Indoor rehab pool swimmer

I am a 5'8 1/2" and 112 lbs 55 yo female, always cold. Swimming in a chlorinated pool for spinal rehab. This vest makes the difference between "just can't stand it" to "still cold but bearable". I can now say that after wearing this vest in the indoor pool all season, it is still as good as new, the seams are fine, zipper is fine, nothing has deteriorated. I do rinse it well after each swim. The only problem I have is it binds under the arms a little doing breast stroke, and that may be du...

Too small for swimmers, who generally have larger chests and shoulders

I really wanted this for aquacize, but it would not fit across my chest. I had to return it.

Fits as expected!

By MARGARET N.

from Baton Rouge, LA, US

Not only does it provide the warmth desired it enabled me to stop wearing a shorty and go to two-piece everything! Much easier to take on/off IMHO!! I wear it over a rash guard with or without long sleeves and wear whatever type of leggings needed for the conditions. I would recommend this as it can be combined with other items for extra warmth.

Nice vest

By TODD R.

I wear this over a 3mm wetsuit for added warmth in cold water. It stretches easily to zip and stays put, doesn't ride up or feel tight in the arm holes. I followed the size chart and found it to be accurate.

Love this!!

I love this vest. I wear it under my wet suit when the water isn't quite warm enough. It is very comfortable and keeps me warm without having to buy another wet suit. I also wear it when I snorkel. I always take it on our dive trips as it helps to make that little adjustment to keep me warm. I highly recommend it!!

Perfect complement to full suit. Keeps me tight n snug. No discernible cold water rushing into chest which happens when i dont use it. Like it so much that i bought 2nd as back up. 30 dives on first one and looks like new

The only problem I have is it binds under the arms a little doing breast stroke, and that may be due to my tankini underneath, not sure. Anyway, if you are always cold and need a vest for indoor swim, it helps quite a bit and I would definitely spend the money again. Also my swimsuit is black and and the vest is black and nobody looks at me like I'm strange when I wear it, that was a pleasant surprise.

Great Vest

By ACJ

Delivery was prompt and in good condition. It was very easy to send the one that was too small back, just made a phone call and they sent me a shipping label. One thing that was weird, when I called the number listed on the website it went to Adorama (which must own Leisure Pro), took a bit for them to figure out I needed leisure pro... not sure why I was not given that option when I called? But once I got to the right person it went very fast and smooth.

Works well for me

By Julie

I used to put over my Henderson suit to tighten up for cold water (I lost some weight diving every day)

Worked well

By Jev

This vest was bought to go over my 3/2 wetsuit to add a bit of warmth. When I got it, it appeared too thin, however in the water it performed as advertised by adding warmth to the core of the body. Who knew. It made that 75 degF dive go from uncomfortably cold without, to just fine with. A very simple vest that works. Would have been 5 stars had it been cheaper.

warm but tight

By charis f.

It runs very small. I had to return for a size up and that was even a little small. I like the thickness and body length but the zipper comes up so high that it pokes me in the throat. Still working with the neck issue and adjusting how far I zip up.

Hi I am female with chest size 34inches and waist 29inches. However I have very thick muscular arm and am afraid the armhole would be tight as I would like to wear the Henderson 3mm zip vest over my lavacore L/S hooded shirt. Which size should I get? Or should I get the man's size instead (which sometimes I do have to buy man's shirt due to my muscular arm? I read from the reviews the vest runs abit small. Thanks.

BEST ANSWER: This vest is for a more flat chested type. Small frame. 101 lbs. Am basically straight as a plank 32-33 chest Waist 30. Scrawny arms at approx 31 cm and I'd like to think started broadening my shoulders slightly with regular swimming lessons but vest very comfortable. I began wearing vest over my 3 mm shorty very easily then when shorty got a bit looser I wore vest UNDER the shorty. I suggest get it and the male version and if doesn't fit return. Love this vest. I waited for a sale and even got a second one. Tried so many vests this one is perfect for my small chest.
would this product work as a flotation device for snorkelling?

I have a Henderson 5 mm full suit in size 10. What size vest would best fit over it for extra warmth? Thank you.

BEST ANSWER: I also have a Henderson 5mm suit in size 10. I am very small framed and very athletically built- very lean but I am 34DDD in the chest and have use a size 14 vest. It depends on your but size but I would recommend sizing up since this vest runs small. If you are a D cup I would get a size 12. I also wear the vest over my 3mm. It's very close fitting and keeps you toasty warm.
I am small framed, wet suit size sm and would like to wear this vest over my wet suit for x-tra warmth. Weigh around 103 what size would you suggest and would this vest work? Thanks

BEST ANSWER: I weight 115 pounds and am 5 feet 2 inches, broad frame. I bought a jumpsuit 3 ml size 8 thermopene wetsuit and it fits me well. I also purchased the thermopene vest- size 8- but it was too small over my wetsuit, so I exchanged it for a size 10 which fits well, and very snugly, over the jumpsuit. Even if I were to wear the size 8 without the wetsuit it was quite tight. If you are small chested, and of small frame the 8 might be fine for you. I found size 8 way too tight. It seemed tighter in comparison to the jumpsuit of same size.
Which size to order? I am size 20 bust and size 22 hips. I just want to be able to zip suit up and don't care if it doesn't stay down on hips.
Diane D on Nov 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure what size you should order, but this vest runs small. I own several Henderson wetsuits of various thicknesses and always order an 8, I did the same with this vest but it was too small, I had to get a larger one. You could order two sizes then send back the one that doesn't work, or try one and exchange if needed.
how does this product compare to your sport vest 2.5mm front zip vest on sale for $39.95? and if I was to wear this over a full wet suit 3mm size 6 what size should I like at? Thanks
polly r on Apr 15, 2013
BEST ANSWER: This vest is a Thermoprene vest which has 75% more stretch than other vests. The vest on sale does not have this stretch material. Over a 3mm wetsuit you may still be able to fit a size 6 over the wetsuit. A size 8 will be too loose and you will not get the same thermal protection.
I'm wondering about the sizing. I am buying this item as a gift. My girlfriend is 5' 6" and weighs 120 lbs. Size 4 or 6?
A shopper on Aug 1, 2012
BEST ANSWER: check the size chart and your freinds clothing size
I was wondering if the arm-holes will get bigger with increasing size? Might sound silly, but it seems to be a problem with my other Henderson products!

BEST ANSWER: Sorry I can not answer this as I gave this to my mother for the swimming pool exercise. She did say that the bottom part of the suit floats up with out having a crotch strap. Probably would not be a problem as a diver as we are generally horizontal with weight belt on...
