    Comments about Zeagle Covert BCD:

I used this BCD for 1 week diving in St. Vincent in June 2015 3 dives a day. Packs nice and flat and is very light, which is why I bought it. It is not very comfortable, has very small arm openings so it can be tough to wiggle your second arm through. You have to be creative hanging all of your accessories from the BCD as there are only two small D-Rings. My ScubaPro Lady Hawk never takes on a drop of water inside the bladder, but this one definitely does. Overall, it works, it packs flat and I will figure out how to hang my accessories because the weight difference in my dive bag when travelling is important on small planes.

      Comments about Zeagle Covert BCD:

This is a very comfortable travel bc. It is easy to don and doff, and the quick disconnect shoulder straps are a big plus. I added a couple of Zeagle storage pockets to the belt, but needed to add Velcro to the strap and inside of the pocket belt loops to keep the pocket from sliding around too far to the front of the belt. The integrated weight pockets are easy to load and ditch, but you need to be careful to insure the Velcro is firmly attached after loading the pockets. I can see the possibility of a weight sliding to the top of the pocket if you go upside down vertically and do not have the Velcro firmly secured. I would have preferred a closure with a quick disconnect type fastener than the Velcro on top. I put trim weights on the top band, but the band is secured by Velcro, so the band tends to slide down the tank a bit. Although it added slightly more weight, I replaced the top band with a standard cam band to eliminate this problem. The best feature about this bc is the light weight for travel and lower cost for a weight integrated unit than the Zeagle Express Tech.

      Comments about Zeagle Covert BCD:

I was looking for a light weight, compact, travel BC for warm water diving. I bought the Zeagle Convert and the Cressi Air Travel BC. Tough decision - but I kept the Zeagle because it was more streamlined and has less parts to get lost. (The Cressi has removable weight pockets and some dumb little belt to tie the BC together when you pack it). No big deal – but less removable parts means less to lose. Both are very light weight. The Zeagle is definitely missing a few things that the Cressi has (extra "D" rings, a pocket). The Cressi is clearly a more substantial/more featured BC - but I went with the Zeagle anyway.

I bought the TUSA Duo Air source to go with the Zeagle to eliminate the need for an Octopus (there is not a similar option available for the Cressi). The TUSA is kind of clunky though. Not nearly as streamlined as the one I used with my old SeaQuest BC. I think the Zeagle inflator hose is a tad shorter than it should be. It hooks to the BC over the shoulder. Hopefully I'll never have to use it as an octopus - I think it would be uncomfortable - but then again, it I ever need to use it as an octopus I will have other issues to deal with. I plan to buy a 22" flexi hose to replace the rubber one that comes with the BC. Right now that black rubber hose is probably 28" (+/-)and should be 22". Doable - just not very streamlined to have this big hose loop. Not sure if the extra hose length is due to the TUSA Duo-air inflator or because the inflator on the Zeagle is sort of short.

I added a few things to customize the BC. I added 2 trim pockets (which I may or may not use) to allow more balanced weighting for photography. I'm not thrilled with the XS-Scuba trim pockets - too stiff. I took the Zeagle BC to my local shoe repair shop and had them add a "D" ring on the strap – very easy. I also had the Zeagle spare pocket laying around which fits perfectly. I'm quite happy about that. It attaches where you might put a knife.

With regard to fit – I don't wear a small anything (I'm a size 12 woman's, 5'9" tall, 165 lbs). I bought a size small in both the Zeagle and the Cressi. Both fit fine. Message is – they run large.

      Comments about Zeagle Covert BCD:

The BCD performed admirably on a recent dive trip to the Hawaiian islands. Worked great on shore dives down to 49' and deeper boat dives down to 120'. Comfortable throughout the dives and dumping air upside down or right side up was easily done via the dump valves on the inflator hose and/or valve at bottom of the BCD. I attached a Mares Air Control Octo/BCD inflator to consolidate my dive gear even more. The double tank bands defused my initial concerns of how well this unframed(no back plate) BCD would fit and support the dive tank and all my accessories. In fact, it cleverly leverages the dive tank as a solid support/attachment point for the BCD. The BCD is super light weight at 3.9 lbs and collapses small enough to fit into a backpack. Weighed in at the airport with all my dive gear at ~30 lbs: including a light weight regulator (MR52 Instinct), LavaCore hooded half suit and Henderson 5mm half suit, all the associated dive gear including mask, fins, booties, gloves, dive computer, spare air, GoPro3, Hawaiian sling, dive bag, etc. Throw it all into a durable wheeled Travel Pro bag and I'm traveling the world ready to dive with less then 40 lbs in tow... easily meets the <50 lbs checked in bag requirement for most airlines. I would have given this BCD 5 stars if it only had trim weight pockets as well. I don't like dumping all my weights in an emergency situation for obvious reason. Easily remedied... I just added two trim weight pockets to the tank band. It doesn't have any gear pockets so very slim lined. Just hang your accessories(dive lights, surface signals, etc) to the d-rings. This is an ideal BCD for warm water dives as I could fit upwards of 14 lbs(7 lbs/side) in soft weights in the dump pockets... I believe the BCD would work well for cold water diving provided I bring my Hollis Weight Belt for the added weight required with an 8mm dive suit or just fit another 6-8 lbs of weights into my tank band trim weight pockets. Enjoy and safe diving.

Shopper  Male, Waist: 35, Shoulder to Waist: 18. it seems that I fit both size from size chart. which size should I pick? small or medium?
Ben T  Medium would be my choice.
Phoenix Y  What's the difference between Covert and Wicked Lite Ranger? They looks similar.
Gene F  I purchased and have used a Wicked Lite BC; I've never seen a Covert in person. The Wicked Lite is very light, great for travel, very comfortable (when you adjust it correctly, watch out the the regulator hitting the back of your head, the tank rides lower in the BC than you might expect). Note that there is no cumberbund. But the BC is very light and packs well.
