Good value for a day light

By KING B.

Small and easy to use, bright enough to look in holes and cracks during the day. Good value for the money. Have not used it at night.

Good backup light

By Robert B.

 -  Rockport, TX, US

This light is VERY bright for such a small package. DO NOT look directly at it!

The OrcaTorch D560 is a mini diving flashlight with only 3.54" (9 cm) length. Its max output can reach 630 lumens by using a single or AA 1.5 volt alkaline, and the longest runtime is 85-minuntes by using one AA battery. With robust water pressure resistant construction, reliable head mechanically rotary switch which offers high reliability underwater, and mini style appearance, D560 is the EDC (everyday carry) flashlight OrcaTorch specially designed for divers. Light uses a Cree XM-L2 (U2) LED with a 50,000-hour lamp lifetime expectancy. The light provides a 60° wide beam with a penetrating center 15° beam angle from its alloy aluminum reflector with professional optical analysis design. The light has a maximum beam distance of 390' (119 meters).

Water pressure resistant construction provides a depth rating to 490' (150 meters). High efficiency constant current circuit, constant brightness and reverse polarity protection, to protect from improper battery installation along with over-discharge protection function makes this one great light. Built-to-last from type III military tough aircraft-grade high strength aluminum material with the latest diamond grade hard-anodized seawater-corrosion-resistance finish and two sides 0.8" (2mm) coated toughened glass lens. When used with single AA alkaline battery the light provides 150 lumens of brightness with a burn time of 85-minutes with a beam distance of 240' (73 meters) on land and when powered by OrcaTorch 700 mAh lithium-ion 14500 battery the light provides 630 lumens of brightness with a burn time of 60-minutes and a beam distance of 390' (119 meters) on land. The Blue Reef Orca Torch D560 has a working voltage of 0.8 to 4.2 volts, is impact resistant when dropped from 3.3' (1 meter) and measures (L x Dia.) 3.6" x 0.79" (92mm x 20 mm) with a head diameter of 0.94" (24mm).The light weighs 1.68 oz. (47.5 g) without battery, comes with a spare O-ring, lanyard and an owner's manual.

VS

Most Liked Negative Review

Small, dim and inconvenient

You only get 630 lumens if you get a special battery, that is not provided. AAA batteries only 100 lumens. Very small and the only way to turn on is to twist the basil, which they say should not be done under water. So if you turn on before the dive the batteries only last an hour

Orca torch

By steve M.

from Ruther Glen, VA, US

Bought it as a backup. It won’t illuminate much during the day time if you’re using it to look under ledges, coral etc... But it will work fine at night as a backup to get you back to your exit, or to just to have it on so fellow divers know your position. Single alkaline AA battery last about an hour, the rechargeable lithium-ion last even less. It is brighter with the Li, but that’s the trade-off. But being water proof, I’m using it for most everything around the house in any weather condition, just keep replacing the battery. Gave it a 4 star because it is well built and small enough to carry along. Just not the best for conditions outside of a night backup.

Must use 14500 battery to love this lite.

By Martinez N.

from lake orion, MI, US

I've bought three so far. Off&on is done by twisting head. The most important thing to know is if you use regular battery you'll be disappointed. Order the 14500ah rechargeable they specify. The lumins increase greatly (4×). It will get a bit warm if used out of water.

Probably going to love it

By Robin G.

from Russellville, AR, US

I haven't had the opportunity to dive with it yet, but out of the box I think I am going to really like it. It is light [runs on 1 AA battery] but puts out quite a beam of light. It seems sturdy, so if it holds up under water the way it is advertised I will know I got a real bargain on this one.

Upstate Snorkeler

Used this torch in Grand Cayman and found it to work very well! While snorkeling at night on seven mile beach observed a variety of fish! Recommend this product!

Blue Reef flashlight

By Roger M.

from Auburndale, FL, US

It is a small but bright light. It has only one double A battery. It is great as a pocket flashlight fo swim through. I use it to backlight and remove shadows for my wife's underwater pictures. I would not use is as a primary light for night dives, but it would be a good backup in an emergency. It is a good light for short term use.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Fred A  These work great as a back up light for recreational dives. They also work great to attach to the nose of a scooter for scooter dives. Light, bright, and small
delbert s  Because it is a good light that I lost
Emily N  Can you turn the light on and off while underwater? One of the reviews and the notices in the product overview are confusing me.
RICHARD O  Yes you can
Martinez, N  Emily I love them. Ive bought three so far. Off&on is done by twisting head. The most important thing to know is if you use regular battery you'll be disappointed. Order the 14500ah rechargeable they specify. The lumins increase greatly (4×). It will get a bit warm if used out of water.
Robin G  Yes, you can easily turn the light on to any of the three light settings; and for each one if you press and hold the button it changes over to the blinking strobe setting. I like this light.
MANUEL H  Yes you can turn the light on and off underwater, simply twist the cap.
Roger M  Yes. You turn the top to turn it on or off. This is a small light.
JOHN E  yes you can
JEFFREY L  Yes, certainly - just by twisting the lens head. Easy.
Jeff B  You can, although it was not easy. My wife and I didn't actually like this light as it did not provide enough lamination and we purchased another, stronger one.
RAY Z  Will these fit in mounts for a helmet?
Bill L  You will have to figure out how to turn it on and off if you do mount it. Mine flooded on the first dive trip and was toast.
Martinez, N  I'm sure they would work fine. They are quite small and light. The output is ok with a AA battery, but is superior with a 14500 rechargeable.
SHANE P  Not sure. I would recommend a higher lumen light for that. I use this as a rescue light only
Roger M  I can't say for sure but I would doubt it.
Richard B  Not sure would fit in mounts? I used mine with strap on wrist. Worked pretty good!Enter
MANUEL H  The factory mount for this light is Leisure Pro #BLROMM. This mount is meant to be used on any sort of strap. Not sure what your helmet mount looks like.
Thomas H  Yes. I used a mil-sim helmet mount for a bump helmet. Worked just fine!
