Dry

By JAWS

Kind of heavy/draggy for diving, but very dry for snorkeling. Used it to snorkel w/ whale sharks and it worked great. Mouthpiece is a little hard on the gums. Very helpful in rough water.

Great Snorkel

By South M.

I bought this used for $25.00, a really great deal and leisure pro shipped it right away and I got it in less than 1 1/2 weeks (I live in American Samoa...way down in the south pacific). Awesome service.

The Ultra-Dry Snorkel by Oceanic remains practically desert dry, even when at depth. Oceanic's patented dry snorkel technology eliminates water from entering the barrel while still allowing easy airflow and comfortable breathing. The Ultra-Dry boasts of an ergonomic design that reduces resistance and drag when snorkeling, a drop-away corrugated section will keep the snorkel out of your way when it isn't in use and reduces jaw strain when you're snorkeling.

Do you chew on your snorkel mouthpiece? If you do not to worry, like a regulator the Ultra-Dry Snorkel comes equipped with a replaceable 100% liquid silicone rubber mouthpiece that is also extremely comfortable for hours of snorkeling fun. Water drains quickly and easily through the one-way purge valve below its mouthpiece and the dual exhaust valves on the bottom. Best of all, water is eliminated with very little effort by the user. The Ultra-Dry Snorkel comes with a "quick-lock" clip to attach/detach from your mask.

This product can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.

Good and bad

I like this snorkel when it works. When I can't get air through it I don't like it so much. The float at the top of the barrel has become jammed in place several times and will not allow air to pass through. It is simple to un-jam it but you shouldn't have to. I'll stick to "semi-dry" snorkels as I have not found any of these completely dry snorkels to work perfect all the time. You can take out the float and have a dependable semi-dry snorkel but then what's the point? I'll recommend i...

Even deserts get rain

By Mr W.

Dry valve did it's job on the surface but only about 1/3 of the time for shallow dives. Another negative is how easily the dry mechanism pops apart, releasing little plastic components to Davey Jones.

true to its word - dry snorkel

By Linda

The snorkel is great. With other snorkels you need to save some 'air' to purge when you get to the surface, well with this snorkel you dont have to. If in the event that you got water in there it was very easy to purge. Great purchase.

Best dry snorkel yet!

By deepbluediver

Great for all types of diving. If you don't like saltwater in your mouth this is the best dry snorkel I have used so far.

Great snorkel while I had it

By Marcus D.

I used this snorkel on about a dozen dives before losing it on an acrobatic boat exit in the Carribean. I think the clip works fine, I just wasn't able to hold onto it during my water entry and just like that it was gone. It worked as advertised, very dry, purge is very simple and effective. Mouthpiece got a little uncomfortable during a very long (2 hours +) snorkel session. As mentioned by an earlier review, the plastic dry cover comes off very easily, but I never had it pop off during use.

Great Performance

By Bunglepicker

Absolutely dry - even when I tried to flood it (depth or near surface) I couldnt make it fail. Mechanisms are sound and mouth fatigue even after 4 hours in the water wasnt bad. Defintiely recommended.

Great snorkel until I lost it

By Benjamin

As stated in prior reviews, this snorkel remains dry even in heavy swells. The plastic piece at the top does come apart if dropped but it is easily reassembled. Unfortunately, I lost this during a dive (probably) when entering the water from a boat. This may be the result of a mismatch between the clip style and the mask it was attached to.

My wife and 7 yr old son very satisfied

Excellent Snorkel

Reduce or make a special for canadian buyers...too expensive for obligation of taking express shipping.

Awesome snorkel!

By Snorkel C.

Dry as it states. Used it several times in Maui. I tried to dive under the surface and inhale and it won't let you, it's true to it's guarantee. I wish it was able to switch over to the right side of your head since I've just been used to snorkels being on the right side of my head, but it's no big deal. The mouthpiece is angled preventing this, but it makes it comfortable. Gave me lots of confidence even with waves, etc.

it does what it says

By t_rut

believe the hype...it works just as described...very minimal if any water entry and the mouth piece is very comfy

Ultra Dry Snorkel

By Enoc G.

completely ultra dry. it seals instantly in rough waves or when submerged and i havent tasted a drop of water while using. I'm extremely happy with it and definitely recomend it.

UltraVeryDry Snorkel (^_^)

By Ed C.

Nice and lightweight snorkel. As stated, it is dry. as soon as water from a swell or a wave hits it it shuts right up even when u dive with it no water gets through. Only 2 things about it that bothers me. One is the mouthpiece is somewhat small and hard. after a using it for a long period my jaw hurts, but that was taken care of by replacing the mouthpiece. Another is that while it does stay dry when even when u free dive, as soon as u surface, half the time u'll end up sucking in water through the purge valve diaphragm. The diaphragm seems to get stuck open/wedged on the slits where it rests from probably the water pressure when u dive pass 10ft. Maybe it's just mine. oh well, doesn't matter. i'll still buy another one (^_^)

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
T. Anders M  Online research indicated this product was best for pure snorkeling activities.
Shopper  Would this be good for spearfishing?
RODNEY B  yes
CHRIS B  I've never been spearfishing but I can say this is the best snorkel I've ever had. Been using it for 4 years no problem. It stays totally dry even in wave conditions.
Shopper  hi, I am wondering if I should get the regular size or the mini. I am 5'6", but fairly small frame and some mouth pieces in the past have seemed a little on the large size for me. Not sure if the mini would be too small though.
LeisurePro S  The mini size of this snorkel was designed specifically for women and people with smaller frames. It should work out great for you (it's not so small that it's for children, say).
