Great Fin

By Bronx D.

Dove with these fins for 3days of 2tank dives in Mexico. Used in moderate current with at time heavy surge. All i can say is they have great power, there small compact fins that imo dont lack a thing. I used them with socks since a small was too tight and regular was a hare loose. They say there supposed to be used without boots but i was worried about rubbing so i went with the socks. i have a solelss pair of 3mil boots and could have used them as well. Im mostly a tropical diver and with t...

Aqualung Hot Shot Fins

By MICHAEL D.

 -  Oxnard, CA, US

Have been diving with Hot Shots for four years now, best travel fin I've ever used. Light, easy to don and doff and comfortable on a bare foot so I don't have to deal with stinky boots and waterlogged feet all trip long. My wife prefers to wear a thin Lycra sock with her Hot Shots and that works great too. If you travel or dive in warmer water, take a pair of these along with you.

The ultimate warm-water travel companion, the HotShot delivers the power needed for scuba diving in a compact fin that packs easily into carry-on luggage. A lightweight, techno-polymer blade incorporates adjustable silicone Power Bands to maximize thrust and bands can be adjusted during the dive to meet changing conditions. Supple foot pockets are designed for use with bare feet and Comfo-straps are buckle-free and self-adjusting. A semi-rigid, techno-polymer blade has an excellent spring effect for maximized thrust. Silicone Power Bands are loaded with energy during the down stroke, which they release prior to the upstroke for a power boost on every kick. Twin-Speed Gear Shift allows each diver to dial in Power Band resistance for their body type or changing diving conditions, and adjustments can be made while wearing the fin.

A Mid-Foot Flex Joint is used to attach the blade to the side of the foot pocket. This maximizes energy transfer from the leg and provides the power of a blade 30% longer. Blade ribs are made of two different elastomeric compounds and provide precise flex control. The top and sides of the foot pocket are soft against bare skin yet allow neoprene socks or thin-soled boots to be worn for thermal protection. Self-adjusting Comfo-straps allow fast donning and eliminate the need for buckles, minimizing drag. Anti-slip rubber pads on the bottom of the foot pocket give traction for moving around on boat decks. Overall length of 20.9" (53 cm) fits easily into carry-on luggage, such as the Departure bag from Deep See. The size regular weighs 3.28 lbs. (1.5 kg). Fins are available in multiple sizes and colors.

DIVE PINK & FIGHT BREST CANCER! For every Pink Fins $5 will be donated to fight breast cancer.

Fine, if it fits

This seems like a quality fin, but it runs narrow, and there is no adjustability in the heel. They would be worth a try anyway, for someone with a narrow foot. But in our case, the company is totally nonresponsive to our requests to return them. So I simply cannot recommend the product (or company).

7 years and going strong

By redberry

I bought these for travel after I contacted Marty Snyderman renown UW photographer who used them in his travels. Now about 7 diving years later I can say it is a fantastic product. Just today replaced heel straps as a precaution and hope to get another 7+ years out of them. They are comfortable, powerful, easy on and off, fit in my carryon when traveling far, especially to livaboards where you do not want your checked gear to get lost. A word of caution: not for high instep feet. My wife with her high instep feet could not even get the on to try.

I loved these fins, but had to return them after only trying them on. They are not for wide feet size 12.

Aqualung hotshots.

By ROBERT F.

I really like these fins. They are compact for travel but still provide good power for tropical diving. They may not have the thrust for heavy-duty technical or arduous cold water diving. I've had mine for 4 years and used them in Hawaii and the Caribbean with no problems and I weigh over 200#.

I couldn't be happier

By jim

I own aqualung slingshot fins that I love and use for diving but they are very large and difficult to travel with. I purchased the hotshots for their smaller size to use for snorkeling and travel. I was very impressed with their performance while both snorkeling and diving. I would definitely recommend these to anyone and have already purchased a pair for my wife

Light weight

By Tori

I travel a lot. These are perfect for warm water dives!

seem perfect for travel needs

By NATHAN T.

from Conroe , TX, US

I bought these for travel only- I have used them in a pool just to get a feel for how they perform. So far I am happy with how they feel. I am an XL fin user and these fins pack a punch in a smaller size-about 5 inches shorter than my everyday boot fins. I do have a more narrow foot than some so a wide or extra wide foot may have difficulty (I wear a 13 regular fit). The only thing that may be a down side for some is that due to design and use without a boot you cannot walk around on shore or dock without a regular shoe or sandle. While this is great off of a boat it may cause issues with shore diving. I will be doing both later this year and will have agreater understanding of PROS and CONS that I can update.

Great Fins - Would buy again without hes

By RON B.

My wife actually uses these fins. I bought them for her, thus the pink color. The fins are very comfortable and then generate forward motion on both the up stroke and the down stroke. The fins are very easy to remove in the water since they have a large loop within the built-in fin strap. They work very similar to spring straps for SCUBA fins.

GREAT TRAVEL FINS

GREAT FIT !

Perfect for a woman, too.

By Judith A.

These fins can be used without socks or boots but can also be used with either. I travel with socks to save weight. The fins fit in my canvas carry on bag and are a pleasure to use even in strong currents. A really good well designed product which I highly recommend.

Great Travel Fin

By Fins M.

I typically dive on vacation in warm climates as many times as possible. I usually only travel with a mask and reg, but after several very painful, dive-ruining experiences renting fins (my feet are size 12-12.5 and wide, with arthritis from old breaks and bunions) in decided I needed fins that can travel. I have used them on 25 dives or so and a bunch of snorkeling. I wear lycra socks or go barefoot. I love them. Obviously much better then any fins I have ever rented. Highlights: - Very comfortable, soft feel footpocket kind to my feet. However, I do not think i could wear them with boots - I weigh about 200lbs and was able to propel myself adequately in current - No cramping etc, except when worn for 5hours snorkeling

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE FINS!

By jwhitney1981

These fins are perfect. I can wear them barefoot, with socks or with low cut smaller boots and they still fit perfect! Very comforatable and easy to get on and off.

SCOTT F  Lightweight for travel and comfort for warm water diving. Good reviews in dive magazines.
Shopper  Are the Green and Pink Aqua Lung Hotshots the same as the newer Blue, White color?
KEVIN F  Yes, they are the same aside for color.
Shopper  My wife usually wears a women's size 9. I'm concerned about using these barefooted for a week long dive trip. Do not want blisters! Any one buy these with a thin dive sock or boot?
BRIAN D  I have been using these for 5 years and simply by wearing a thin dive sock, I have never once had a blister or any problems with these fins.
SUZANNE G  No, socks for me. I wear a 9 narrow. They fit like a glove. Love them!
CRAIG J  Both my wife and I use these for snorkeling. I wear a size 9 and my wife wears a size 6. We really like these for the comfort and the elastic heel strap. We usually use these bare footed, but have used light boots when walking in from a beach. Either is very comfortable.
Arpana G  You would want a soft soled dive boot in my opinion. Not a sock 2 or 3mm.
RENAUD V  I have not used them for a whole week but they are quite comfortable even barefoot. With a thin sock (which I have used) it's perfectly comfortable too.
MARK M  Yes... have used these fins with both 6mm boots and 1mm booties. They are a little hard to get off at times with the 6mm, but slide right off with the 1mm (when I want them too, that is)
