This is a good one, very good value

I am pretty price sensitive and wanted to get a really good wetsuit for cheap. My LDS's had all kinds of wetsuits for $300 and up, this one was half that at $134.95 delivered. After reading all the reviews, I found some to be helpful, but most weren't because they seemed to center on the company, shipping, fit, etc. They also seemed to be written by excited customers who just got their shiny new toy in the mail. So... I decided to wait until the excitement wore off and share my own thoug...

Good improvements in finish

By Edward H.

from London, ON, CA

Cressi has improved the finish over the previous Castoro, especially around the wrist and ankle cuffs, extending the neoprene right to the end. The original featured rubber which broke down rapidly, splitting and fraying quite badly. It also appears they've gone to a stretchy neoprene, making it easier to don and doff, but may deteriorate faster than the original suit.

good suit, nothing fancy

By Andrew

Trying to stay low on a budget I decided to go ahead and buy this suit. I freedive mostly, and spear fish, so from the start I did not expect much from this suit. This one is full 5mm and it feels WAY thicker. In 8 degrees water I feel warmer than in my 3/2 in 15 degrees water. Good seals around wrists and ankles, nice and big opening for easy doning and doffing. A little stiff like all closed cell suits are, so this isn't a problem. Suit is rated for 196 lbs and I am tipping the scale at 210 pounds (all lean muscle, eh), so it is naturally a little bit tight fit. And of course my arms are 18" in circumference, therefore sleeves are a bit too tight. But then, most clothing is tight for me, so this is rather my problem. I would give this suit 10/10 for good combination of quality and price. I used it about a doesen times in last month, so far no rips, still like new.

Perfect all-around Suit

By Glenn S.

I use this suit when diving in the sunny south and for cave diving. It meets all my recreational needs as well as the tougher demands that I put on it while in the caves. The 5mm is perfect for tropical caves (not colder springs, etc) so it's all I need to pack. The look of the suit is eye-catching as well... Note that the sleeve and pant ends are rubber so unless you turn them up while donning, it can be a pain. Zippers would be a nice touch as I'm not demanding all that much from this suit however it's a good suit "as is". I would recommend!

Good All Around Wetsuit

Good wetsuit for most dives. The shoulder padding was not as robust as I expected but not particularly a game changer. The knees are amply padded. The wetsuit fit as described in the chart.

Great wetsuit

By Bill P.

I am 6 feet 190 pounds and the XL is slightly large on me. An "L" would have been a better fit. That said, the seals on the neck, ankles and wrists are SUPER good, the wetsuit is Very comfortable and very warm. It is buoyant and you may need to add extra weight. Overall construction is excellent and the cut seems to be very good. I will purchase another!

