Do you take the net off or leave it on when diving?
CHRIS C
leave it on it protects the tank from scratches and dings, and also helps keep the tank secure in the BCD straps
RANDY L
I take mine off when diving. Its easier to get on the BC
BILLY C
I take the net off. It slides on and off easily. It i protects the tanks from scratches etc. when transporting.

Personally I leave it on. It fits quite snugly and it is there for protection of the tank and they do get knocked over or dropped when in harness so why not leave it on. IMOHO

I take it off. It is a pain if you leave it on.
ROBIN B
I have seen divers do both. I take it off because I do not want anything to interfere with my tank being secure on my BC.
ORVILLE H
We leave it on all the time, the net and boot come off for annual inspections and Hydro's

I take it off; the net does a great job protecting the tank when it’s in the boat or being stored. When diving you really want your BC to attach to the tank directly and the BC will probably damage the netting. As soon as i get a second set of tanks I will buy netting for each.
VINCE C
Its really more to protect the finish when being banged aroun. I leave it on. :)

I have one on every tank and they stay on for years - never had to replace one. Also have boots on them all; because they both protect the tank from dings as well as protecting my boats from marks. A painted tank isn't too bad about rubbing off on a fiberglass boat; but bare aluminum will certainally leave marks you have to work at to remove. The only down-side to leaving nets on is if your BC strap won't open up enough just by unbuckling - it's hard to feed the strap over the top edge of the net. Most BCs will open enough, but it's close. I have a Scubapro, so the buckle will completely disengage allowing me to wrap it around - not slide it down. All my tanks are painted too.

I left it on to help keep the tank from slipping out of my BCD and to keep it from getting scratched up.

we leave it on. it keeps the tank from slipping
