These are great booties. The fit well and are super warm, and the sole isn't so thick that I struggle to get them into my fins.

Akona's Standard 3mm Nylon 2NeopreneBoots utilizes glued and blind stitched seams for a superior water seal. New design provides a contoured and snug fit, creating a more comfortable and warmer boot.The sole provides exceptional no-slip grip texture. This new spike-like rubber sole features a deep cut pointed texture that drastically reduces hydroplaning across a boat deck, dock, sidewalk or floor. 30% thicker than the average vulcanized rubber sole, Akona's new sole design provides comfort, stability and confidence while being worn before, during and after the dive.

The slip-resistant sole, wraps around the bottom of the boot for additional support and grip, no matter how rugged the surface. The boots come with an YKK #5 self-locking and corrosion resistant zippers. Full-length zipper pocket minimizes water entry. A longer pull-tab on the heel allows you to don the boot with greater ease. Boot is available in multiple sizes and is black in color.

Wanda H  Looking for boots to wear at the beach. Must keep small shells out of the boot. Must be able to walk on the beach. Must have zipper. I would need to accommodate my orthotics. I wear womens size 8 tennis shoe?
ALEXANDRA B  I really like these boots. I keep them on during my surface interval for getting off the boat and walking on the stony part of the beach to the sandy area and to the restaurant. It has a zipper and it should be able to accommodate your orthotics. I think it will suit your needs.
DEBORAH N  If you enter the water, sand and shells will enter through the top of the boot when wading in the shallows - my booties were full of pebbles and sand when we took out our dock last month. The booty is not waterproof, so hopefully the orthotics would not be ruined inside them. Scuba booties fit snuggly and protect the bottom of the feet, but do not provide the walking support a sneaker would.
Mario C  Thank you for your question and answers. This boot should work fine and size 6 would correspond to womens US size 8 and would be the best bet of keeping the orthopedics insole in place. Have a great weekend.
DEREK M  These are insulated boots for diving. They would certainly keep wheels out. Your feet might get warm and sweaty if you are walking on a warm day. Don't know about compatibility with orthotics; the material has some stretch to it so there might be enough room.
Robert N  These boots are awesome and will serve you well. Thick, durable sole that will have you scrambling across shells and sharp rock climbing with ease.
SARA S  These would work for you, the only way for sand or shells to get in would be over the top edge. The only thing I'm unsure of is the orthotics, the bottom is flexible. You can also get these type boots but with a harder sole that may keep the orthotics in place better.
Shopper  My shoe size is womans 6 would the 5 be to big? Noticed this boot doesn't come in size 4 as suggested by size chart.
DAVID K  My shoe size is men's 9-9.5 and I selected the Akona Men's size 10 and they are perfect. They should be a little large as you don't want them constricting. They also shrink over time with repeated drying in the sun on dive trips. So I think the "5" would be perfect.

ROGER M  I am interested in the Akona 3 mm boots. I wear women's size 7.5 not sure if the Akonas are listed mens or womens. What size do you recommend? And are they sold mens or womens?
B C  It is men's sizing . They have to be worn snugly so I would recommend a size 5.

MELINDA N  Order a 12. They don't make half sizes, or I would say order half a size smaller. Your foot and ankle are going to be bent when you are swimming with your fins on and you end up with extra room at the top of the boot when that happens. I wear a half size smaller for this reason and bought my boyfriend the same boot ordering it a half size smaller than his real shoe size. They fit perfectly when you're swimming with fins.
SARA P  Sizes are pretty true, but as I remember they are unisex or male. I wear a 7-1/2 to 8 in womens medium width and I bought a 7 which fit well with some toe wiggle room. Not too big and not too tight!

TY T  Unless you have wide feet, I would go with the 9 (or womens equivalent), as they don't have half sizes. I wear a 10.5 normally, but bought the 11, as I do have wide feet.
JEFFREY R  I looked up a conversion chart and it says 9.5 women's is a size 8 in men's. hope that helps.
