XS Scuba Stainless Steel Finger Spool 100'

In the early days of cave diving, reels were not available to buy off the shelf. Divers used anything they could, including empty electrical wire spools. When exploring, divers would pay out the line and if they didn't empty the spool it would be left in the cave for the next dive. The finger spool is most often used as a gap reel or for short distance exploration. Small and low-profile, a spool fits nicely out of the way in a pocket or clipped off to a D-ring. The holes in the side allow for clipping in a double ended snap anywhere along the perimeter of the spool to keep the line tight when not in use.

XS Scuba's Finger Spools come equipped with a durable corrosion resistant 4" (10.2 cm) stainless-steel double ender bolt snap with 18-8 stainless-steel internal springs. The spool is 316-grade stainless-steel for strength, corrosion resistance and long life. The line is .073" (1.86 mm) #24 international orange nylon 16-strand braided line with a breaking strength of 123.5 to 130 lbs. (56 to 59 kg). The XS Scuba Finger Spool is available in 3-sizes that have 3" (7.6 cm) diameters and line length of 60' (18.3 meters), width of 1.2" (3 cm) and line length of 100' (30.5 meters, width of 1.7" (4.3 cm) and line length of 160' (49 meters), width 2.2" (5.6 cm).
