The only fin you'll ever need

By Stan

I bought these fins right before an internship in Little Cayman, Cayman Islands. Let me first say the folks at LeisurePro were super helpful with the return and shipping me the proper size the day before my trip. I've done it all with these fins- from conducting coral surveys on reef crests barely a foot deep, to pinnacle diving on Grand Cayman at 105 feet and freediving to the bottom of the Kittiwake wreck. They are pretty powerful when you use them correctly, so it definitely takes some ...

LOVE these fins!

By KYLA K.

LOVE these fins! They are so easy to slip on and off, especially for beach diving. They are neutrally buoyant and don?t feel heavy underwater. They have a lot of kicking power and aren?t super hard to maneuver

Avanti Quattro + Open Heel Fin

Mares Quattro fans listen up! Mares' development engineers have subjected the world's best-known fin to a fine tuning. The result is the ‘Avanti Quattro +’. The legend lives on

Mares fins, such as the Quattro, Volo, and X-Stream models, stand for the highest requirements for open heel fins in diving. They are the result of continuous development and research at Mares HQ. Nevertheless, the fin development team asked themselves how could the ‘Quattro’ – a legend among fins – be improved even further? Incredible, but true – the result is the Avanti Quattro +.

CENTER OF POWER. EDGE OF PERFORMANCE

The most sold diving fin in the world now redefines itself. Greater responsiveness paired with traditional thrusting power optimizes ultimate performance. This fin can handle any and all diving conditions while leaving the others behind. Featured with Mares' new bungee strap, donning and doffing is simple and efficient.

Avanti Quattro +

Countless computer simulations and field tests were performed, until the Quattro + was perfected. The result is noticed immediately: The fin can be operated "more smoothly" and the enhanced energy transmission (foot-foot pocket interface) is not only noticeable, but measurable.

The legend's design has been adjusted as well, with the Quattro + available in a range of vibrant colors to customize your dive style.

Avanti Quattro +

When developing Channel Thrust technology, Mares dedicated itself to new forms which would allow for remarkably improved performance, meaning greater thrust with less effort. Focus was given to how water channelling could be improved and, at the same time, how the so-called ‘dead angles’ of a fin stroke could be minimised.

Avanti Quattro +

During the fin’s movement, only some of the displaced water is sent in the direction of movement. Unfortunately, some of it flows over the sides of the blade and does not contribute to thrust, only causing a decrease in efficiency. With the revolutionary design of Mares’ Avanti fins, the channelling of fluids is maximised and, contemporarily, a quantity of water is moved which is notably greater compared to other fins of similar dimensions.

Channel Thrust technology: Maximum thrust with minimum effort!

Avanti Quattro +

The Avanti Quattro + non-vented fin exceeds the established performance of the traditional model thanks to the use of composite materials Tecralene, Thermoplastic Rubber that optimize efficiency. The Avanti Quattro + provide greater responsiveness and thrusting power with an even more attractive look. New bungee straps are provided as standard issue. Straps are equipped with large grasp-loops for easy donning and doffing. Proven Channel Thrust Technology makes the fin versatile and ideal in all diving conditions.

The stabilizers improve stability and eliminating ankle twisting phenomena. The anatomical foot pocket conveys more power to the blade. Mares design is inspired by marine mammals. Channel thrust technology maximizes the channeling of water and moves a much greater amount of water compared to other fins of the same size. The result is greater thrusting power with the same amount of effort. Fin is available in multiple sizes and colors. The regular size fin blade measures 15" (38cm), weighs 32 oz. (907 g) and has a blade surface area of 120.9 cubic inches (780 cubic centimeters).

Questions about this item:

Shopper  What size for men's 7.5 3mm hard sole tropical bootie?
darrick c  Hello, you would need a size Small.
Shopper  Are their any strap fins that do not require boots? Thanx
Kevin M  I'm 6'-4" tall. I'm a big man with big wide feet. On top of that I have a high instep. I wear a US size 15 EEE shoe. The bottom of my feet measure (30cmX12cm).  Would the XL Fit me with or without socks?
RONALD P  I can only guess that they are not big enough. I only have size 12 shoes, but my wet suit boots have large, hard soles. They are just barely large enough to get over my feet and boots.
thomas M  I wear 13, with bootie, i believe you should have enough cup on the foot to still have decent leverage while kicking with 15s. I also think the strap should sufice
CHESTER S  These are great fins, but you've just got to try a pair to make sure - ideally while actually diving.
Chuck S  How do I add the extender to the open heel band?
Timothy J  The clips pop off their pegs; with some force and gumption. Open heel fins are top notch! Make sure your extender still allows for the thumb loops, as they’re an essential design part. Hope this helped,
JOHN F  how are these fins for women 30 dives 62 years old?
SCOTT K  They would be perfect. They are great all around fins and they are not too stiff if your legs aren’t to powerful
