. It was a little loose in the waist. I had the waist strap as tight as it could go. It functioned very well under water.
I just got done diver on the big island in Hawaii five two tank boat dives. They were all good. I did find that the air release was a little more difficult. But once I got used to the BCD it worked much better.
Can you manually inflate this BC?
A shopper on Mar 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, but the hose is narrow in diameter so it's harder to blow into.Im a Divemaster ,to show proper skills I replaced it with a typical inflator hose /system. But when diving for fun I use the original system, I really like the I3 system
I 'am 5'7", 180 lbs with about a 30 inch waist. Should I purchase the MED or MED Large?
MICHAEL A on Jan 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I think a medium would work well for you. I'm 5'9 and about 200 lbs and have the med-lg and it fits me very well. I was down to about 185 for a while and it was rather loose on me at that weight. Hope that helps you. I've been very happy with this BCD.
According to the size chart of the manufacturer I am XS (120lbs, 5,2", 29 waist). I dive either with a 3 or a 7mm wetsuit, should I get the S just in case?
Jocelyn A on Jun 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: My wife and daughter both use the XS - my daughter is about your size - I don't know that we've gone anywhere that they've worn a 7mm. But they have used a 5mm wetsuit with no issues.

I am at the upper end of their chart for M/L and the size is fine when wearing a 7mm.

I would say you won't have an issue going with the XS.
Not sure what size to get according to their size chart it varies greatly?
A shopper on May 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You should go with the size which is closest to your measurements, but not smaller than. Also, if the height is correct, but your weight is more than 20lbs over the recommended, I would go with the size larger. Another consideration to make is how thick of a wetsuit you will be wearing underneath it. If you plan to wear a 5 or 7mm suit under it then I would also skew towards the larger size
can this bcd be outfitted with standard type fill and integrated octo/safe second?
scott on Jul 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: if you are talking about using the i3 as well as a standard inflator hose then i don't think so, unless you had two inflator hosts on your reg.

that being said - the manual inflator hose is in the normal spot (on your left shoulder strap) - the connection to the BC appears to be a standard size so in theory you could install a standard inflator and use the i3 as a dump valve.
Can you take a rescue breath from an i3 BC?
Andrew S on Feb 12, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hello
That is a great question. I have never thought about it. There is a manual inflator hose on it. I don't know if it will let air back out of it. I am going to try it next time. I am sorry I don't have an answer for you.
I am looking to buy this for my husband for Christmas, in a XXL and he usually needs about 20 lbs in extra weight. What do you recommend for the Aqualung Axiom i3 BC?
Thanks so much,
Amy
Amy K on Dec 18, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Buy it as soon as you can, before it gets away. It is a great BCD and soft pouch weights work just as well as the solid weights in the pockets. Does not come with a BC knife, but you can get a Winoka BC knife that fits perfectly. The i3 control for the inflation/deflation works very well and is quite convenient, eliminating the floating, sometimes hard to find inflator hose. This BCD is also very stable at the surface and keeps your head out of the water. Good luck with your diving, and happy holidays!
Good afternoon, I would like to know what the difference is between the Axiom i3 BC, SKU: UDRA I3, and the Axiom BC, SKU: UDRA, you show in stock? I would also like to know which size you would recommend for a male diver, 200 lbs, 5' 10"? Thank you, Bill
Bill A on Nov 14, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The I3 is the system with the lever on the side for filling/devilling the BCD
Does this bcd have a manufacturers warranty?
A shopper on Feb 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Yes it does have limited lifetime warranty by the manufacturer.
Does not the knife include? There's no a knife.
Did you miss it or not?
CUTE GUY on Jan 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. There is no knife included with the BCD. I see that on the photo there is one mounted to display the grommets that can be used as a knife holder, and on the next picture there is a tank mounted to display the tank buckle system, and an octopus on the following picture, those are all added to display the functionality of the BCD. Sorry if it any way it was misleading.
I BOUGHT THIS BC AND I MISS THE CUMBER BUN CAN I ADD ONE?
JIM STANTON S on Jan 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, this BC is designed with the Wrapture System from Aqualung. It utilizes a different harness system that lets the weight of the tank rest on your hips, much like a backcountry backpack harness. The cummberbund is intentially left out.
Can you attach an AIR2 to this BC?
A shopper on Sep 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't know what an Air2 is sorry
I'm 5'7", currently weigh 190 lbs (trying to lose that), and my waist is a 40 at the moment. Which size of the Axiom i3 BC would fir me the best, and be adequate with regards to lift? Thank you!!!
Paul C on Mar 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: According to the size chart Medium fits your measurements the best.
I have an Aqualung Axiom I3 BC