So... I decided to wait until the excitement wore off and share my own thoughts. I don't work for the company, FYI. 1. I did 24 dives in the Bahamas this month, March of 2017. Water temp was consistently around 78F. I did not wear a hood. Generally speaking on land I tend to get cold easily, so I was worried a little, plus the air temp was barely 80F. I was warm during the dives, most averaged about 40 minutes, my longest dive was an hour. Some had me a little chilled towards the end, but I think that was a buildup of 4-5 dives each day and the air temp not really letting you warm up your core. All that is just long winded for saying the deal kept me plenty warm. 2. Construction seems good. It has the traditional velcro keeper for the zipper, and it also has the extra velcro closure for the neck. I found the neck seal to be very good and not leak cold water down my spine. The secondary neck velcro may be the only weakness, I am not sure how it will hold up over time. I'm not sure because I have no experience, but it didn't look much if any different than all of the other wetsuits I shopped for or saw on the boat. The suit also has some nice knee pads, but I think that if you're kneeling then you're not diving. Don't stir up the sand, and don't tough the coral. :) 3. Fit was very good for me, but this is all kinds of variable as we all are shaped different. I'm 5'7" and 162# and got a medium. I thought the arms and leg lengths were very good. Torso and hip areas were also very good, not a lot of room, it was snug but snug like you want it. 4. It's a 5mm, so getting it on and off is going to be harder than a thinner suit, but it wasn't like it was all that hard. 1st dive of the day the suit was dry, so it was easy enough to get on. The 4 cuffs are the hardest part. For the rest of the dives, I went to the shower on the dive deck and ran hot water in it to warm it up, then slipped it on. That took a little more work, but it wasn't all that bad, IMO. Most days I had my buddy zip me and unzip me since my arm flexibility is poor and there are 2 velcro's to deal with. 5. A Russian diver was on board for the week, and he had the exact same wetsuit, but his looked older. I don't know how much older his was, but the silkscreened printing was cracking and flaking a little. I'd say this is typical in wetsuits that i have seen. But the material, the seams, overall, the deal looked to be holding up well and this guy dives all over the world. 6. Yes, the buying experience with Leisure Pro was stellar. I had a guy emailing me on a Sunday night answering questions about 7 different suits I was looking at, and the deal showed up ahead of schedule on my doorstep. 7. I bought 3 other wetsuits from my LDS for my family, and paid 2x the price for each of them. After seeing them in use every day I am convinced that quality wise mine is probably better than theirs. My zipper pad thing that keeps the zipper off your skin was twice as thick as theirs, and we all had the same velcro attachments. Not sure what else to say, other than I hope this helps in your search. IMO, you cannot beat the price I paid, the comfort and fit were great for 24 back to back dives and I don't see any reason why I wouldn't buy this same wetsuit again if I needed to.

Quality wetsuit, great price. Leisure Pro pressure free fit is sweet!

By jeff m.

Well-made, quality materials, great price. I'm 5'11 180 lbs 44 chest 35 waist 32 inseam. Ordered 2XL as some reviewers said it runs small. The XL was too big, sent it back and exchanged for XL. XL fits well. Leisure Pro was prompt to exchange, and free return shipping too!

Great suit at a great price

By David F.

from Pittsburgh, PA, US

Use mine in quarry diving in late spring/summer, water temps 75 at surface to upper 50s at depth. Suit is a perfect "average", as its a little warm up top, and a little chilly below, but tolerable throughout the dive profile. Only complaint I have, and its purely personal, is that my height is more seat to shoulder, so this suit is a little short in the stride, maybe a little moreso that others. Else, it would have got 5 stars.

keeps me warm in Hawaii waters even after 3 hour long dives. In fact I have to cool myself by letting water in. Make sure you buy correct size

Great suit n great price as well

Solid wetsuit for price.

By Stacey H.

Great wetsuit for the price. I have this wetsuit for a couple of years and have around 300 dives on it. It’s still in good condition with some minor wear and tear on the shoulders and knees. I use it for tropical waters as I get cold easily but it would be well suited for cooler water. I would recommend this wetsuit if it fits your needs

Will this suit mans 6 ft 4in ?
A shopper on Aug 21, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No, probably not. Look for a Bare or Henderson suit in a Tall version. http://www.leisurepro.com/c-982/wetsuits?Filter=flid_982_4%3d241%3abrand%3dHenderson%2cBare%3aflid_982_3%3d231%3aflid_982_2%3d227
I'm 5'-8" and 160#. Will the XL size fit me?
Scuba J on Apr 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure if this will 100% answer your question, but I am 5'10" and weigh 145. I bought a Medium and it fits great. Could be slightly longer for me, but anything bigger would have been too loose. I have comfortable room in the medium and it's easy on and off with my build. I would suggest that the XL would be too big. I'd try the Large first. Also, with Leisure Pro, you can always buy two and keep the one that fits best. Finally, it's a pretty great suit. Zero complaints and a steal at the current sale price.
I'm 6' at 235# 2x or 3x?
A shopper on Nov 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would say 2x. I'm about 5'9" and I was about 220-225# when I bought my 2x. It was slightly long on me. I think I only wore it in the pool, once. Too much for Roatan(even in January) and I'm bigger now. Are you in U.S.? HMU for a deal.
weight of this wetsuit ?
A shopper on Oct 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Different sizes will weigh slightly different amounts. The X-Large weighs 5 lbs dry.
