Very well made fin. Takes some practice

By Capt T.

Very well made fin, a little wierd to look at, but they acutally WORK!! Love being able to walk in the fins. The release catch is stiff and requires a little practice to get use to.

They really work...

By COLIN R.

They really work... you can walk in them, heck, you can even dance in them. They are very solidly constructed, with some non-slip rubber under the foot pocket to avoid slipping on pool decks. Really useful for tec divers staggering around with sling tanks under each arm, but nice for the rest of us too. The two big knocks that I had read were (i) hard to engage in the water, and (ii) if you dive without a fullsuit, they rub the front of your legs. I didn't find either to be the case - one...

Just imagine...a high performance fin you can also walk in when entering and exiting the water...who knew? The days of dragging your fins in and out of the water are finally over! Dynamic Scuba Fins (or "flip fins") are a totally new class of fins. Take them out once and you will never go back to traditional fins. The revolutionary and durable Aqua-Hinge Mechanism and highly efficient non-vented blade design provide an essential combination of performance and safety for Scuba divers at all levels. For swimming, no other open heel fin can match the power and comfort provided by the Amphibian, which features a prominent central web configuration contributing to increase propulsion and reduced load required during sustained kicking.

A natural evolution within the dive industry, the Amphibian Fin System is designed to be strapped on prior to entering the water and removed after exiting. The heavy duty springs push the soft blade webbing up to ride gently against the shin while on the surface. This makes walking, climbing boat ladders and other movements as easy as wearing no fins at all. Once in the water, the Amphibian blades are flipped down into swimming position by simply kicking naturally in the water, and flipped back up by pushing back on the release levers before getting out.

The fins are manufactured with the finest of materials. The blades are made from a combination of soft, durable thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) and a more ridged TPE. The soft TPE web is designed to increase propulsion and reduce the load required for sustained kicking and the more ridged TPE blade inlays increase coefficient of friction on blade. The Aqua-Hinge is a heavy duty hinge featuring 316-military grade anti-corrosive stainless steel springs. The fins come equipped with durable rubber fin straps that have an oversized thumb loop and squeeze-style" side-release buckles all for easy donning and doffing.Fins are available in multiple sizes and colors. Fins are proudly made in the USA.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Doc W  I would use these fins in a "float-tube" for flyfishing. I wear BOOTFOOT waders that have a somewhat large, fixed shoe (as opposed to booties or a wading shoe.) Should they fit???
TYRONE S  Yes you could. I would check to see if the manufacturer was still in business. Last I heard they were not.
WILLIAM S  Hi, They probably won't fit. I also have bootfoot waders & could not use them, I wear a size 11-12. Hope this helps.
STEVEN L  I do believe that the Flip Fin will fit waders (I just checked the size of both my waders, my dive boots and the boots on my dry suit. There seems to be little difference in there size.
DENNIS P  I wear a large fin normally and had to buy pads because of so much room. my wife has the medium fins and they even feel large on me. I have a wide foot and that's not a problem. the bootfoot might be somewhat larger though.
MIYUKI S  I would recommend going up a size with those waders.
STEVE A  I am not sure about the fit but walking in water with the fins "up" in current is difficult as the force against your leg is multiplied in moving water. I find them most useful when walking on a flat deck boat
ADAM K  If you are talking about those velvet bottom shoes. I think fly fishers wear. Probably it might help to go a size bigger if possible.
LAWRENCE M  I'm curious about the overall size of these fins. Can they be carried in the plane on a carry on? Does anyone have the actual size of the fin when it is open? That alone would make me buy it.
JOHN M  These are full size ocean fins, 2 feet from heel to tip. They would be very awkward in a carry on bag. They do, however, have an extremely strong stroke, ghiving you a lot of distance for a small effort. They are also very durable; I've been using mine (approx. 4 dives a month) for 5-6 years.
JASON S  I don't know about being carried on a plane, I don't fly, but the dimensions are 26 3/8"long x 9 3/8" wide without the strap on. Mine came with a cary bag-approx. 32"x11" enough room for fins and a mask in it's protective case, also has a zippered pouch that is big enough to cary my 2 snorkles and a spare set of gloves. My fins are size XL.
DANIEL S  I have a pair of extra large Flipfins. I'm not sure if other sizes have different dimensions. The over all length is 26 inches long when the blade is straight out and 9 1/4 inches wide at the widest part of the blade. When the blade is flipped up, its about 19 inches, and the foot pocket is about 12 inches long I use mine at the local aquarium, where at the entry point there is no chair or place to lean, so other people have to have someone to hold on to for balance while they put their fins on, I just walk up and step right in. Dan S.
GREGORY K  I have a large pair of the fins, and they're about 26 inches in length when extended. They're easily transportable on a plane. Be sure to get the individual inserts, too. GK
LAWRENCE M  Thanks Gregory, What about putting them in a 21 inch carry on, will the fit when opened up? I tried a short pair of fins once, but not enough kick. These I think would work if I could get them into a carry on.
GREGORY K  At 26 inches, they'll "fit" but you won't be able to close the carry-on bag because the fins will extend by 5 inches. Why not buy a pair, try them once, and if they don't work to your satisfaction, return them.
DERWOOD A  I'm 6'4" and they hit me about 15" up my leg, or 3/4 of the way up my shin, when in the up position. Don't see why they wouldn't fit in a carry or or a plus 1. Love them by the way. Everybody calls me a transformer when I wear them. I lack an ACL in my right leg and balance can be difficult, especially backing up. Flipped up, I don't have to worry about my fins getting stepped on. Once in the water, one good kick locks them. Coming out, you pop them open with your heel and climb the ladder. The big advantage there is if you get knocked off the ladder with a wave or pulled from the boat by the current, you're still wearing them so you can reengage them, swim back to the ladder, and flip them up again.
Shopper  What is the main difference between the Omega Classic Scuba Fin and the Stealth Rescue fin?
LeisurePro S  The rescue fin is shorter and more streamlined than the classic fin giving you more power and thrust in the water. The rescue fins also come standard with spring straps while the classics have the standard fin heel strap.
Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Juan W  I used the product before. My previous set failed and needed replacement.
LYNN S  I Had a pair before and they worked extremely well until the toe clip broke on one. I use them for float tube fishing and can walk in and out of the water with them. The system is much more efficient than trying to put fins on in the water
MICHAEL L  I need fins that will allow me to put them on before I enter the water,
LINDA S  Previous purchase and was very satisfied with the product. They were stolen from my household goods so I have to replace them. PADI dive instructor and they make teaching very easy.
Michel L  Practical on a boat
Charles N  I've had flip fins for 6 years now and love everything about them. I'm getting another pair in mine. Six years and they case I lose one of mine. Six years and they still work great.
STEVE A  great for exiting a boat
ANDREW Z  Make my dive day alot more enjoyable, one less item to carry into the water with
