Good basic gauge with an easy to read face

By Austin L.

 -  Bryan, TX, US

I purchased this as an inexpensive pressure gauge to get into the water. I recently broke the gauge in on a five off the coast of North Carolina at a depth of 110 feet, and it worked without a hitch. The colored gauge made reading the dial easy, and the swivel head made it easy to always see the dial.

this Cressi spg is at a fair price, I have several and never had a problem.

Looking for a small and compact Submersible Pressure Gauge (SPG)? Maybe you need to replace your Cressi Mini SPG with a new one, whatever your need the Cressi Mini SPG without Boot is a great choice. Gauge is high quality instruments housed in a chrome plated brass case. The gauge has a luminescent face for easy reading in low light or night diving conditions. The front glass Lens is made to act as a pressure relief valve. In the event of a sudden increase-in-pressure inside the instrument, the glass rises slightly, allowing the excess pressure to escape. Pressure gauge is equipped with a 7/16" threaded high-pressure hose. There are two models to choose from. One model is imperial with pressure readings in psi and the other model is metric with pressure readings in bars.

The Mini-Manometer Pressure Gauge (imperial) dial reads from 0 to 5000 psi. For at-a-glance monitoring of air pressure the instruments face is divided into three different colored zones: the area from 600 psi and below is highlighted in red with a solid bar and red stripes. If Gauge is used on deeper dives, the red scale extends and fades to 1,300 psi, this provides for added reserve air indication required at greater depths. From 600 to approximately 3,000 psi is Green and from 3,000 psi to end of scale is Blue. The Mini-Manometer Pressure Gauge (metric) dial reads from 0 to 350 bars. For at-a-glance monitoring of air supply the instruments face is divided into three different colored zones: the area from 50 bars and below is highlighted in red with a solid bar and red stripes. If gauge is used on deeper dives, the red scale extends and fades to 100 bars, this provides for added reserve air indication required at greater depths. From 50 bars to approximately 200 bars are Green and from 200 bars to end of scale is Blue. The Cressi Mini-Manometer Pressure Gauge is made in Italy.

Leaking

The lining inside the high pressure hoses is likely pierced as both hoses purchased are leaking gas

Easy to read and use

By Lindsay B.

Simple SPG. Not much to say other than it's easy to read and use.

Exciting in a bad way

By martin r.

The spool o-ring failed on the second dive I used it. Lost 900 PSI on way back to the boat and the event was interesting to say the least...while the gauge is nice the massive leak was a little scary. Most likely just a defective o-ring from the factory. Easy 15 cent fix once back at the dive shop, but the leak ended the dive early.

Good back up gauge for my dive computer

By JEFFREY L.

I had my dive computer pressure reading go blank during a dive, all other information was available. My solution to this is a small gauge as a back up to the computer. The computer functioned correctly on the next dive. No idea why it lost display on the one dive.

CARL D  I am a diving minimalist, for this travel kit I need a back up to my computer so smaller is better, good price as well...
Lawrence C  no need to break the bank for a pressure gauge,
cs85b c  Does this come with the boot? Photo shows hose, but not gauge boot.
BRAD C  This SPG does not come with a rubber boot but the metal housing is pretty rugged and I have about 50 dives with no problem. I bought this model because it was small enough to route through the D-ring.
brent o  No boot
martin r  No boot
Jethead12 J  No, it does not.
MICHAEL C  No boot included.
cs85b c  I see now it clearly says without. Last night I was convinced it said with in the product name.
MICHAEL C  I use it as a back up to my wireless
cs85b c  Yeah that was my plan. Wireless is being sent to Suunto for recall now and I have a trip planned in 4 weeks...
Marcus Vinicius L  It comes without the gauge boot.
Kevin F  No boot, it has a metal housing.
fdocmac f  Hi. Display is tempered glass or some kind of plastic?
Tony G  It is plastic but it doesn’t scratch easily
Gary R  The front face is some kind of molded plastic, despite what the description says. It does scratch quite easily, but remains readable underwater.
fdocmac f  Cheers for the info, v. helpful.
