Relatively warm. A pair of lycra socks make donning a breeze. Fit was as defined. Coldest I've used it was 69F/20C in Bali, with a lava core shirt. While getting a slight chill it was acceptable. Best thing about it is that there no change in Buoyancy with the Lava core stuff. Glad I purchased this

Horrible Zipper

Be warned with this zipper they are easy to break. I tried on a 2xl in the dive shop and the plastic zipper broke. Then I tried on a 2xl different and the zipper worked fine. Took it home and put it on again today and the lanyard broke. I didn't order through leisure pro so its no fault of theirs. I just wish they had better quality control. I can still have the back zipped up just got to get someone help me zip it. If this zipper breaks I don't know what I will do but know I won't be using l...

Quality Jumpsuit

By JODY C.

from Portsmouth, NH, US

Used this LavaCore jumpsuit for the first time underneath my 7mm wetsuit for added warmth. Dove in 55 degree water temps over the weekend and was completely comfortable the entire dive. Jumpsuit is fleece lined such that you are virtually dry upon removal. Very comfortable....thicker than most skins...seems to be of excellent quality. No issues with the zipper thus far despite some reviews to the contrary.

Great !!

Best I have ever owned easy on and off and its nuet buoyant which means less weight.

GREAT SUIT!!

By Scott S.

I wore the suit with the vest most of the dives and it is more comfortable then a wet suit. on a few dives i wore just the suit and I was not cold.

Awesome!!!

By Tito A.

This wet suit is super comfortable and warm! Between multiple dives is very easy to put on again. Try that with another type and you know the struggle. Also since is neutrally buoyant you use less weight to go down. This means less drag. Great product!

Money well spent!

By Fred

For me the sizing chart was perfect, I was able to buy the size I needed. Zipper seems strong enough. Yes, it is really neutrally buoyant, I dropped around 5 pounds of lead because of switching to the Lavacore suit. I did a couple of dives in it, with depths of 110ft and it works like a charm. It always keeps me warm and really comfy. Best suit I ever owned so if you can afford spending a little extra, go for it! Oh, and on the surface if the winds blow, the windstopper inlay comes really handy.

Neutrally buoyant for me

By John H.

I was looking for a tropical dive suit to use with the typical 80cf aluminum tanks provided by dive resorts. Previous to this suit, I used a Henderson hyperstretch 3mm neoprene suit. With the Henderson, I used 10 lb of weight. With this suit, I am using 4 lb to achieve neutral buoyancy at end of dive. Since 4 lb is about the buoyancy of the empty tank, this suit is close to neutral buoyancy for me. I am happy with it. It may be relevant that I bought one size too small and found that it's stretchiness makes for a tight fit with no wrinkles or air pockets. That may account for the variable feedback people post with regard to whether is really is neutrally buoyant or not.

Good suit but be careful with zipper

By SHaase

The suit itself if good - easy to get on/off, plenty warm for me, etc. The only bad thing I've seen so far is the zipper which snapped in half when I pulled on the lanyard on my 4th dive. From now on, I'll have my dive buddy zip me up.

Would be great if the zipper didn’t break

By Glenn G.

Tried the suit on when I got it and it fit well around my torso but was long in the legs and sleeves. Got the sleeves and legs altered at a uniform shop and took it on a trip to Belize. Suiting up for my first dive the zipper mechanism pulled right off. I wore it with the zipper unzipped for one dive and then didn’t bother with it on the subsequent dives. Very disappointed in the quality of the zipper on what would otherwise be a nice suit. I might try to have the zipper replaced but who knows how much that will cost. I’ve already got the cost of the suit and the cost of the alterations into it, so I’m wondering if it’s worth pouring more money into.

Zipper broke while trying it on

By Craig K.

from Aurora, OH, US

The suit seems to fit well, but halfway through zipping it up the pull broke apart. From other reviews I knew this was a risk. I bought a zipper repair kit and am going to try and fix it - so far I haven't had it in the water yet.

Broke on first dive

By Takoguy

On my first dive the zipper broke. Wasted my day because I could not dive due to I could not zip up my wetsuit!

does this kept you as warm as a 5mm or 3mm or 2mm suit ?
A shopper on Jan 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Lavacore by itself is equivalent to a 2mm suit. More like 2.5 if you wear it under a wetsuit. Absorbs water and holds it in the suit for the extra warmth.
