About XS Scuba Finger Spool

In the early days of cave diving, reels were not available to buy off the shelf. Divers used anything they could, including empty electrical wire spools. When exploring, divers would pay out the line and if they didn't empty the spool it would be left in the cave for the next dive. The Finger Spool is most often used as a Gap Reel or for Short Distance Exploration. Small and Low-Profile, a Spool fits nicely out of the way in a Pocket or Clipped-Off to a D-Ring. The Holes in the Side allow for Clipping in a Double-Ended Snap anywhere along the Perimeter of the Spool to keep the Line-Tight when not in use.

XS Scuba's Finger Spools come equipped with a Durable Corrosion Resistant 4" (10.2 cm) Stainless Steel Double-Ender Bolt Snap with 18-8 Stainless Steel Internal Springs. The Spool is Injection-Molded with Glass-Filled Nylon for Strength and Long Life. The Line is 073" (1.86 mm) #24 Hi-Viz Yellow Nylon 16-Strand Braided Line with a Breaking Strength of 123.5 to 130 lbs (56 to 59 kg).

The XS Scuba Finger Reel is available in 3-Sizes and Line Lengths; 60' (18.3 meters) measures (Diameter x Width) 3" x 1" (7.6 x 2.5 cm) , 100' (30.5 meters) measures (Diameter x Width) 3" x 1 44" (7.6 x 3.7 cm) and 160' (49 meters) measuring 3.25" x 1.75" (8.3 x 4.4 cm) All the XS Scuba Reels are covered by a Limited Lifetime No Breakage Warranty.

        Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Antonio A  Small and compact, I guess 18 meters is more than enough for a surface marker buoy. And it is so cheap.
Shopper  I am concerned about this line clashing with my scuba outfit, is the color of the line really so green?
EVERITT G  The line is pretty bright on the surface, a dull greenish yellow in the water, you should definitely keep the spool in a BCD pocket when not in use so clashing should not be an issue most of the time. Dangling the spool from the double clip is a really bad practice and will lead to a lost spool or a big line tangle. It's really important that the line is visible when deployed to reduce entanglement hazards. Everitt
