I am amazed at how stretchy this hooded vest is, compared to my old school vests. You may want to try sizing down a size due to its "stretchyness", but it is very comfortable and easy to don/duff.

As I started getting older I found I got chilled easier as I went diving, even while wearing a full 3mm wetsuit in the 80 degree Caribbean. I needed a little extra insulation without stepping up to a cumbersome 7mm suit. This vest was the perfect solution. I wore it on over my 3mm wetsuit. It gave me the extra warmth without the extra bulk.
The size chart was actually fairly accurate. A large worked fine for me (5' 11", 165 lbs).

How stretchy is this? My measurements are on the higher end of a size 4, and I'm unsure if the 4 might be a little small or if the 6 might be way too big

also make sure to be familiar with our PFF program in case a return for size exchange is needed.. size charts only go so far and putting it on will tell you for sure.

All of the XSPAN line is very stretchy, including this vest. i have never had trouble getting my head through the neck hole even when it's snug. You want it to be snug, to be warm. If it's nice and snug, wear it inside your wetsuit. If it's not so snug, you could wear it on the inside or even on the outside of the wetsuit. Either way, it will do its job. i have loaned mine to someone smaller than me, and it was a little loose on her. She wore it inside her wetsuit, and it was still very warm. i consider a hooded vest to be essential dive gear; it can keep you from aborting a dive when otherwise (without it) you'd be too cold.

I think it’s pretty stretch so you should be fine. Tighter is better than looser.

Both very stretchy vests from sister companies. The Thermoprene PRo is slightly more stretchy and under Henderson brand ( Henderson owns Neosport) ... still the neo Xspan is a very stretchy material and both have the same cut. The henderson also has a one way valve at the hood for air to escape and keep water out while the Nesport has a pinhole for air top escape.

All reviews and questions seem to focus on diving. I'm a distance swimmer - how does this work for flexibility, turning head, etc.?

I really like this! I bought it to add a layer to my wetsuit while surfing in the winter months, and it definitely helps. I do notice that my vision is obscured to the sides when I am trying to paddle into a wave and looking behind me. It could be because I have a small head. Hope this helps!

It is flexible but it might be a little awkward for swimming on the surface with a lot of head turning. I use it primarily for Scuba.

Your measurements are very similar to mine, although my chest size is 36-A, I ordered size 8 and it fits well. If your chest is C or larger I would recommend a size 10.

Leisure Pro doesn't remind me what size I ordered, but I think it was a medium. I'm bigger than you, though smaller in the bust. I think you should go with a small, but try it on for comfort. Leisure Pro is good about returns.
