Very comfortable

Kept nice and warm and toasty in Hawaii. Comfortable fit and fairly easy to put on and take off. Great wet suit.

Struggle to put on!

I ordered this from the size chart on waterproof's website because Leisure Pro did not have the size chart available. I received it the day before my Mexico trip so I didn't have time to try it on. When I tried to put in on before my dive on vacation, after strugling and wearing myself out, I discovered it was way too small and had to rent one.

Waterproof 3.5mm Wetsuit

By

from Annapolis, MD, US

Wanted to wear/use the suit for a few seasons in various conditions before writing this review. This is a high quality product that is quite comfortable both in and out of the water, flexible in the right places, warm, and rugged. Very flexible system when coupled with lavacore vest and shorts underneath to extend comfort into colder waters. Like most things in life, it's a little more pricy at the front end, but delivers and looks like it will wear well for years to come. Would definitely buy again.

Little pricey but worth every penny

I bought this as a replacement for my SeaQuest 3mm that I have been using since 1995. This suit is a true to size. I got it in medium. I'm 5ft 5in 160lbs and it fits fine. Not to tiight and the zippers make it easy getting it on and off in a hurry. I originally tried the subgear 3mm definition in grey. It was a fight getting it on and off. It was like trying to put on Plastic Man or that guy from the Fantastic 4. No zippers in the wrist and ankles. I sent it back and the W3 was recommended to me and the rest is history. This is a great suit for those deep summer dives in the Gulf at the Flower Banks. The W3 and all my gear I use 12 pound for neutral buoyancy in salt water and 8lbs in fresh water. The zipper cuffs in the wrist and ankles make it easy for getting it on and off. They allow the suit to fit easy over gloves and boots. This suit is well constructed and I am buying another one just in case they quit making them. I will probable replace all my wetsuits with this series. I think Waterproof is my new brand.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  I'm 5' 11", 48" chest 46" hips, 44 waist...the closest fit in the sizing chart is an XXL without getting too long of a suit. How well does the suit stretch...will I be too constricted in the chest?
Alan L  I have found that the suit stretches very little. I should be an "ML Short" according to the size chart, I am wearing a medium and it fits perfectly. The suit does give a little, but it should be skin tight without constriction. Once I got wet, the suit eased up. I hope this helps, I couldn't be happier with this suit.
Angelo F  Waterproof has continually improve the sizing.. The W 3 material does has some stretch by not Like the hyerstretch material from other manufactures.. The w 3 is one of the best 3.5 suits on the market.... Thank you for your questio
HAROLD B  I am 5'9" chest 44, hips 39", and waist 36 and 189 lbs. I have a XXL and it fits me great.
RAPHAEL B  don't know, I bought a M size soory
MICHAEL M  Bottomline: yes, it will be too constricted in the chest. The suit does stretch some, but not enough to make up a two inch difference. One thing I've learned with Waterproof over the years...if you don't fit neatly within their recommended chart sizes, DO NOT purchase the suit. While they make extremely comfortable and durable suits (I have several which I've taken all over the world with me), it's not worth ruining a dive trip/experience because your suit doesn't fit right. Trust me on this one, I made the same mistake with my first W3.5mm. Best, Mike
CHESTER P  Same chest. Fits nice
DAVID B  The suit runs very small an they do not stretch as much as some of the others on the market.
PATRICK A  The suit stretched a bit but I found the sizing chart to be spot on.
BONY C  I think to buy this wetsuit but I need to know which deals adjusts to my measures in centimeters ? height: 173 cm., neck: 39 cm., chest: 101 cm., waist 96 cm., hips: 100 cm., torso 50 cm., arm 55 cm., Leg lenght: 89 cm., neck to wrist: 68 cm., neck to crotch 72 cm., crotch to ankle 72 cm. I have a neosport 3/2 mm in size L, fits perfect, thank you for your prompt response and analysis to make the right purchase
Angelo F  OUr size chart is in imperial could you translate your measurements for me
Steve S  I would recommend a size Medium. If you do not like the fit, please give us a call to exchange for a different size using our Pressure Free Fit Guarantee.
BONY C  Hello using the measurement chart height is measured from the neck or from the head to the floor or to the ankle?
MARK M  I measured my total height and weight (top of head to floor). These wetsuits are the best quality, style and functionality for the price of any wetsuit I have ever purchased in my 1800+ dive career.
BRIAN L  These wetsuits run extremely small according to measurement chart. Be sure and order at least one size larger than you would normally take.
JIMMY S  If you look on waterproof's website there is a size chart along with a diagram showing where to measure for each measurement. I found their suits run a little short, normally an XL but had to return it and get an XL tall.
JIMMY S  If you look on waterproof's website they have size chart along with diagram showing wherehad heard Waterproof suits ran a little short and it was true. I usually wear an XL but had to return it and get an XL tall.
CHARLES H  Height is your height "floor to top of head" Their size chart runs pretty close. Have no issues. If you are heavier than the weight in your height by much, going to next height will work better. I absolutely love the suit!!! also have it in 5mm but even in new England, I use the 3.5 almost all year long. June to September. Chuck
MATTHEW R  Hi, I'm not sure, but I'm about 5'10" and I use the medium sized suit. Although I've only put about 40 dives on this suit, I'd recommend it. The zips make it pretty easy to don and doff and the seams and neoprene are both really solid. The M is a bit big around my waist so I get a small pool of water at the base of my spine, but it doesn't move around unless I push at it. Hope that helps!
Alan L  I wish I could help, but using the measurement chart, the men's version of this suit should not fit me, yet, I tried it on in a dive shop and it fit perfectly. The suit should be skin tight ( not restrictive) you should be able to breathe and move comfortably. Suit "gives" just a bit when wet, but doesn't really stretch much. I love my suit and kept very comfortable without over heating. Great on night dives when everyone else was freezing in their 2mm, 3/2 mm suits. Good luck.
AHMAD A  Hi, Height measurement is taken from the top of the head to the floor. I recommend using chart size from the manufacture web site and you can do a search on google for how to measure. Once you get the wet suit and try it on it will feel too small but once you dive with it you will be very pleased. It fits like a glove. The manufacture has a US web site and an EU web site using both Imperial and metric measurements. That will help you to confirm your size. By the way this product is the best wet suit out of four that I own. Hope this helps
RALPH C  I used the W3 chart from the Waterproof company website. My body measurements matched part of the large wetsuit measurements and part of the extra large measurements. I ended up ordering both and used my home as the try on room. Though the large fit good in some respects the x-large was the more comfortable fit for me. The chart on the manufacturers website is in metric or inches. The height refers to top of head to bottom of feet. XL indicates 6 feet but I am 5-10, but my other body sizes seemed to fit better with the extra large than the Large. When I was sure I returned the L with no problems. Full refund. Check the chart on manufacturers website, many body measurements to help you. My body 5-10, 39 waist, 30 inseam, 44 chest , 200 lbs , 16 neck. Good luck. 50 dives on suit so far still fits fine.
DONN E  I believe the head, but I couldn't wear either the L or the XL because the sleeves are cut tight, and the stitching prevents the arms from stretching/expanding. DE
Kasia W  Height is measured from top of your head to the floor.
