Amazing BC

By Diver D.

Amazing BC. The IWS makes this BC really comfortable compared to using a weight belt. Construction makes everything feel lighter than it really is.

This BC is great!

By Jon

This BC is well made, and has all the features we wanted. It is very light, and the handle on the back makes it easier to carry, when your tank and weights are added. We have had no problems with it. Bought it for my daughter, and now I want one for myself!

Built like a tank. An economical jacket for the diver who wants to keep it simple, the OceanPro Jacket Style BCD features the same quality workmanship, comfort and fit that you expect from Oceanic. Fadeless 500 Denier Ballistic Nylon Construction: The OceanPro 1000D air cell seams are radio frequency (RF) welded from a fadeless 500 denier nylon. Exterior abrasion points are covered in Oceanic's fadeless 1600 denier ballistic nylon - tough stuff that will hold up to years of extreme diving and keep that "new look" longer. Alliance Integrated Inflator: Ergonomically designed to be functional and easy to use in any dive position, the Alliance Integrated Inflator provides a full range of airway exhaust/inflation control. Simply press a button to produce precise flow for trimming dive attitude or maximum flow for major changes in buoyancy. A large exhaust valve creates a flow rate higher than the inflation rate of the power inflator, improving diver control during ascents.

Adjustable Cummerbund: Oceanic's cummerbund offers up to 8" (20.3 cm) of adjustment to fit a wide range of sizes. For additional customization, the cummerbund may be easily changed with another size. Padded Backpack: Extra heavy duty padding provides comfort both above and below the surface without having to sacrifice the stability of a hard backpack. 2 Large Main Pockets: Enough room to store your OceanPro 1000D Light, extra Shadow Mask, Pocket Snorkel, or P.S.D.!

Patented QLR (Quick Lock & Release) Weight Integration System: The OceanPro 1000D may be purchased with or without Oceanic's patented QLR Quick Lock & Release System. If you choose not to buy them with your BC, you will have 2 additional storage pockets and may add the QLR Weight Pockets at any time. Your weights stay in position throughout the dive and do not shift around affecting buoyancy or position in the water. The weight pouches are simple to load and easy to release. Best of all, Oceanic's patented "positive-lock" system helps to ensure that they'll stay put (for optional weight pockets see: SKU: OCNWPQLR4).

The BCD's waist strap and torso shoulder adjustment straps have squeeze-style" quick-release buckles for easy of donning and doffing. A padded backpack, carry handle and molded tank cradle/anti-slip pad are all standard with the Ocean Pro BCD. BCD is equipped with 8-plastic D-rings. The BCD has an adjustable cummerbund and single cam cylinder band. The Oceanic Ocean Pro BCD provides from XS: 20 lbs. to 48 lbs. (9.1 to 21.8 kg) of lift depending on the size. BCD comes with a 3/8" threaded low-pressure quick-disconnect, hose and an owner's manual.

This product can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.

[...]pass on this one.

We use this BCD for Openwater Classes, the pouch system appears to be the same as the probe but is not. The pouch will not hold the weights in place, they slide out during a dive and hang by the quick release buckle. Not very safe, I am surprised this one got past the Quality Assurance department. Price and a sloppy weight release systems keep this BCD from being a top performer. Pass, pass, pass.

Wanted a cheap, integrated weights BCD

By KEVIN B.

Haven't yet figured out how to keep the inflator hose out of my face when taking photos, but I'll get it figured out. Otherwise, I have no complaints. Only been on one short trip with it, but I seemed to have far less aggravation with my tank rolling around with me as with my 20 year old Fathom BCD.

Good beginner BCD

This has been a great BC for the price.

Very good BC

By Depth F.

The BC has performed great in any condition. The weights have never came out or anything like that. A very good BC.

Work Horse

By Old D.

I have logged 89 dives with this BC and it works as it did on day one, perfectly. I don’t need all these bells and whistles that come with most BC’s. This BC does its job and that’s what I want. I recommend it to anyone who is a serious diver.

Excellent BC for the price

By scuba q.

they exchanged it just fine but you do have to pay for the return shipping. I would suggest going to a shop and trying them on first.

Did most want the side inflation bladders. Looked for back plate bladders. My bad. Didn't look at specs close enough.

Solid, Basic BCD on a Budget

By Diver

This is a no thrills BCD, but it's comfortable to wear and easy to dive with. Great for beginners. I wasn't expecting much for the price, and this BCD is functional enough for my needs now. I may need to upgrade as I develop more skills, and get into more technical types of diving. Two features this BCD does not have that I wish it did: trim weight pockets in the back, and more D-rings to attach accessories on. Still, not a bad BCD if you are looking for a basic, get out and get wet piece of gear.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Shopper  I am 5'11" and wear a size 30 and weigh 145 should i get the small or medium ?
IRMA A  i would recomend a medioum, thats what i use and those are my dimensions
NANCY D  I would go with Small or XS as these tend to run big. If you get a good fit through the midsection, you can usually adjust the straps to get a good overall fit. Good luck.
CHRIS F  I bought this one for my wife. I have a different brand, but am the same build and have a med/lg.
KARL B  It's a tough call for me, I'm 6'0" and weigh 235. I have an XL, which was what the Oceanic website recommended. I have nothing bad to say about this BCD; it helped tremendously with my buoyancy control and also was nice taking that weight belt off of my middle, which helped with back issues after diving. Good luck!
ANGELA C  Medium. I love this Bcd. It's held up well and I still use it.
JOHN C  You didn't specify a gender, so based upon Oceanic's sizing chart you are too tall for a small, but your weight and waist measurements are small for a medium. SIZE HEIGHT WEIGHT CHEST WAIST XS 5'0"-5'5" 100-125 26-36" 28-36" SM 5'2"-5'7" 120-155 30-40" 30-38" MD 5'7"-6'0" 150-175 34-44" 32-40" LG 5'11"-6'2" 180-210 38-48" 34-42" XL 6'2"-6'5" 195-240 40-50" 38-46" I only stock larges in my rental gear, but I am guessing that you should buy a medium, especially if you are diving in a 5 or 7mm wetsuit. A small would have too short a waist, unless you have an extremely short waist for your height. Of course, the best option is trying on any Oceanic BC and seeing how it fits. Oceanic's sizes across all of their BC's are pretty consistent, so trying on any of their BC models would give a good idea of what size you need. Be sure to wear the thermal protection you will be wearing to dive when you try it on.
Shopper  Does it have trim pockets in the rear? I need about 30 lbs of weight, can this hold it?
LeisurePro S  There are no trim weight pockets in the rear of this BCD. The integrated pockets can hold up to 20 pounds. If you want, check out the Oceanic Cruz BCD, which has a max of 20 pounds dumpable weight plus 10 pounds of trim weight capacity.
Shopper  Can I order this with the Air 2 system installed?
LeisurePro S  Yes, if you call our sales department at 888-805-3600, they will be happy to set up the custom order for you.
