About Scubapro Chromis Wrist Computer

The Scubapro Chromis wrist computer is ready for your next adventure, in or out of the water. Reaching a new level of clarity, the large display and Katana-sharp characters are proven to be exceptionally readable underwater. You'll have a host of tools at your fingertips, including a full-featured dive computer, apnea gauge, timepiece, and patented lap counter. The Chromis Computer has a large, sharp display that features characters inspired by Samurai katanas that are proven to be remarkably clear underwater. Multiple mode capabilities Scuba, gauge, apnea, swim, and watch modes, in addition to a built-in altimeter for any adventure you may encounter.

The Chromis by Scubapro has a full dive planner based on a custom algorithm (ZHL8 ADT MB), with no stop and TAT indication and Interval/O2 input, making Chromis a suitable primary computer. Patented stroke counter: easily keep track of strokes from the wrist or fin kicks from the ankle while calculating distance. Four-button interface: includes menu state indicator for easy operation, even while wearing neoprene gloves. Zigzag arm strap design compensates for dive suit compression to maintain a comfortable, secure fit at depth.

The Chromos has easy to read larger digits, dual time function, stopwatch function in Scuba mode and a maximum operational depth of 393' (120 meters). The computer has an O-ring sealed battery compartment and is powered by a user replaceable large capacity CR2430 lithium battery. Scubapro's engraved SS316L stainless steel front ring and back provide durability. The Chromis has a PDIS (Profile Dependent Intermediate Stops), and Nitrox settings from 21% to 100% with adjustable pp02. The computer has a quartz clock with wake-up alarm and dual time functions.

The Chromis Computer has both a gauge and apnea (free-dive) modes, continuously updated average depth display in gauge mode which can be reset by the diver at any time, altimeter for altitude adjustability from sea level to approximately 13,300' (4,000 meters). The computers logbook can record dive hours for later retrieval and download to PC/MAC interface with optional USB interface and Cradle (sold separately, see SKU UTCCRC). Computer has an active back light for night and low light diving conditions. Computer comes with a strap extension. If you are keeping in shape for your next dive adventure the Chromis has you covered with its patented swimming stroke counter: counts strokes or kicks and calculates distance. The computer is available in multiple color choices and comes with an owner's manual.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

KRISTY D  Went on a dive today first one with a new chromis and screen went totally blank shortly after initial descent to about 15', zero functions. Received this as a Christmas gift and spent hours setting it up step by step using online manual. Completed dives with dive buddy. Has been out of the water for about 2 to 2.5 hours and now have a single display of E3 on left side under the time bar. Have been reading through the manual again trying to find information or an error code or how to reset. Only thing I can find is some mention in selecting dive mode apnea, scuba, and gauge, that computer will be nonfunctional for 4 hours and 20 minutes. The other is SOS which will shut down for 24 hours. At first I thought water had gotten into the seal, when I initially set it up a month and half ago battery indicated 5 dots, good to go? A little flustered is the E3 display an error code?
KEVIN F  Yes, the E3 is an error code unfortunately. The unit will have to be returned to Scubapro for service.
Shopper  can the display units be changed to metric system? Meters, celcius...
Yi-Hsin L  yes, I have mine set up in metric.
Janice C  Where can I buy a replacement wrist strip for my Black Chromis? I live in Singapore.
KEVIN F  The Scubapro website will allow you to search for local Scubapro service centers.
michael h  is the computer compatible with transmitters to track tank pressure? also, what is the algorithm that underpins the decompression calculations?
KEVIN F  No, this computer is not air-integrated. Runs on the ZHL8 ADT MB algorithm.
Shopper  how easy to change the battery and cost of that??
YAN G  From the Scubapro Chromis manual: "We recommend having the b Chromis battery replaced by an Authorized SCUBAPRO dealer. The change must be made with particular care in order to prevent water from seeping in. The warranty does not cover damages due to an improper placement of the battery"
