Meridian's heart rate monitor, jointly developed with Polar (world leader in the field of heart rate monitors), not only measures and records the heartbeat during the dive but allows the dive computer to factor the intensity of the exercise into the decompression calculation, as it is reported by the diver's physiology. The HRM is also ideal for Apnea divers, measuring heart rate and sounding an alarm if the heart rate drops below the set level.

Does this Heart Rate monitor work with the Garmin Descent?
Mario C
Thank you for your question. The manufaturer states that this sensor is only for the Scubapro Meridian. The Garmin Descent does not need a chest strap for heart rate.
"... Displays depth, dive time, temperature, NDL/TTS, ascent/descent rates, gas mix, PO2, N2 loading, decompression stop information and more. Elevateˆ wrist heart rate technology gives heart rate monitoring without a chest strap (Note:heart rate information not stored or displayed during dive activity). ..."

Can the HRM be used for the Scubapro Mantis 1?
YAN G
You could use this, but it would not give skin temp, just heart rate. The other part number for the HRM also gives skin temperature.
YAN G
Mantis 1 does use a HRM, but it is a different part #, 05.060.002. This is currently not in stock. We could order it for you. Please contact us directly.
