3 3/4" at it's widest point x 2 1/4" (widest point on the short side) ... it's heavy... I use it as my tank banger since tank bangers all seem to break on me!

I would like to semi-permanently attach this to my D-ring on the narrow end so can hang camera etc. on the large "carabiner" end.
Does the little bar on the small end "unlock" or swivel out to allow you to attach it to the D-ring (or is it just for threading webbing through it)?

I think this product is good to use. But it wsa bigger than I thought. There was no the size information on the features or specification. Of cource you expreses the size as #4 but the buyer dosen't the exact meaning of #4. Anyway the locking gate has good strength not to lose the attached things.

The narrow end does not unlock. It is fixed.

Hello fellow diver, the answer is no, I use it for DSAT Tec-Rec diving , " crotch strap " and " Trimix " tank latching. being that its a closed fixed end I use a SS D-ring that you can unscrew or secure to this type of Carabineeer. Furthermore its universal and can be used in recreational diving as well, just a example: buy a heavy duty SS key ring that you can connect to the fixed end than attach the key ring to your BC. Hope this helps. Maverick - Hawaii

Small end does not unlock, permanently closed

Thinking of using this as a hook up to anchor line for deco stops. Can anyone tell me if it works well?
Just thinking this may be a better solution than the jon line clips which sometimes come off the line during heavy seas.

I have used it in Palau for a reef hook in very strong current, I leave it on my BCD to hang my camera on or my Reef Rod. Never had any issues. Should work for your needs as well.
