XS Scuba SMB

Well constructed and easy to use. Taller than most SMBs so when it is rolled up it is about twice the size of others. I like the overpressure relief valve and the anti-spill bottom with baffle. It doesn't have an oral inflate. If you are looking for an SMB that will stand out, this is the one.

Most Liked Negative Review

bulky and large

A rather large and bulky item. The straps do not secure well and tend to drift if not properly stowed. Not a great feature if you want to deploy one handed or while otherwise encumbered.

from LA, CA, US

Looked well constructed, but was too big to fit in my BC pocket.

Good SMB

I bought this for my upcoming technical diving course. Needed to get rid of the dinky recreational version and get one meant to be used. It is much larger than the small ones you buy to stick in a pocket and forget about. This is meant to do a job. So, be sure you know the dimensions and have a need/want for something this large. That said, it has a nice Velcro wrap tab and all the other features needed for tec diving. Seems very well built. Time will tell on that. No large manufacturer logo taking up space on the SMB, so plenty of space to stencil your name. The oral inflation valve is not in the picture, but it came with one. This thing is large, so I will be using the baffled bottom to inflate. This seems like a great product and compares with the ones I looked at in the over $90 price range.

Very visible SMB

I got a yellow SMB and for mine the vent plug is much higher then what is shown in the photo. To effectivly use this as a lift bag requires very long arms or the help of a dive buddy. But on the whole very satisfied with the purchase, it is very visible and that is the primary reason I got this product.

Great SMB

This thing is huge. Even rolled up it's big and bulky. Must have for any rescue situation. Very well built. Worth the money. Don't waste your money on anything smaller or bigger. Perfect size. Only wish they gave a pouch for it. The boat will see it, miles away. Has a strap for a torch or strobe.

XS Scube SMB

Very well constructed but did not realize it would be so large when rolled up.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Gregg B  While at Socorro and Nuku Hiva we had big seas and my previous marker buoy (SMB) was grossly inadequate to be seen in the water. I purchased this 7' sausage with through-the-leg strap and now safely clip it to my BC with the stainless bolt snap. High visibility and security!
MATT S  Its huge, and very visible
DAVID C  Neah Bay Washington can get foggy and choppy and I want the boat to find me. 50 lbs of lift for getting things to the surface also.
Adam L  Does this bag have welded seams at the bottom to prevent air from escaping once it hits the surface? (Once you put the air in, the only way it can get out is through the dump valve?)
EARL M  Yes, that is correct.
CHRISTOPHER D  It will hold air. I have fully inflated the SMB and it has held air for over an hour regardless of it position.
STEPHEN M  Not sure about the welded seams or not but I have had the air stay in mine for over an hour until I released it. 30 minutes in the water and 30 minutes or so sitting on the boat. I'm not sure how long you are wanting it to stay inflated but this is a nice marker with good visibility. It is a larger buoy so you will want to inflate it with your tank not by mouth like some of the smaller marker buoys.
Dan J  Will the QD work with Air2?
Frank L  No, it will not. Only standard BC QD.
