this is the way to go not to big for what you need its great if your going out to get those lion fish then this is the tool to get them with

Lionfish have become a plague to the Southeast US and the Caribbean. Our reefs are under attack and need help. The removal of Lionfish from these waters is part of the answer. Lionfish have piousness spins, but that poison does not affect the fish's flesh. Matter of fact Lionfish is a great fish to eat! Light, flaky and very delicious. There are all kinds of recipes to cook them from fluffy battered, Bahamian fried, to South Pacific Grilled, heck you can also make Sushi, taco's, jerky, and Lionfish ceviche!

Having the proper spear will allow you to bag this delicacy and save the reefs at the same time. Lionfish Mini Spear with Tip is the perfect size to carry on any dive you may encounter Lionfish. Small enough to not get in the way, yet always ready when you need it this 21" (53.3cm) long by 1/2" (1.3cm) diameter lightweight corrosion proof fiberglass shaft with a 6mm male thread and a removable 6" (15.2cm) stainless steel 6-prong tip is easy to fire just like a spear pole. Just run the durable 6" (15.2cm) latex rubber sling between your thumb and forefinger and while stretching it along the shaft your locked and loaded for action.

Save your money

Save your money, it is no more more than a stick with a point. Bulky and cumbersome.

First time I lined up a lionfish I nailed it. Same with the second time. Third time I hit one in the rear and it got away. Good weapon. Does the job.

Lightning fast shipping and great packaging. Just a great little spear. Perfect for what it is designed for.

Great Idea

By Lobster H.

I carry this spear while hunting for lobster in Florida. I use velcro ties to attach the spear to my lobster noose. It is handy and easy to release when I come upon a Loin Fish.

Great Compact Spear

By Divemaster P.

Great little compact spear. Does the job and if you need to add a little extra length use a paralyzer tip. It works well and fits into my gear bag.

Lionfish Killing Machine

By Captain B.

I used this spear effectively and killed approximately 50 Lionfish on a liveaboard trip in Belize last month. It was most effective when they were approached slowly and targeted within 6 inches from directly above the head.

Perfect Size

By Mark

Perfect size for Lionfish hidden in tight spots.

Perfect lion fish spear

By divingnancy

Great for lionfish removal, witha drybag to store them in underwater is the best.

good product, very sharp out of box

By Papa

Have owned a few of these spears, but this was the first one with a 6 pointed trident (others only had 3 points). very accurate and makes it easier to kill smaller lionfish, but be careful with it new because it is VERY sharp. also, the first time my boyfriend used it he got stung trying to get the fish off the spear because it really holds them on. will probably file off the barbs on the tips so it is easier to get fish off, but with 6 points there is no worry of them getting off themselves.

Lionfish Killer

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
David R  Going to give it a try.
RAZ B  compact and inexpensive.
ART R  Lion fish hunting - save he environment.
DON D  A very good price on a well made and simple to use spear.
LAUREL M  Our close friends were coming with us to St Thomas for their first dive trip. He celebrated his birthday while there and being a he-man outdoorsman and hunter, he wanted to hunt lionfish. I bought the spear gun as a gift. He didn't find any lionfish but he has the speargun for the next trip.
Shopper  SPEC ? How about over all lenght.
CEYLON L  I recomend a 6 point tip. Or the long3 prong with barbs. I hunt a lot. All over the caribean. These are my choises
Steve C  The one I have is - Length is about 2.5 ft. I think that some of them are longer - up to 36".
PETER C  It will fit in my suitcase, does that help?
BRAD B  It’s perfect for lion fish I have killed hundreds with it all sizes
BRANDON E  Pretty short. Was hard to hit anything
BEN B  I just received this product. The plastic/rubber (?) tip on the end near the tubing comes off when I release the shaft. Is this a defect?
DAN B  I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's just a bumper. You could sand the tip round or just leave it squared off it does not affect the functionality of the product
DEE B  Yes, they definitely need to have a better protector!
MARCELO L  Sorry, I have not used it yet. I never heard of anything like what you described. So, I assume this must be a defective item. When one releases the spear it should never come off from the rubber. Good luck.
HAL S  Sounds like it. Does the tubing separate from the spear? That's a problem. Exchange it
FRANK W  i wouldn't consider it a defect. I would either put a drop of glue on it or throw it away,
GERMAN M  I have been using this spear for several months and I do not have that problem, I think is a defect in your tip or spear.
EUGENE W  I would say that this is a defect. I have that spear and tip doesn't come off.
DAVID L  I would not say it was a defect but yes it will come off in the water. I just used some waterproof glue to secure it.
Michael N  No. That's just decoration.
BRAD B  Ben what are you using it for and where? Bo
BEN B  I intend to use it for killing lion fish
Jeremy L  Do you mean the yellow cap thing on the back end? Nothing falls off mine when I use it
BEN B  yes, the yellow cap
DON W  It's just a piece of plastic so no big deal. An octopus stole mine as I tried to coax him out of a hole.
TIMOTHY G  Sounds like it. I haven't had that problem with my spear.
BOB C  Yes. I've bought 4 of these spears over the past 2 years to use and leave with my dive buddies in Jamaica. The spears I've left there are still in use by those guys. They are excellent spears for killing Lion fish. If your's is coming apart, I'm confident they will be replaced by whomever sold them to you. They are perfect for killing Lion fish. Get a new one and rid the Seas of these devastating critters.
Steve C  No - it comes off on all of them - it is there to act as a bumper and protect the end of the rod from being damaged. If yours came off - it may just be loose - mine comes off as well but u have to twist it off. U could use it without the cap - the rod is some kind of fiber glass and could fragment if u were to hit the end on some hard object (boat, coral etc) though.
BRAD B  Just simply glue it in with super glue so you don't have to ship it back I bought 2 and haven't had any trouble. Bo
