Great BC

By D C.

 -  San Diego, CA, US

This is a well made BC with a lot of useful features. The cordura fabric on the BC harness/body/bladder is tough and sturdy. The integrated weight system is very good and easy to use. It does have back trim pockets with adjustable straps. I've used 20lbs(14Front/6Back) in the BC, and could have fit more. The back pad feels good even with my big HP117 steel tanks. The single tank strap holds my heavy steel tanks firmly, and I soak the strap before dives. The D rings are plentiful. The storage p...

Bought this for my son a d he loves it. He has no issue with staying buoyancy neutral. The adjustments makes it a perfect fit.

The Zeagle Focus BCD is a versatile and durable, buoyancy compensator that comes with a high-capacity bladder and multiple attachment points for accessories. This front adjustable jacket style BC with innovative bladder design using Airplus to provide more lift but remain streamlined. Reinforced and fade resistant Cordura 500 denier nylon bladder material, 1000 denier nylon on shoulder straps, harness and pocket material and a radio frequency (RF) welded urethane laminate inner bladder for airtight integrity all make this a BCD built to last. The Focus has a dual position adjustable sternum strap, torso adjustable shoulder straps, and padded cummerbund with dual adjustment, all equipped with squeeze-style" side-release buckles for quick and easy donning and doffing.

Storage and attachment of accessory items are facilitated with six stainless steel D-rings along with one retractor D-ring and accessory webbing hook along with two expandable zippered utility pockets. For extra comfort the Focus has a super soft back pad. The integrated weight system is a single action weight release design with 20 lbs. (9.1 kg) of releasable weight capacity and 10 lbs. (4.54 kg) of non-releasable weight in rear trim pockets. Buoyancy control is made easy with the rear right overpressure relief/pull dump valve and Zeagle's Power Inflator System with 3/8" threaded quick-disconnect low pressure hose. The inflator is also connected to a pull dump valve for rapid deflation. The Focus has a dry weight of 9.7 lbs. (4.4 kg), provides 36 lbs. (16.33 kg) of lift, and is made in the USA.

Low quality, and poorly thought out.

Snaps (not buckle) on chest strap are built to fail, auto inflator is sticky and leaky, it comes with a huge very in the way warning label you have to remove that makes it unreturnable, improper smooth textured nylon used for waist strap means constant in water readjusting, drop-weights handles are stationary and hooked meaning they grab things (both mine were lost after a few dives), top dump valve occasionally sticks... the bladder has held but this unit has caused me nothing but trouble.

Bought this for girl friend, great fit

Great jacket BC!

By James I.

from Tampa, FL, US

Bought this great Zeagle BC on sale and am very pleased with its performance. It's very well constructed w/ an integrated weight system and trim packs. Has plenty of rings for other gear/accessories and adjusts easily for a comfortable fit. Comes equipped with 3 dump valves and big pockets for lifesaver mask, safety gear etc. Although a bit heavier than some of the lighter travel BCs on the market, this IS MY travel-ready kit. You can't go wrong at this price! Get 1 before they're gone ...........

Impressed me as of equal quality and construction as my ScubaPro Glide.

Can't beat Zeagle for quality

By Israel J.

Wife loves her Zeagle bc. She felt comfortable with it on. No issues, except that overall the bc is a bit bigger than I thought when I purchased it for my wife. It packs well for travel.

Rugged vest style BCD.

By mark o.

Zeagle quality and durability is evident with focus bcd. My last bcd from another manufacturer cost 4 times as much and spent half its 2 year life undergoing warranty repairs.

Great BCD and Leisure Pro's Great Price

By Brian Y.

Great BCD. Has all the attachment rings I need. Solid construction. Is not that heavy. Used on 60 dives. Sweet.

Tough basic jacket style BC

By Rudy

I’m 6’ 190lbs.and dive a 7mm wetsuit. The large fit well.I’m a divemaster and needed a tough and inexpensive jacket style BC that had plenty of lift and space for extra weight and all the other random equipment you need to assist with open water certification classes. It also had to be easy to get in and out of when demonstrating skills for students. The Zeagle Focus fit all my needs at a great price! Thanks LP!!

The storage pockets are of decent size, but it can be difficult to reach/open underwater. I cannot comment on how long it takes to dry because I hang it up in a storage unit after dives. For the recreational diver, I definitely recommend the Focus BC. I am 5-8, 160lbs and the Medium fit me perfect. 32 inch waist and I have 21 inch torso length as per the Zeagle measuring guidelines. I added it to my Wishlist and LeisurePro got me a great deal. Very happy with this BC. Per the Zeagle tag on the BC: Boyancy Chart SM - 33lbs MD - 36lbs LG - 46lbs XL - 47lbs

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
MISTY J  Quality brand, my husband wanted larger pockets for a small camera, and he wanted a jacket style, weight-integrated BCD. This fit the bill, so hope it's perfect :)
RICHARD K  reputation
s o  Does this BC have a built in handle?
Steven T  No
Brian Y  Yes it does. It is positioned behind the back cushion. Sometimes it is not too convenient to grab ahold of compared to other BCD’s.
Craig D  No it does not. I suppose the rubber coated top tank strap could be used as a handle - but there is no dedicated handle.
Kevin D  Yes, although it’s somewhat hidden. You can locate it inbetween the two layers of fabric right at the top. There is also a small strap on the back.
John K  Nope. I’m selling mine. Contact me if you’re interested.
RobertThanks L  Yes, but the top hole is small so if you have a big hand it can be a bit of a pain to grab.
WILLIAM B  I'm 6"3' 200lbs 35 waist, size L?
Brian G  I am 5'10" 190lbs and 35-36 waist. A large fits me well.
Sheryl F  William, I think a large will work for you, but I would maybe go somewhere and try BCD’s on first just to make sure of comfort.
michael h  I am 5 11 185lb and the large fit great I only use a 3 mill shortly
WILLIAM W  I'm 6'0, waist 33, and size M fits me nicely. My cummerbund waist velcro strap can still be loosen a bit more (e.g. waist 34), but it would probably barely strap 35 waist. Cummerbund strap of size L maybe more adjustable for you.
Nick A  I am 6" 165lbs and 34 waist, size M fits me perfectly will the shoulder straps almost completely tight and the cummerbund almost as tight as it goes too. Wetsuits should be taken into account too. Hope this helps
Elevator guy E  Yes...I am 5'7" 195 33 waist and I have a medium...large would be better for me but medium still works. If i were your size i would buy the large.
mark o  I’m 6’ 200 lbs and bought the xl. I Prefer a little extra room when I wear my 5 mil wetsuit when the water temp in s Florida drops below 72 Fahrenheit.
Glenn J  Yes, I think that should fit you fine. It's more about the chest size than anything else. I have a 43" chest and am 5'9 tall and it is a little bit long on me. The cumberbund has 2 setting in the back for waist size. Hope this helps.
