While the manuals (and all manuals from Uwatec, for that matter) could use a serious rewrite, the product performs flawlessly. One thing to note if you seem to have problems with the unit: if the red light on the IR head is "solid-on" and not blinking, the unit has frozen and needs to be unplugged and re-plugged. Other than that, it provides a seamless interface between the dive computer and your PC. Most of the functions of the Galileo are far more easily set on the PC, so you'll find thi...s handy. Additionally, you can load B&W bitmap pictures (maps, deco tables, etc.) on your Galileo via the PC using this interface.
Your "C-Card" proves you're a diver, but your log book proves your experience and frequency of diving. Be prepared to prove your experience when on vacation with your electronic log book. Don't have an infrared receiver on your laptop or PC, and you want to download your logged dives from your SMARTTRAK, or SMART Dive Computers? Yes it works with win 10 ( at least on my laptop). My desktop running win 10 also was giving me a device manager error code 39 but I have been having problems with that computer so am not sure what it will do on yours. I did not have to use the install disk that comes with the ir device it was just plug and play.

If you are referring to the Smartrak software, it appears to bee a Windows only application. The software for all the ScubaPro computers is available on their website.

Yes, as long as you have a virtual Windows machine installed in your Mac. You need a Mac with an Intel-based processor, install Parallels (a software that allows you to run virtual machines with other operating systems OS in your Mac) and of course, you need a Windows OS. The disk with the Infrared drivers in the picture is not a standard CD disk size, but much smaller. To get the drivers, you can: 1) get the small cd into a PC, copy drivers in a USB pen, then get drivers from USB pen into Mac. or 2) download drivers from ScubaPro web site.
Check also the scuba pro site for other tracking software such as LogTrack, which works on both Windows and Mac OS, but requires different dive computers. Personally, I have used UWATEC dive computers with SmartTrak and my Mac Book Pro for years, and they work great.
