Everything but the kitchen sink

By G M.

This computer has everything a diver needs, and the menu and navigation of the device are very intuitive. Once you know 2 simple button control features you can get through the basic navigation of this computer. I also like the upgrade feature to new software keeping me up to date on all the latest tech.

Great computer!!!

By Russell M.

Great dive computer. Very reliable. Easy to learn and easy to use. I would definitely recommend this computer to anyone looking for an upgrade.

Offering a choice of display screens, an intuitive menu system, optional upgrades and the bar-none best electronic compass around. The Galileo Luna has everything you need in a fully functional wrist-mount dive computer to maximize your underwater experience. This powerful dive computer handles nitrox mixes up to 100% O2, offers hose-less air-integration option (see SKU: UTCT Smart Tec/Z Transmitter), and provides an enormous logbook that stores tons of useful data from each dive. Hose-less gas integration provides tank pressure, true remaining bottom time (RBT), and allows air consumption to be factored into the decompression calculation. The ZHL8 ADT MB algorithm allows you to program a nitrox mix (21-100% O2) calculates true remaining bottom time and incorporates profile dependent intermediate stops (PDIS), both of which add additional layers of safety to your diving. PDIS calculates an intermediate stop based on N2 loading, current and previous dives and breathing mixes for safer diving. Microbubble levels let you adjust the level of conservatism in the algorithm to match your experience level, age and physical conditioning.

Although it's a fully loaded dive computer, the Galileo Luna is surprisingly easy to use. Offering a choice of three primary screen configurations to suit your individual tastes, you navigate through the system via three clearly marked control buttons. You can also rotate the screen 180° degrees, enabling the dive computer to be worn with control buttons on top or on bottom. The intuitive digital compass features an actual half-compass rose that can be used at a full 90° degree tilt, making it a true aid to underwater navigation.

The Galileo Luna comes with all the core Scubapro technology and features offered on the Galileo Sol except for the Predictive Multi-Gas (see SKU: UTCGLMGU) feature and the (HRM) Heart Rate Monitor (HRM see SKU: UTCGLHRMU). However, these two great upgrades are available as optional purchases at your authorized Scubapro Uwatec dealer. Predictive Multi-Gas upgrade: Purchasing the PMG feature allows the Galileo Luna to use up to three nitrox mixes (21-100% O2) during the dive, calculating the ascent schedule for all possible combinations of the programmed mixes. The outcome of the different decompression calculations can be shown on the screen in a dedicated deco summary screen. Heart Rate Monitor upgrade: Exclusive to Scubapro dive computers, the heart rate monitor, jointly developed with Polar (world leader in the field of heart rate monitors), measures your heartbeat and skin temperature during the dive that can then be factored into the decompression calculation along with your workload. This results in safer diving because each diver is unique, and each dive location and situation is different. The HRM is also ideal for free divers, measuring heart rate and sounding an alarm if the heart rate drops below the set level.

The more you know, the better off you are. This is true for just about any aspect of life, including scuba diving.
The Luna dive computer is the newest member of the Galileo family made by Uwatec. This state-of-the-art dive computer truly is a dive true bottom time calculator, a decompression dive planner, and a depth gauge, but it also offers features that simply make diving an even great sport to enjoy, such as a sleek design, a full-tilt compass with bearing memory, an extra-large display for easy reading underwater, hose less gas integration, and the option for you to input your personal information (name, diver certificate number, emergency contact information, and so forth). The Luna's alarms and signals will keep you safe at depth; the compass will keep you heading true, and the user interface will enable you to enjoy your dive without worrying about fighting with your computer while underwater.

The Galileo Luna Dive Computer is a wrist mount computer that is water activated so if you forget to turn it on manual it will still calculate all aspects of your dive profile once you hit the water. Computer is altitude adjustable to 13,300' (4,000 meters) with full decompression and without decompression (gauge mode) at any altitude. Computer is powered by a user replaceable CR12600SE (SKU: AQUBY126) lithium 3 volt battery. The Luna also gives you wait to fly information, has a stop watch function, depth alarm, battery alarm, and a maximum depth rating for decompression calculations of 394' (120 meters). In gauge mode the Luna's maximum depth readout is 1,082' (330 meters). Computer is equipped with back lighting for low light or night diving conditions.

Extra-large dot-matrix screen offers a choice of three display modes, allowing you to personalize the presentation of your data. Oil-filled technology allows for a slim display casing design that fits comfortably on the arm. Computer is also a timekeeper with a quartz clock that gives time, date, and dive time display up to 999 minutes. Other features include current depth, maximum depth, choice of imperial or metric units of measurements, fresh or salt water setting, and a 100 hour logbook memory. Computer has four modes of air, nitrox, gauge and free dive. With the optional (SKU: UTCSMID) SmartTRAK Infrared Devise you can download your logged dives and also download pictures with a 100 bitmap images as a wreck map the diver can use to orient themselves. The Uwatec Galileo Luna Computer comes with a comprehensive Owner's Manual.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: The customer will have to go to https://galileo.uwatec.com/ to do the update in order for the FREE HRM Belt to communicate with the Luna. They will need to purchase the IRDA (SKU# UTCSMID 05.050.001 - USB Smart IrDA Dongle) to do this.

This product can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Chris R  Can it switch gas mixes during the dive? I change from Nitrox to pure O2 during deco.
DAVID N  i dont think so
Shopper  I see two Uwatec Galileo Luna Hose-Less wrist dive computers; one has the Scubapro 2011 on the case and one has the Galileo on the face. What is the difference. Leisurepro shows both of these dive computers? Do I need to buy the transmitter or does it come with the dive computer? Bill
KEVIN F  One comes packaged with the transmitter, one is sold with just the wrist unit. SKU: UTCGL comes with the transmitter. SKU: UTCGLW is just the wrist unit.
DAVID N  is it true that you must not touch the buttons on the luna in the 3 min count down mode or it will start the count down again?
YAN G  Its not that simple, please read page 54 of the manual: http://www.scubapro.com/media/462264/galileo_luna_eng.pdf
Shopper  Should the USB INFRARED INTERFACE (IRDA) come standard with the whole package or do I have to buy one separately? Didn't find one inside the box. How exactly am I suppose to update the firmware of the dive computer?
YAN G  Sold separately.
DAVID N  no u have to buy the (IRDA) separately LP should have it i think there is a update on the Scubapro site
TERRANCE K  It has been so long, I don't remember if I paid extra for the USB download system or not. It is however a vary nice feature. My Luna has been working fine from the day I got it, including the downloading. Not a cheap unit, but one of the best I have had....you get what you pay for. I use the compass a lot !
ALVIN R  Can the wrist unit read 2 divers air is they have 2 transmitters? If so how?
DAVID N  no
