Nice but sized small

from Green Bay, WI, US

Order one or two sizes bigger than you think. I normally take a medium or large. I ordered an XL ad it still is kind of tight. I like it though.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Evija V  Do you tuck the hood into the wetsuit? Does it then leak water into the suit?
Nicholas A  I am dreadfully sorry for the typos, I wrote it on my phone walking between meetings. It should be * hood and * tucks.
DONGZHENG U  No, I never tuck it into the wetsuit.
David N  Nope. It’s just long enough to cover the neck and will not interfere with any wetsuit or drysuit seals.
Evija V  Thank you! I also want to let you know that I just heard back from Fourth Element with this: The 5mm hood is designed as a drysuit hood and works perfect with our Proteus. The best way to wear it is to have the bottom seal overlap the top of the suit. No need to tuck in the hood as it would break the seal and you may encounter water flush that way.
CAMERON S  Yes, you tuck it in, and no, it doesn't cause any extra leakage - the neoprene of the suit and the hood are pretty snug against each other (or no less snug than without the hood, anyway).
Evija V  Thank you! If you wear a Fourth Element wetsuit with the Hydrolock neck seal, do you then tuck the hood between the the Hydrolock neck seal and your neck skin or between the Hydrolock and the outer layer of the wetsuit?
CAMERON S  Ah, sorry, no experience with that kind of suit.
Nicholas A  The hood length at the neck does not go into the wetsuit, rather sits at the edge of the neck of the wetsuit opening. If you want a good that ticks into the wetsuit neck opening, you would want a good with a bib.
Shopper  I know most of the fourth element fit small. I have a hooded vest and undergarments. Do you think I should go a size up on the hoods?
JORGE G  I would recommend you do...I use a size M hood in any other brand but with FE I need a size L
