Scubapro Mesh N' Roll Bag

By RICHARD Y.

 -  Council Bluffs, IA, US

I have not used this yet, but the size when it rolls up is great for travel. It will fit in my travel bag.

The Scubapro Mesh N' Roll Bag is a large duffle style travel bag ideal for transporting a set or two of equipment plus wet or dry suit and accessories. The Mesh N' Roll Bag features a large dual zipper slider main compartment with U-shaped opening for easy access to the bags content and a side zippered accessory compartment. Bag has padded adjustable top and carry handles; end pull handle and heavy- duty wheels for ease of transportation.

What's great about this bag is you can submerge it in the rinse tank at the boat dock or dive site and rinse all your equipment inside the bag. This feature also allows you to bring your travel gear bag when security is an issue and once you arrive at your diving destination you can transfer you gear to the mesh bag and use it instead of getting the travel bag wet. The Bag measures (L x W x H) 30.8" x 15" x 13.8" (78.23cm x 38cm x 35cm), with a volume of 6,346.5 cubic inches (104 liters), weighs 5.73 lbs. (2.6kg) when empty and is made from durable mesh and nylon. Bag is black in color.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Does the bag have attachment points for a shoulder strap?
James R  No, however the straps are long enough to be used as shoulder straps.
Amanda R  It does not but Sometimes Ill use the straps like a backpack strap
KIM S  No it does not have shoulders strap as too wide. Carry handle.
KAREN F  No it does not. I guess you could attach it to the handles
MARC G  I do not think it has attachement point for a shoulder strap. You possibly could use the handles slung over the shoulder.. However, this bag has wheels.. and the wheels add to weight. BUT it is a dream to use. Officially it is my wifes... as I use the scubapro dry bag (size 95) no longer made... but... I carry mine as a backpack. I love my bag as well. BUT gets a little heavy on back. The wheels on this one make moving gear from truck to boat a breeze. I also folds up nicely for storage. Plenty of room for gear. Being mesh, wet gear / wetsuits do leak out... so not a good choice for the backseat or trunk, without a towel down etc.. Bottom line.. it is a winner... IF mesh and roller are your needs
Mary R  Can it be a carry on bag for flights?
DAVID P  No, when filled with gear it would exceed dimensions for carryon bags.
Michael D  Probably not. I think it would be too big.
Gregory L  No, too floppy I don’t think it would work well
KAREN F  I have never used mine as a carry on and I would tend to think it is to big but you would have to check with the airlines for the sizes allowed to carry on. I fold mine up and place in my suit case with my scuba gear.
MARC G  I do not think so. It’s mesh also - so there’d be no privacy for contents. It folds nicely and my wife puts in suitcase that carries her dive gear.
ROGER M  No.It is a large bag that can hold two sets of gear.
RANDY P  No, it’s way too big to be a carry on
MARK M  Probably not. It could but it’s mesh, so there would be some exposure of the contents to the outside environment. I wouldn’t use it that way.
Matthew S  No. It’s too big of a bag and it’s mesh so it subject to outside elements. Primarily used to get gear on board and rinse. Does not work well for long walks dragging by handle because of the lack of a support and pull handle system. Very durable though.
MICHAEL A  No! Way too big. I don't think you could use it for check in either (too many handles to catch on things). It is designed to fold up completely to about 14x6x6". We put it in our checked luggage and use it to get to the dive boats. It rolls or can be used like a backpack.
James R  The bag is pretty big and, depending on the airline gate crew, may not pass the carry on bag size restrictions but you could try it!
PATRICK R  I would say no. It is pretty big. That being said, it is an awesome bag. I can get both my gear and my daughter's gear in it (BC, reg, mask, fins, boots, wetsuits, gloves, hoods, snorkels)
Laura L  No. It is is to large and unwieldy
Graham H  It is bigger than Cary in size, I haven’t checked but fly a lot. Check TSA allowance but I am sure it’s too big too fit if full
STACY E  Hi - can anyone tell me what is the dimensions of the bag when it is folded up/compacted for packing? Thanks!
