Fantastic BC and an amazing value

Needed to replace my 1990s US Divers Cousteau BC (because it doesn't fit any more). I was not initially considering the Tusa brand but when I tried on last year's Liberator Sigma model at a local shop was hooked. The new Sigma II model adds upgraded padding on the inside of the back plate, but sacrifices an integrated accessory clip. A wise tradeoff if you ask me. These can be adjusted to fit just about any size/shape person. I'll certainly never need to replace this due to weight loss o...

No third relief value and manually blowing BC would be difficult

Mouth piece is not designed for comfort, therefore inflating it manually is difficult. Need to have a real mouth piece added

So nice to have a new BC and it performs like an old friend!

Tisa liberator sigma 2

By ANDRE P.

Love this bcd. Fits nicely and has adjustable easy strap/Velcro connector which is a plus for me being as I weigh 320 lbs. don’t be fooled by the recommended weight of 250 lbs as it works great for me and I’m well above the recommended weight. Also love the removable front integrated weigh pockets and the rear weight pockets with snap closed buckles. Easily holds 18 lbs plus as I use a hefty 18lbs when diving due to my large body fat content which keeps me afloat.

I'll certainly never need to replace this due to weight loss or gain, as I had to with my old Cousteau. The integrated weight system works perfectly and I was able to get my trim just right with very little effort. I won't miss my weight belt! The storage pockets are terrific - nice and big with good quality double-zippers for opening/closing either direction. There are also lots of attachment points for flexible arrangement of your gear. I liked it so much we ended up buying the same model for my wife and kids, so we now have 4 of these. Everybody loves it and the medium size adjusts to fit my 5'6" large-busted, wide-hipped wife just as well as it fits my 6'1' 180lb wiry teen boy. My one and only complaint upon receiving them was that there is only one tank strap because I'm used to having two. However, after 12 dives with AL80s, the tank hasn't slipped even 1mm as far as I can tell, so this appears to have just been FUD on my part. After using it, my one and only wish is that there was a way to contain the inflator assembly close to your body. It tends to dangle beneath you when swimming over a reef. I miss the velcro attachment that was on my Cousteau - I may have to try to rig something like that up for this one.

Great BC

By NEAL G.

I have used this product in all forms of diving and find it easy to use, comfortable, durable and there is a slight improvement in the wt pockets compared to the prior model.

Good BCD - Great when you add APA!

By Snorkel C.

This is my second BCD. My first was a travel BC, which I was not happy with. I added the APA inflator/deflator to this BC, which takes the whole experience up a notch. The fit was great, and the construction seems very solid. I did 7 dives recently in St Thomas, and I can't imagine ever needing anything more in a BC. I am 5' 10" 195lbs, and the "Large" fits well with room for adjustment up and down depending on level of protection. And of course, LP's pricing and delivery was great, as usual.

Good for regular use

By scott p.

Very good user friendly BCD. Coming from a Dacor it’s a little bulky but that’s because of the large pockets. The weight integrated system takes a little getting use to but is secure and comfortable once in place. Would buy again.

Nice BCD, weight release could use some work

By Gajanan K.

It's a great BCD. My only criticism is that the "Advance Weight Release System" requires 2 pulls to release. Also 2 latches to click in. If both don't properly lock either your weights will release or won't release. But other than that, good pocket room, good fit, good price.

Tusa BCD review

By Casey L.

It is inexpensive so it's missing a few things such as a shoulder release valve,. But it's weight integrated and has some D rings to have your gear. Good buy for beginner or intermediate diver

Above average BCD

By Traveler

I have used this BCD on over 60 dives and it has performed well. It is durable and has survived some rough treatment onboard the small Zodic boats used by Sicilian dive shops (they can pack them tight with divers and equipment!). The only draw backs are that it only has one stainless D ring and the other 2 are plastic and small. The major issue that I have with it is the Velcro waist strap, it is too longer than what it really needs to be. It seems that it was made with 45+ inch waist divers. My waist is a 34 and when strapped it has about 6 inches of material left over.

comfortable, economical BC

By Nugget

I bought this as an economical start to outfitting myself with equipment. This is a very comfortable bc that allows for a full range of motion. If I could change one thing, it'd be to make the weight pockets bigger. I only use 3lbs (each side), but a bigger soft weight might not fit.

This will compliment the Tusa system I bought for my son. It's High Quality with good features for the warm water diving he'll be doing most of the time. As he progress's he can decide what features he wants and upgrade just as I did. The Leisure Pro guarantee really can't be beat!!!

You don't have any info about this BCD. What's the difference between this and the BCJ-3200? Which would you recommend?
Jonathan K on Mar 2, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It seems to me from the photos that the BCJ-0101 has more D-rings and fasteners, or is that just my imagination?
Does it come with weights?
Eugene D on Jan 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: no, it only comes with weight pockets that are easy to use and very helpful. it is a very fine BC and I recommend that anyone who wants a broad usage BC get this for warm and cold water and everything in between. if you get it as a beginner, you can keep it forever. get your weights from the diver operator or you can buy them easily at any shop if you want your own.
does it have pockets on the side ?
A shopper on Jul 26, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes this BCD has a total of four side pockets. Two good size on each side that I carry a roll up snorkel in the right pocket and gloves in the left pocket if I don’t need them but want with me. I could add more to them if dive called for more gadgets. It also has two small pockets at bottom on each side that I carry glow sticks and extra cutting tool.
Where is the BCD made?
A shopper on Jul 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I don’t know the answer to that. That’s a question for the manufacturer but I can say it’s a great BC. HAVE used it several times in Cayman Islands and Cozumel. Big pockets for weights and also has integrated pull out pouches for weights. I love this BC
