Can't live without

When Q40 introduced I bought three of them. I loved the idea to have continuously a light wherever you look on. Then Underwater Kinetics introduced the eLed plus and I bought one of these Just to check it.There was no comparison between the two except the casing. As result I sold my Three previews Q40.

good primary, bright, saves battery

By

from Monterey Bay, CA, US

this light is small, but it's pretty bright. I use it as my primary and every time I go night fishing and need a reliable waterproof light, this is my go-to. It is not superbly bright, but you don't want it to be blinding, it is great how it is. The light diffuses, no sharp edges like other lights that form perfect circles. Twist on and off is very easy to use and reliable. Takes 4 AA batteries and burns for 5-6 hours. It's really reliable and goes through the batteries very slowly, very long-lasting. Definitely recommended. Great light! Get 4 rechargeable AA and you're set! I tried using the strap, and it doesn't work for me, so don't count on it. I just hook a camera strap to the back and it goes around my wrist.

Seems rugged and of good quality

By

from Monroe, GA, US

I haven't tested it in water, but, I especially like the strap that allows you to attach the light to one side of your mask strap. Hands free is a nice option and always best for night dives. It twists on and off and that should reduce the chances of a button malfunctioning.

Worked for 1 day...

By

from Hudson, MA, US

It worked great for 2 dives and then the 1st dive the next day it no longer worked. When I got home from the trip I went to replace the batteries and the inside was all corroded and damp.

Head light

By

from San Antonio, TX, US

With my new head light everyone knows that I'm coming. My dive partner took a picture of me in some murky water and could see me with no problem. I could not feel it on my OTS full face mask but could see the beam. It makes looking at my gauges a lot easier and hands free.

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
phillip f  my last Q40 lasted over 20 years of diving, bad battery leak finally did it in. Can't rate this product and leasure pro service high enough.

GREG B  Thought I could use it on my camera as a spotting light. Good idea but it didn't really work out how I had hoped.
ALLEN S  Strapping this light to one's mask gives immediate access to emergency lighting when one's primary conks out.
BRIAN C  works very well for free diving
TOM M  Really small and easy to fit in BC pocket for an emergency.
PHILIP P  I keep this in my BC pocket as an emergency light. It has a mask strap but it really isn't of any use as you can't wear it on your mask at night without blinding your buddy.
GEORGE M  bright compact handy light no hands needed makes it nice when you have to grab the lobster or pry that trophy abalone
FRANK J  Lost previous one. I ALWAYS keep a light with me. Never know when it might be needed.
COLETTE W  Wear it on my AGA mask, as a backup light.
DANNY C  A bright little tough flashlight, very easy to carry. I use rechargeable NiMh batteries, and it stays bright for at least 2-3 hours continous use.
Judy C  does this light turn on by a twist or push button?
PHILIP H  It turns on by fully twisting closed and opens by loosening. It requires many turns after shutting off to affect water ingress. Easy to do and no accidental turning on.
GARY R  You must twist the top for the light to be activated.
JEFFERY E  Twist. No focus just wide beam.
MIKE M  Twist, puts out good light for it's size. I have mine mounted to my speargun for hunting rock fish.
CORY K  Twisting the bulb holder.
ROBERT J  you have to twist it to turn it on. their is no buttons. it is very reliable though. I've had this flash light for over 6 years and it still works.
ROBERT M  Twist the head
STEVEN H  THis light turns on by twisting the bulb side cap and off by twisting it back. I have never had any problems with it. I do make sure to keep the o ring lubed.
Robert S  What is the battery layout for the MiniQ40 Eled?
Frank L  4 AA's, stacked in two rows.
