About Zeagle Zena Women's BC

Zeagle Zena Women's BC:
The greatest difficulty in properly sizing a woman's Buoyancy System is not finding a smaller size, or allowing for the bust, but lies in the fact that women's bodies have a defined waist where a waistband must fasten in order to secure the BC. At the same time, women tend to have both a shorter torso length and a lower center of buoyancy compared to men. Conventional buoyancy systems, which would ideally be worn lower for best balance and comfort, must be worn higher, around the narrowest part of the waist, in order to be secure. The Zena's twin waist and hip band system provides a way for women to securely position the weights and buoyancy below waist level, around the body's center of buoyancy. All of Zeagle's buoyancy systems are available with women's sizing options and can be adjusted to provide excellent fit and functionality for women divers.

The Zena BC has been designed by women as a buoyancy system specifically for women. The twin straps adjust to fit waist and hips independently, while the elastic front zippered panels provide outstanding fit and comfort. Zeagle's patented PFS sizing system allows for the waist size, chest size, and torso length to be independently fitted, positioning the weights low, around the body's center of buoyancy. The torso adjustable shoulder straps and side straps come equipped with squeeze-style" side-release buckles for easy donning/doffing. The Zena BCD has a 31 lbs. (13.6 kg) lift capacity bladder, and a 24 lbs. (10.9 kg) capacity Ripcord Weight System with a 16 lbs. (7.26 kg) rear trim pocket non-releasable capacity. Attachment of accessories is made easy with the four stainless steel D-rings on the vest and storage of gloves, small light or other accessories can be accomplished with the expandable mesh quick-pocket" at waist. Built to last from the Zena will give years of reliable service. To provide easy trimming of buoyancy the Zena has a lower left and right rear overpressure relief/pull dump valves.

With this durable design you also get Zeagle's time proven, rugged Bx Power Inflator System. No more struggling trying to get fresh water in through the inflator mouth piece! The Bx Power Inflator comes standard on all Zeagle BC's. Now you can really rinse out the bladder of your BC. Simply unscrew the Bx Coupler, screw on a standard garden hose, turn the water on and super rinse and clean the inner bladder. Inflator includes a 3/8" threaded low pressure quick disconnect hose for attachment to the first stage regulator. To provide easy trimming of buoyancy the Zena has a lower left and right rear overpressure relief/pull dump valves. BCD weighs 6.2 lbs. (2.8 kg), and is made in the USA.

Great BCD.....happy with purchase

This is the first BCD I have ever owned despite having over 220+ dives. I had never wanted to deal with the bulk, weight and luggage issues. I had done extensive research including the newer wing plate BCD but felt this fit my needs the best. This BCD is not only light, but very comfortable to wear. I really like the zip jacket feature as it makes getting in/out a BCD really easy and quick. Some people mentioned the back-inflate makes you lean forward on the water surface but I didn't think i...

Im a beginner diver and this vest was recommended from the dive shop. It is hard to reach the valve releases on the back and it only has the hose in the front for release. The bladder is only in the back and it traps air. You must roll face down and pull opposite side of valve which is difficult to grab at that angle. When in current its extremely hard to empty and you shoot to the top if you can't get it out properly. Even after 16 dives and knowing what you had to do it was just frustr...

Probably not for a new diver, especially in currents

By

from Madison, WI, US

I LOVE the fit of this BC, but found the following problems on a dive trip to the Philippines: I had trouble getting air out of the bladders and kept going to the top; I thought the zip front would be good, but we had to take off the BCs in the water and the zip was not as easy to use as the traditional quick-release buckles; also no strap across the sternum. I ended up having to borrow a different BC from the dive shop. I'm going to try to learn how to use this one, but I caution anyone not to buy it before a big dive trip, unless you have LOTS of time to practice using it.

Game Changer!

By

from Dallas, TX, US

I love the customizable fit, color choices, light weight, simplicity, streamlined design, double tank straps. I bought the Zeagle accessory sport pocket and I'm glad I did. Streamlined and great pocket to stow safety sausage, whistle, small flashlight, noisemaker. Easy to access. I found the small expandable mesh pocket that came with it utterly useless unless expanded -- thus dangling and spoiling my streamlining. I removed it entirely. Overall, this is an amazing BCD and I am in love with it.

I loved the fit but will have to think about selling it unfortunately.

Great fit 2nd time around

By

When first purchased I bought a large. It was a great fit although once tightened the loose ends were quite long and I found that when I tightened the shoulder straps as far as they could go there was no way to help the hang of my tank, which was a bit too low. I ended up exchanging the large for a medium and it made all the difference!! This BCD fits famously!! I am fairly large busted and when wearing a basic BCD the vests moved around quite a bit because the difference in fit from my bust to waist. With this BCD you can tighten/adjust to fit every curve of your torso. Plus it looks kinda sexy for a BCD. Be sure to buy the weight pouches!! They do not come with the BCD and you will need them. I purchased the back pad as well but not sure i would need it.

I'd buy it again, but sizing is WAY OFF from chart.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
JENNY H  I've now had this Zena for a couple of years now and I LOVE this back inflate, front zipper BC! GREAT quality, ingenious designs, simplicity... absolutely perfect for me...a 5'5", advanced woman diver. Was looking/tried on the women's Tusa, Scuba Pro, and Sherwood BC's...Talked with a pro diver in the Philippines(Leisure Pro expert) and she told me what great products Zeagles are...I couldn't agree more! You won't regret buying a Zeagle.
J W W  she wanted it
JAN B  I have a Zeagle and have been very pleased so for my daughter scuba buddy this I bought for her.
Shopper  Does this have integrated weight pockets or do you have to wear a weight belt?
KRISTEN H  I have a much older version of this BCD (purchased in 2013). In mine there are pockets in which one could put integrated weights but I usually wear a weight belt. The pockets are loose stitch sewn (so that they will rip if you pull the emergency ditch cord) so sometimes smaller weights can wiggle out.
MICHELLE E  Yes it has integrated weight pockets, with very nice heavy duty zippers. I love this BC, the fit is perfect for a female body frame.
Kathy C  It does have the pockets
SHERI K  It is weight integrated. It is a great system that all zeagles use. as well it has pouches for trim weight
STEVE F  yes side and back----my wife loves her vest but being a wing vest it takes a little to get use to. This would be her only choice of a vest. She is 67 just started diving 4 years ago and has 198 dives in the beautiful waters of Bonaire.
MARY J  Yes - zippered pockets on both sides.
CHRISOULLA R  It has integrated weight pockets. That was a major selling point for me when I bought this BC besides the great fit. They're over by the bladders in the back. Hope this helps!
TIM H  There are integrated weights, so you don't need a weight belt.
CHRISTINA R  There are weight pockets with plenty of space, so I do not wear a belt. When you pull the emergency cord the weights fall out the bottom, if you are upright. (Only pull the cord when you want to test it, as it takes some work to put it back together.) I really like how this BC fits!
Tracy F  Where is the serial number on my 2017 Zena BC located?
KEVIN F  The serial number is located on the bag it comes packaged with. It is on the side barcode tag. You will also find it on the BC itself. There is a small tag on the lower left side of the bladder as you're looking at the front of the BC.
