Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
JOHN B  I needed an extra large hood. This one was still too tight.
Shopper  will this keep water our of your ear?
Joe D  A neoprene dry suit hood does NOT mean it will keep your head dry. It simply means the hood comes without a bib that would typically tuck into a wetsuit. I dive 200+ times annually in 55-60 degree water & most times have water in my ears after daily repetitive dives. Particularly after several profile changes within the 2nd & 3rd atmospheres. I use Doc's brand vented ear plugs & they have helped immensely. Not waterproof, but definitely reduce the chances of infection following water retention in the ear canal. I haven't used this hood yet but am purchasing now & look forward to my dry suit diving with it!
BETSY F  No, but it is not designed to do so.
PERSONAL S  This is a wet hood and so will allow water to enter past the seal and get under the hood and into the ear. A separate dry hood is usually difficult to find because such a hood will need an air source, such as from the body of a dry suit, to prevent suit squeeze. Typically dry hoods are attached to a dry suit and have a latex seal around the face. Hope this helps.
JOEL P  Hello, I don't believe any wet hood will prevent water from getting into your ears. Also, I returned this hood as I did not like the fit. I much prefer the Bare dry suit hood. Joel
DARRYL B  the water will still get in your ears . but you will stay warm . I hope this helps
JAMES M  Most likely yes if you have it rolled over your dry suit neck seal however it may let water in if you fidget with your mask seal or overlap. I atually returned this since my new drysuit came with a dry suit hood. With Leisure Pro's honorable return policy they will help you out however sizing is always a challenge. Keeping all water out of your ear's is not likely especially if you take it on and off between multiple dives. There are some ear plugs on the market that are supposed to be safe for diving but I wouldn't trust them or consider them. If you have an issue with water in your ears because of a condition or infection or other issues I would discuss it with the experts at Leisure Pro or your doctor or DAN.
Greg S  When I dive in Fiji, I don't use a hood and am constantly getting water in my ears after diving and have trouble clearing it out and it takes several hours until I can hear properly again. However, I have this hood and use it for diving in the Northeast USA and to depths of 40-50 feet using this hood, I have never had water in my ears.
DAVID H  Fit goog, kept me warm in cold water.
papaouiee p  No, it is not a dry suit, it is a wet suit which means it takes in water between you and it. I ordered the largest size they have and it did not fit; they come very small so I blessed a friend with it, so make sure you know it will fit you. They have it improperly listed as a dry suit hood.
WILLIAM L   No. It will keep most out, some will still leak in. It is very warm though. I use it in the Great Lakes.
