Appears to be very high quality

By HUGH A.

Haven't tested it in the water yet but it seems to be very high quality out of the box. The cord seems a little tight, but that may be fine in the water.

Quality, well built Product

By Diver E.

Much better product than I expected. Quaility materials.

We always need to attach more stuff to our equipment to free up our hands when we need them. Lanyards for lights, cameras, gauges, game bags, or maybe even a fish stringer when spear fishing. Having a few spare clips in your gear bag is a must for the serious diver.

Low profile diving is smart diving! This patent pending design represents a breakthrough in equipment coil connectors as it eliminates the webbing used in traditional coil connectors. By eliminating the webbing the Smart Coil reduces the overall length of the connector which streamlines-you-dive-profile. One end of the unique lanyard has a non-corrosive 360° swivel locking gate clip for quick and easy attachment to a BCD D-ring or accessory. The opposite end is equipped with a steel split ring for attachment to gear or accessory.

The lanyard will hold your accessory item close-at-hand with its squeeze-style" side-release buckle. When you need to extend the accessory for use, simply squeeze the buckle and you can extended it out easily up to 36" (91.5 cm). Smart Coil Lanyard is available in multiple colors. Smart Coil Lanyard makes a handy item for your save-a-dive kit.

Plastic connection is a one-way connect. This can be a problem underwater when you need to rehook and move quickly.

I like these snaps

By obe-1

Bought this for use as a COBRA 3 computer console lanyard...still have to find good placement on bc but I will continue to use this..

Sturdy clip

By TSH

A bit bigger than I expected but no dramas; seems sturdy enough for most of my accessories.

Great accessory

By grubbyrat

Very reliable and easy to attach, the coiled cord provides plenty of maneuverability.

Works Great!

Arrived on time and in great shape.

Versatile coil lanyard

By ElliottM

I bought two of these - one to clip on a ContourRoam video camera housing, and the other to clip on my compact camera housing. I like that the overall length is relatively short when retracted and snapped together. I also found that I could use the coil as a wrist strap while snorkeing, which made the lanyard even more versatile for me.

great accessory

By Spearwolf

great lanyard for attaching a little light for looking holes when needed.

Great coil and great price

By SB

I use these coils for many different things - attaching my camera for personal diving and to attach my slates when teaching.

Good Torch Cord

By diver d.

I like this setup with the primary light for night diving. Clipped to any D ring you can keep this where you want it and release it on lanyard when needed.

Great little accessory

By Jeremiah G.

This makes it simple to clip it to a D-Ring on your BCD and go. I have it connect to my dive light for an easy grab. When I need it, I can unclip it with one hand, and clip it back. So far it has held up with no problems on about 15 dives. I like it because if it were to snag, it is plastic which can break easily or if the lanyard snagged, it can be cut easily. I would usually use bolt snaps but I wanted something that is retractable and this fits the bill great.

Works Great!

I used this for a one week vacation diving in St John USVI. Attached my Fujifilm XP200 underwater camera for easy access and easy connection. Never failed and got great video and Photos!

No more dropped knifes

By Dave S.

from Oklahoma City, OK, US

After almost loosing a nice titanium BCD knife with a sticky lock and then actually loosing it, I decided to buy this to secure my knife to my BCD. As soon as I roll in to the water and signal ok, I unsnap it and it's ready to be use. I bought a green to give a little contrast to all my gear.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
GREG M  cool color and good for dive lights :)
ROGER M  Not as great as I thought
Bob L  The other coil lanyards are WAY too long when coupled. this one is much more compact. I used it in the Bahamas for my big light and it worked fine.
Jill K  Will this work to secure a console?
MICHAEL G  No, it is not a good choice for that. because when unclipped, it will hang too far down. then you need two hands to clip it. for a console, i recommend a retractable lanyard. that springs back. this coil is more for gear that you only need to clip or twice during adive like a light or camera.
SIM M  Yes it will I believe :)
ALLISON R  Yes, although it would probably be too long when unclipped and too short when clipped. I use it for my dive lights, which I unclip during the dive. The lights hang down pretty low if I drop them because the coils stretch considerably. These are perfect for things like lights.
RIAZUDEEN M  Hi .... not sure what type of console ure thinking about ... but I use it for my dive lights and my underwater camera housing. I have an olympus TG3 camera housing .... it keeps it very secure and allows for movement when unclipped
SHAWN L  It is light weight and easy to release and reattach due to nice plastic connector so for entry and exits to the water it would do ok. I used mine for camera securing.
CHARLES M  Hello Jill, I have purchased a few of these Coil Lanyards, simply to replace my retractable lanyards that seem to break over a period of time, due to the spring loading, or the line that is used. I prefer this "Coil Lanyard" for holding my Dive Light. When I am really searching, I can un-clip, and have a couple feet of mobility, and then clip it back, to a shorter position, when I am ascending / descending. This "Coil Lanyard" is perhaps a bit too heavy for a simple Gauge Console, but it would work. I prefer a smaller retractable lanyard for my Gauge Console, since I simply let it go after I read it. Coil Lanyards are a bit more heavy duty than needed for a Gauge Console, but it will certainly work. I use my Coil Lanyard for my heavy 3,000 Lumens Dive Light. For a Gauge Console, perhaps consider a small retractor? Chuck M. Cape Ann Divers - Massachusetts
Shopper  What is the clipped size, end to end?
NAUM S  it is approx 8" in its natural coiled state. It will stretch to approx 24" comfortably. it will extend to approx 30" with a lot of force applied. Hope it helps.
MELANIE S  It stretches to about 2 feet if completely pulled taut.
SHAWN L  When closed the clip end to clip end is 5" Open will strech to 2.5 ft or a little more. It is quite compact.
