This is the best fitting Wetsuit I have ever bought, at the list price it is a great deal. The entire suit is designed to be the best fitting "Skin Tight" suit on the market. With the added latex seals around the wrists and ankles it practically could be called a "Semi-Dry Suit". Zippers at the ankles allow you to put the boots on overlapping the latex ankle seal, then the wetsuit over top of the outer boot. Same with the wrist seals, zippers on the wrists allow you to put the gloves on o...ver the latex seal then the wetsuit over top of the glove. The best part is the large pocket on the right leg. The pocket zips open for massive storage, just like the Dry Suit pockets. The pocket has a large screened in bottom to let the water exchange or drain as you get on the boat. The whole suit makes you feel like a Super Hero...hence my reference to Aquaman. Store your flashlight, great place for your Safety Sausage. Knee Pads, Elbow Pads are very hard plastic, but if I were an Instructor on my knees all the time I would wear a pair of regular knee pads to protect the suit! With all the individual panels stitched together it really fits tight. I also bought the Waterproof G1 5mm form fitting gloves, also very tight fitting with molded bent fingers for better fit. The 6.5mm Boots have a Titanium sole, so walking on the beach or pavement won't ruin the boot. Furthermore, I have the Waterproof 7mm hood from my D1 Dry-suit, that if I were to put on under the neck opening of the wetsuit there would be NO WATER EXCHANGE. I love this suit!
I used this wetsuit to dive in the Bahamas early March to do 90Ft and 45Ft dives. First off, let me say it looks great and as with most Waterproof products it is high quality. It is a little stiff, but that is because it is well-made 5mm wetsuit. The knee and elbow pads provided adequate protection against rocks and brushing off wrecks while taking pictures. After my dive even the dive master mentioned he was a little cold during the dive while I felt perfectly warm during the entire dive.... So simply put, this is a great wetsuit.
The W4 is the latest back-zipper wetsuit from Waterproof. After 28 years of experience of making wetsuits Waterproof (WP) has put all their knowledge into this hi-quality suit with an eye-catching silver retro/futuristic look. The 3D anatomical design, with pre-bent arms and legs with wave stretch panels and gender specific construction ensures a comfortable fit and a relaxing body position in the water. 3D molded rubber kneepads are perfect for the diving instructor who spends a lot of time on his knees in the water while teaching.
Double smooth-skin seals at arms and legs, adjustable neck and a 10mm spine pad with an extra seal at the back zipper keeps the cold water out. Seals are designed to fit WP boots and gloves. All zippers (including arms and legs) in top class VISLON #10 from YKK, the back-zipper bronze slider ensures trouble-free function for many years. The 7mm suit has Tough-Tex Panels at elbows and knees, bonded hi-quality nylon thread glued and blind stitched seams and 100% microcell CR neoprene in all panels. Quality is in the details. The W4 also features double computer strap anchors with anti-slip, comfort front neck zipper, inner plush lining, seat and shoulder anti-slip reinforcement.
The WPAD, or the Waterproof Personal Accessory Dock, is a soft artfully constructed docking station located on the right thigh for Waterproofs Expandable Pocket (see SKU: WPGW30TAP). The optional pocket (not included) is big enough to keep an extra mask, slate, decompression table, GoPro camera etc. Use the pocket when needed, if you want to streamline your set up, dive without it. The Waterproof W4 Men's Wetsuit is available in multiple sizes and is black in color.
This product can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.

The suit does not come with the pocket - it’s a separate purchase. It does have the mounting for it and it’s quite easy to mount the pocket. I have one pocket that is shared between my 3, 5 and 7mm suits.
The 8/7 semi dry does have the pocket permanently attached. While convenient, I prefer the replaceable pocket (held on by Velcro).

Can the ankle and wrist seals be trimmed if too long? Or folded under?
James O
The wrist and ankle seals are supposed to be inverted at least two inches for a proper seal. Don't trim them. Just invert them 2-3 inches to create a skin-in seal. Please read the information included with the suit before you start trimming and ruin the suit. When you get out of the water reverse the leg seal to drain the suit. Mine drains maybe 4 ounces on an aggressive lobster dive. Many comments have been posted by people who have not read the instructions for this suit. Dive SAFE!

The inner seal can be trimmed, but the outer section of the ankle and wrist has a zipper, that can not be trimmed.
Joshua M
I have folded them under. This also cut down on the water exchange, so much so what when you get out of the water, all the water that got into the suit settles in the legs and does not drain out.
Alfredo S
Yes they can be trimmed or folded. Dont know if you would loose the seal. Dont think so, they are very long and they make an excellent seal.
