Great snorkeling and tropical dive fins.

Great fins for snorkeling and surprisingly good for scuba. Took these for snorkeling during downtime between dives on a Bahamas liveaboard and decided to give them a go after my usual open heal fins turned out to be uncomfortable with my thinner-than-usual neoprene booties. They worked amazingly well for scuba. Did about 17 dives with them and they’re now my go to for tropical diving. Very light and packable. Don’t be dissuaded by their compact size. Plenty of power for the minimal current fo...

not for me

I think the reason I didn't like these was because of the style, not the quality of the fin--I have only ever used fins that were open in the heel. I ended up finding these ones uncomfortable to swim in, my movements in them just didnt feel natural. The fact that they float seemed like a nice feature at first but only added to the awkward feeling while trying to swim.also it was difficult keeping a hold of them while I was trying to get out past the break and back in again and I dont have tha...

Plenty of power for the minimal current found with most Caribbean diving. My AOW instructor used these in Aruba and I thought he was crazy. Should have followed his example years ago.

Love them! Perfect length for packing. Thanks to customer service directing me to proper size.

Great Fins

By Steve Z.

I bought these after renting a similar pair on a snorkel trip. The fit is great- soft quality rubber that you hardly feel on your feet. They feel like an extension of your foot. I out swam my brother in law with his $200+ fins! Service from Leisurepro was excellent- fast shipping, and great packaging.

We use these fins for lap swimming, they should also be great for snorkeling or body boarding. We're on our 4th pair over 10 years as the chlorine isn't great for the longevity of any rubber product. In salt or freshwater they might just last forever. They're very flexible and comfortable, size runs small. The best value for cost, comfort and durability I've ever found.

Great Snorkel Fins

By Frank

I am a scuba diver and typically use a fine set of scuba fins. But they are heavy for snorkeling. I used a pair of these SeaStar fins on a snorkel tour recently and loved them. They are all you need for snorkeling. Nothing technical or fancy, just functional. They are light and comfortable and most importantly they will pack neatly inside of my suitcase.

all purpose, comfortable

By Carol

These are the fins I use for bodysurfing and snorkeling as they are very comfortable and fully functional for a mix of water activities. I've gotten them in 7 different sizes; one for myself and the others for my nephews as their feet get successively bigger. Although I've purchased other bodysurfing fins in the past, these are my favorite for comfort.

good except for?

I have used these fins on my daughter since she was 4.5 years old they have been great, never breaking. But now, she is ten and just out grew her size 1-3 fin, I ordered the 3-5 fin and it is too big. I am keeping this fin for when she grows bigger but have had to buy another fin for the present. I wish they didn't make one size fits all for 3 sizes.

O.K, for price

By Terry F.

I wear a woman's 8 1/2 W. While I found these to be wide enough they felt too loose. I was afraid to go out in the stronger currents for fear of them coming off. I also felt they were too stiff, didn't provide enough propulsion in the stronger currents. I probably should have had fin straps to make them feel more secure. They did fit completely in my carry on bag.

I think the reason I didn't like these was because of the style, not the quality of the fin--I have only ever used fins that were open in the heel. I ended up finding these ones uncomfortable to swim in, my movements in them just didnt feel natural. The fact that they float seemed like a nice feature at first but only added to the awkward feeling while trying to swim.also it was difficult keeping a hold of them while I was trying to get out past the break and back in again and I dont have that issue with fins that have straps. The pros were that they held on to my feet just fine without being too tight and they are affordable.

I wear a womens size 8 and have a wide foot will these fit me?
A shopper on Jul 13, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Bought size 7/8 last year for my wife who wears a size 8, average foot width. They are a tad loose but would probably be perfect for a wider foot.
Hi, I used to have the tusa x-pert split fins full foot for traveling. I'm looking for another pair of fins good for travel (light, can be packed, effective) full foot because I don't want to take my booties. I was looking at this model (Deep Sea Star). Do you have any advice? How do they compare to the old version of the x-perts? Any other model you would recommend?
Patrick A on Mar 11, 2014
BEST ANSWER: My wife bought the Deep Sea Star June 2013 for scallop season in Florida and loves them. She had tried different fins but was never particularly fond of any of them. Several years back she found an older pair of Deep Sea Star at the Goodwill store. After using them a few time she immediately preferred these over the other fins she had bought. After a couple of years using the fins from Goodwill and liking them better than the other fins, she bought a new pair from Leisure Pro. They are only used a few months during the summer so she wasn't looking for an expensive and heavy pair. The Deep Sea Star are comfortable, light, and affordable.
Are these fins used for snorkeling or scuba or both?

Thanks
kelli f on Aug 15, 2012
BEST ANSWER: I use these to do laps in a pool every day. They are excellent and long lived. My last pair was over 7 years old and got use in the Carribbean and on sail boats during all those years. I lost one and had to replace them with a new pair recently. I'm so happy that I was able to buy the same ones. Also, my new pair seems to be better made.
I was wonder the overall length of the fin?
Ssalex on Sep 2, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Size 8-9 is 18 " from stem to stern". These are not particularly long fins. One of the things we like about them is they don't over work your legs, but still have good "push" when used vigorously (because of their stiffness, I guess)
are they rubber?
A shopper on Mar 28, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the foot cradle is thin and flexible but sturdy and the fin itself is thick and does not have a lot of give. Great for basic swimming and snorkeling, but I would not recommend them for diving or body boarding- not enough surface area for SCUBA and would get ripped off body boarding.
I wear a mens size 10. will the 10-13 be loose on my foot? do they run a little small?
Doug E on Jan 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I think they will fit comfortably. I wear an eleven Women's size and they are a good fit for me.
I wear a size 9 in womens shoe. Should I order a mens 7-8 or 8-9?
Donna J on Apr 27, 2013
BEST ANSWER: 7-8 they size like shoes so a men's 7-8 will do fine. Btw the footpocket is very forgiving and comfortable. Happy swimming
sizing chart does not match menu. Need for women size 7?
A shopper on Jan 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I wear a woman's size 10 1/2 to 11 shoe. I have worn this Deep See fin for years and swim approximately 1 mile a day. Size 10 - 13 (46 - 47) is perfect for me.
Size 8=9 How long are the fins for packing in a carry on?
Catherine V on Aug 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi,

fins are 19 inches or 48,5 cm.
Hope this will help.

Stephan
are these fins unisex sizes? I wear a women's 8-8.5 and have a narrow heel what size should I buy
Melissa B on Mar 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I think theyre sized in mens. I too have a narrow heel but they seemed to hold just fine. Order the appropriate mens size and you should be fine. You may even be able to get a size down. If your toes poke out... well thats what the holes on the fronts are for. :--)
I am interested in the 10-13 fins Deep See fins. I use them only for swimming and kicking laps. Can I return them after trying them on with socks but not swimming with them?
Jay M on Aug 28, 2019
BEST ANSWER: yes you can, no water use and no walking around : ) with all packaging within 60 days for a full refund
