Blue Steel Tank Boot

Fit perfectly on my 40 ft3 pony bottle.
All Scuba cylinders need a tank boot to protect the lower surface from damage. The steel cylinders need a tank boot even more with their round bottom design. The boot allows the tank to stand up straight on a stable flat surface making mounting of buoyancy compensators, harness systems and regulators easier. Blue Steels tank boots are specially made for Faber steel cylinders. These self-draining flexible PVC boots are easy to assemble to the tank and provide a streamline profile for tank racks or double cylinder set-ups. The boots are available in multiple sizes to fit the 5.5", 6.7" to 6.9", 7" to 7.24", 8" diameter Faber cylinders.

What’s the thickness of the material? I need to know wether two will fit side by side on my 8in doubles, which have a narrow gap in between.
Mario C
With the 8”, I have roughly 2/16 – 3/16 inch in thickness.

Mario C
8 inches

Does the 5.5 inch size also have the internal side ribs for drainage ?
JOSEPH C
I just checked my tanks. My aluminum 80's all have tank boots and they have small ribs inside to assist with drainage. My smaller steel tanks with the 5.5 inch tank boots do not but as stated by someone else there are drain holes in the bottom. My experience has shown me that there is not a problem with drainage on the 5.5's.
ROBERT K
They are small, but they are there to aid drainage.

Never saw a tank boot with ribs on the side. This boot has 5 holes on the bottom for drainage. One in the center and four on the circumference. All are big - 3/4" to 1" in diameter. The boot drains very well.

I don’t think so but I haven’t had any corrosion issues

Mine came with ribbing?

I have a vintage 38 cu. ft. steel tank. I believe it's just over 6 1/2" in diameter. I haven't found any information on a boot size for it. I'm guessing 6.7" boot?

I have 2 old 1973 2640 psi tanks and the boots fit perfectly. Good luck.

The Faber boot comes in a 6.7/6.9 inch option. Measure the bottom diameter of your tank to verify its size. The boot is a tight fit that will stretch a bit. If your tank is a fraction off the 6.7-6.9 it might work so it’s probably worth a try. You can always get a refund.
Boot is durable, drains extremely well and has no angles around perimeter to poke you you in the back or damage wetsuit.

I bought this for my vintage steel 72, which has s circumference of 21.75 inches. Fits perfect.
