Best Reg I've used

By Scott

This is by far the best reg I have used, light in the mouth and easy on air you really don't notice it's there at all. The swivel feature also means when you turn your head it doesn't tug at your jaw. I've used many brands and styles of regulator and if you're willing to spend a little bit of extra money you won't be disappointed by this one!

A breath of fresh air...

By Aloha M.

The Atomic B2 Regulator is sweet! It's light, breathes like you were relaxing at home, titanium makes care a breeze, warranty is lifetime and its service interval is 2 years or 300 dives!!! The swivel ball on the attachment to the second stage makes it feel like the reg isn't even there. Bubbles...what bubbles? The reg delivers your bubbles far off to the side. The optional extender is definitely not needed. The Atomic B2 Regulator is the most solid, comfortable reg I have ever used. Aloha!!!

Ergonomically designed to be the world's most comfortable second stage, the B2 is the next generation of the highly acclaimed Atomic B1 regulator. The B1 regulators have received more accolades from the diving press and independent test reviews than any other regulator in history for both performance and ergonomics. The B2 shares the identical first and second stage design and performance as the T1, the most notable difference being the metal (titanium) used in the T1. The B2 matches the industry's only all-titanium second stage with a compact high performance first stage of chrome plated brass and type 316 stainless steel. The second stage is so light in your mouth it almost floats.

The B2 is a balanced flow-thru piston design using Atomics jet seat high flow stainless steel piston. Exclusive high-pressure piston seal system is self-lubricating for low friction and low maintenance. The Atomic jet seat system has no sharp edges that can damage the seat over time, like most competitors' first stages. Instead, Atomic employs a conical seat and blunt end piston. Atomics' valve seats are precision machined from an extremely strong aerospace specification seat material. This design combination is the most reliable seat system in the industry and enables the seat to go 2-years or 300 dives without service. Diving performance is superior at even low tank pressure. The B2 is also freeze protected with a factory sealed first stage that also prevents contamination such as silt and sand from entering the valve mechanism. The regulator is Nitrox ready for mixtures Up to 40% out-of-the-box. The first-Stage has 2 high-pressure (HP) 7/16" and 5 low-pressure (LP) 3/8" ports.

The B2 Series second stage is a balanced linear flow design for extremely easy breathing at all depths and dive conditions. The B2 Series second stage is built-to-last with a titanium demand valve body, lever and sealing orifice. The diaphragm is made from high quality silicone rubber. This pneumatically-balanced poppet second-stage has Atomics patented seat saving dynamic orifice which unlike most second-stage orifices is a floating valve design which reduces wear on the second-stage poppet seat when the regulator is not pressurized adding life to this important seal.

The B2 series second-stage regulator is equipped with Atomics patented automatic flow control (AFC). This unique diaphragm activated vain automatically controls the flow and venturi-effect of the second-stage for optimum breathing resistance at all depths. The second-stage does have a soft over molded rapid adjustment knob for rare special situations. If you have ever experience the pulling effect" of the regulator second-stage when you turn your head underwater, those days are gone with Atomics comfort swivel. Perhaps one of the most admired features of Atomic second stages is the patented comfort swivel which allows 30° rotational movement without binding or kinking. The regulator comes equipped with a 3/8" threaded 32" (81.3 cm) low-pressure hose. The regulator weighs 2.5 lbs. (1,143 g) and comes with an owner's manual.

This product can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.

BEST REGULATOR YOU CAN BUY

By Lee M.

from Lebanon, PA, US

i bought my regs, a Z2 and a B2 several years ago and diving in fresh water and an ocassion salt water dive they worked perfect, easy breath very dependable, several years ago I moved to the Philippines and in two years I completed over 500 dives, the Regs still work great and no problems except a few leaks on my Z2 1st stage and my B2 worked great, I had them service, the tech said he didn't know how they could work so good the inside of the 1st stage was very bad and the second stages the same, the salt water did its toll on them but he rebuilt them and they both work great again. I love my Atomics and wouldn't dive with anything else Best Regs on the market.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Brian S  Warranty and service
MARK F  What is the difference, practically between sealed, and not sealed. Don't any advantages of being sealed disappear after it is opened up for it's first servicing?
MARK F  Thanks for you answer
Kasia W   If you dive primarily in cold waters, you need to make sure that the regulator youâ??re getting at least meets the European Standard for cold water regulators (as defined by EN250), which means that the regulator has been certified for use in water as cold as 2 to 4 degrees Celsius (35.6 â?? 39.2 degrees Fahrenheit). If the manufacturerâ??s documentation indicates that it meets US Navy Standards, thatâ??s even better. Those standards indicate that the regulator has been certified in waters as cold as 28 â?? 30 degrees Fahrenheit (-2.2 to -1.1 degrees Celsius). Design methods for achieving cold water certification vary, but in general it involves sealing the first stage and using a heat sink on the second stage to recapture some of the heat in the diverâ??s exhaled breath. If youâ??ll be diving in waters that are silty, sandy, or high in dissolved solids, youâ??ll want to get a regulator with environmental sealing as a feature. Your regulator will be resealed after being serviced.
NICHOLAS L  The 1st stage is sealed not the reg. Prevents water from entering when switching out tanks.
KURT G  As far as I know, it has to be resealed again. The sealed reg is for diving in cold weather and helps prevent the reg from freezing. At one point I was diving in a quarry with temps running about 46F which is pretty freakin cold. I don't do it regularly but thought why not be prepared if I do it again. Hope that helps.
RICHARD W  No, when the first stage is serviced (and thoroughly cleaned) it is resealed and reassembled.
Maverick K  When they say sealed all they mean is that the first stage has a filter inside when your remove the dust cap no small debris can get in. My Oceanic FDX is a sealed reg, for the little extra money I think its worth it and it also depends with how well you taker care of your reg. I am very meticulous with all my regs , its your lifeline , even when I do live aboards or charter boat dives I always politely ask the crew if I can attach my reg to their tanks. Ask fa as Atomics , BUY It !!!! That's how great their regs are, I went with the B2 and was gonna buy the T3, until I found out that the T3 still has brass internals and the only Titanium was the exterior of the reg, titanium internals is not Nitrox compatible and that's why the T3 is basically the same as the B2 . Hope this helps, and by all means if you have the money buy the T3 sealed its their top of the line unit !!!! Safe diving my friend - Maverick Hawaii Diver
MARK F  Thanks. But aren't all the regs nitrox compatible up to 40%.? Just not a higher %.
pearl v  whats the difference between the ST1 and the B2?
GREGORY T  About $200. Not enough info here to tell. I can tell you I've used a B2 with a M1 backup for 4 1/2 years in 30 degree freshwater and 85 degree salt water to depths I should not have been at. I've had a dozen regs. The B2 IS THE BEST. Save yourself some cash. G.