MARC G  Don't know exact specs.. but bag is great. To quote other... Awesome. My wife's primary dive bag. We closed it up and put inside a wheeled luggage when travelling. Was able to fit all her gear, plus the roller bag, plus my kids snorkel gear.. in a Medium sized suitcase. Once opened... plenty large for all you scuba gear. If you like mesh bags & wheels. This is a no-brainer
JOE C  a triangle inches 17 x 10 x 15 where the 15 is one side of a triangle 15 tapering down to 1 inch. take a cube 17 x 10 x 15 and slice it in half diagonally (not quite, it's not zero on the low side, it's about 1 inch)
James R  Hi Stacy. The bag rolls up to about 3" thick x 15" wide x 14" high. It fits nicely in the bottom of a normal suitcase bag or carry-on. It also has a Velcro strap to keep it shut. Hope this helps.
MARC G  I do not know exact specs - but I will tell you the bag is aswesome. It does fold up on itself and has a Velcro strap to keep it bundled nicely. We packed it inside a rolling suitcase w a full set of dive gear and snorkel gear for 2 kids - when we travelled to Maui. The bag is a winner.
SCOTT E  I don't have it in front of me, but it rolls up into a very manageable size and has velcro strap closure. Takes up much less space in my dive bag than did my backpack model.
Shopper  I see the handles over the U-shaped zipper, but is there a handle at the end opposite the wheels to use while rolling? If so, where is it positioned? (middle? or how close to bottom edge?)
Kathy B  There is a handle at the opposite end of the wheels, used to pull the bag while rolling. It's an adjustable strap with a hard plastic grip. It's positioned across the center of that end of the bag, left to right. If there's a way to upload a picture I'd be happy to do so.
MICHAEL A  There is a "pull" handle located in the middle of the top (far end opposite the wheel side). It's a soft handle, but works fine. If you're paying $70, which is a bargain, rather than $120 be aware that one of the two that I bought had a seam that split (which I repaired with Aquaseal and thread). I really like these bags. One is big enough to hold two sets of warm water gear.
Gregory L  Yes, there is a handle on the end opposite the wheels. It's located in the middle of the end panel and works well for rolling the bag short distances. Enter an answer to this question.
MARC G  Yes. Handle on top to use while "pulling"/rolling the bag. Buy it. Great bag. My wife loves it.
PATRICK R  There is a handle on the end opposite the wheels. It is in the middle of that end.
ROGER M  Yes there is a soft handle with a plastic hadle in the center it is adjustable
Julie W  There is a handle with a rubber grip located at the opposite end of the wheels. It is located dead center of the end or in the middle. Pulls Awesome, even when drastically overloaded.
James R  Yes there is!
RODNEY B  It's in the middle.
William P  Will long free diving fins fit?
Glenn C  up to fins 30 inches in length
Julie W  The bag is approximately 31" long.
RODNEY B  I have this bag , very good size to hold all your gear. I would say yes.
JOE C  bag is 30 inches long. only about 2 inches could be gained positioning fins diagonally. bending or deforming fins could gain a little more. if fins more than 30 inches tip to tip look for a larger bag. 32 inches max.
MICHAEL A  Depends on how long they are, but probably not. The stated length is 30" you'd only 33" along the diagonal. Personally I'd strap them to the outside. The stated length is 30". It's a great bag. We don't use this bag on flights, it folds very compactly and we use it to and from the beach or boat.
MARC G  not sure of the size of free dive fine. Check the dimensions of the bag on SP website - knock off an inch or 3 - as internally - not much difference as the mesh is thin. Just a little space lost on the wheel end. Overall - love the back. Scored for my wife to use on recent Maui trip and bag is cavernous. Holds full gear- bc - reg bag- wetsuit and still room for a dry bag with towel and clean clothes inside. No spine makes bag a little floppy - but that is why we liked it. Lighter than other wheeled bags and folds up nicely. We took on small dive boats and the bag easily fit under seat once all gear set up. Bottom line - I'd buy it again in a minute. But you need to measure your fine to confirm. For scuba - we love it.
RANDY P  Don't think so. My seawings take up pretty much the entire length
J H  Yeah probably. Pretty big like 3+ feet. Good bag. I like it
MARK M  I don't know.
