I enjoy my Hollis Elite II but I had concerns about the contact of the backplate to my wetsuit or drysuit. Even though the backpad is optional I would recommend getting one. The practical reasons are comfort and safeguarding your exposure suits but I would add 'looking good' to the list. Just check the screws regularly since they can juggle loose over time.

Nice comfy pad with a pocket.

It works like it is supposed to. Book screws are easy to put in. The people I was diving with were jealous that I had a pad.

Being a technical diver does not mean you have to uncomfortable when you are diving. Add some cushion and comfortable support to your back plate with this Hollis Back Plate Back Pad with Book Screws. Pad is easy-to-install with six book screws to fasten to your back plate. Pad is constructed of sturdy and durable nylon and foam with sewn edge tape making your dive a more comfortable experience. The Hollis Back Plate Back Pad with Book Screws is compatible with Hollis Back-Plates (see SKU's: HLSSBP, HLSABP).

This product can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.

Questions about this item:

donny hm l  By any chance the hollis backplate pad will fit the zeagle backplate ?
Vincent K  I cannot say 100% for certain without being able to measure the hole alignment on the Zeagle backplate, but by comparing the pictures together the holes appear to be very closely matched.
Evan B  More than likely as the backpad I bought fit an off brand from eBay. But I returned my of as the book screws don't feel secure when tight and you can't feel a pad when diving anyway. I dive my backplate with doubles and go with a t shirt and no pad and I'm perfectly fine. Consider before buying.
donny hm l  Absolutely true, one don't feel anything under the sea but the screw head occasionally scratch my wetsuit, purely cosmetic reason but thanks for your advice
NELSON R  I can't confirm or deny as I don't own a Zeagle backplate. However, it is my experience that most manufacturers will put holes in the same locations. If you would like, I can send you a diagram with measurements of where the holes are and distances between all the holes.
Shopper  Is there any info on how much buoyancy, if any, this would add my rig? I currently dive a Hollis S25 wing mounted on a Hollis aluminum BP w/ a Med/Lg size Hollis Elite II harness & Zeagle weight pockets. My rig is comfortable when I'm wearing my wetsuit (Pinnacle 3mm full w/a thick spine pad) but when I've worn it w/just a rash guard in the pool (haven't actually dove w/out wetsuit yet) the hard plate is uncomfortable against my back.
MARK G  I did not notice any difference in my buoyancy with the backpad. it's more of a cover and does not have much, if any padding. It does help with the backplate against my back.
MICHAEL V  i am using the same rig except for the weightpockets (using dive rite) and i didnt notice any change to my bouyancy with the pad. there might be a slight change but if so it is so insignificant i woulnt worry about it
