I have heard all the pros and cons of Miflex hoses, and in the end felt it was, as one person described it, a solution looking for a problem. Existing rubber hoses are more than sufficiently good enough. Why change from something that works to something else that also works.

However, I needed a new hose to use on my pony bottle. Miflex hoses are so flexible, they can easily survive the longterm storage folded up along side the tank without sticking 6-8 inches out from the first stage. This, alone, made the hose the perfect choice. I then looked at the way I transport my regulators and decided these hoses are not looking for a problem to solve.

Aside from being extremely easy to see amongst the black rubber hoses on a dive boat, they bend and curve easily around things without needing a hose sleeve. No more tugging at the mouthpiece. They are comfortable to use.

They are sufficiently light enough that they are slightly positive.

This hose is very light and flexible as advertised. It also comes in a spiffy dry bag that can be used as a document keeper or maybe to put a couple of small tools in. I just wish they would have put as much effort into the crimped fittings. The fittings are chrome or were. After the crimping process, the chrome is now cracked and flaking.[...] I expected more. A little more attention to detail could have prevented this aesthetic issue. I purchased one to test it out for my primary regulator and I will not be purchasing and more.

Comments about Milflex Miflex Low Pressure Hoses:

I love the concept but the performance is mixed. Specifically - I own an HP hose that blew out near the first stage (same thing happened to two scuba instructor friends.) This was before the HP modification piece (rubber hose protector.)Had another HP hose leak adjacent to the hose protector (!). Had a LP reg hose leak near the reg. All hoses were less than 1 year old. BTW, I am a Dive Master and take good care of my equipment. Unless the performance improves, this will be my LAST Miflex hose - they are just too expensive for the longevity of the product.

Comments about Milflex Miflex Low Pressure Hoses:

Switched to Miflex on my power inflator hose and backup reg hose and so far I'm very pleased. Miflex is definitely more flexible than a standard rubber hose and is perfect for tighter hose routing. The hoses tend to want to retain their natural "coil" so this may make them less idea for longer hoses (I still use a standard hose on my 5' primary regulator. I also use standard HP hoses since the Miflex MP have had problems in the past. I think Miflex is great for shorter LP hoses like backup reg, primary non-long hose reg, inflator, or for stage bottle regs.
