When Q40 introduced I bought three of them. I loved the idea to have continuously a light wherever you look on.
Then Underwater Kinetics introduced the eLed plus and I bought one of these Just to check it.There was no comparison between the two except the casing. As result I sold my Three previews Q40.

Great backup light. I wear mine on mask strap.
Lobster diving or photography can really get your hands full. How do I keep light on my subject or that five pound lobster with either my camera or game bag or hunting tools in hand? The high-intensity Mini Q40 eLED Plus is lightweight enough to attach to your mask strap for hands-free illumination of camera settings, hunting, gauges and close-up marine life. It outshines many lights three times its size. Light comes equipped with a mask strap attachment and 2 watt high brightness eLED lamp. Works well as a photographers spotting light. MiniQ40 Light fits Sea & Sea, Ultra-Light and other camera mounting adapters. All this versatility in a tough ABS polycarbonate body with rubber shock resistant bezel cover makes the Mini Q40 the light for you.
This unique light produces 77 lumens f brightness with the single eLED lamp with a beam distance of 328' (100 meters) on land. The light is powered by 4 AA alkaline batteries (included) with a burn time of 4 to 5 hours. With optional lithium batteries the light will get a burn time of 9 to 10 hours. The Mini Q40 Light measures 6.5" x 1.6" x 1.4" (16.51 x 4.06 x 3.56 cm) and weighs 6oz (170.1g). Light is depth rated to 500' (152.4 meters), is available in multiple colors, comes with an owner's manual, is proudly made in the USA and is covered by a limited lifetime warranty.

How are the batteries stacked inside the Mini Q40 light (2 POS up and two NEG up?)
BRADFORD C
Yes, two down in the side area, then two up under the lamp. Polarity matters in LEDs, typically the (+) terminals will fit inside the collar of the "bulb" while the (-) will not and so prevent reverse polarity failures

DOES IT COME WITH A STRAP?
JIM W
Yes you can see it in the picture
DAN L
Mine came as you see it in the photo.
RUDOLPH S
Yes
BRETT D
Yes
AARON F
Neither of mine did. But these little lights are great!
BILLY N
No lanyard, just the mask strap shown.
Judy C
does this light turn on by a twist or push button?
PHILIP H
It turns on by fully twisting closed and opens by loosening. It requires many turns after shutting off to affect water ingress. Easy to do and no accidental turning on.
GARY R
You must twist the top for the light to be activated.
JEFFERY E
Twist. No focus just wide beam.
MICHAEL M
Twist, puts out good light for it's size. I have mine mounted to my speargun for hunting rock fish.
CORY K
Twisting the bulb holder.
ROBERT J
you have to twist it to turn it on. their is no buttons. it is very reliable though. I've had this flash light for over 6 years and it still works.
ROBERT M
Twist the head
STEVEN H
THis light turns on by twisting the bulb side cap and off by twisting it back. I have never had any problems with it. I do make sure to keep the o ring lubed.

What is the battery layout for the MiniQ40 Eled?
YAN G
4 AA's, stacked in two rows.
RON W
Does the Q40 eLed plus have one oring to seal the light?
RICHARD B
at least one oring
JASON P
Yes, one O-ring.
MICHAEL N
Yes, just one, but the only time I've every had one leak at all was when a student took the end off underwater and that doesn't really count! I have 5 of these. The "plus" is a brighter light than the Q40 LED.
RUSSELL W
Yes it has one oring. I carry it on my BCD as a back up so it goes with me on every dive. With aprox 150 since purchase it hasn't flooded yet.
SANDRA C
Hi Ron W....It doesn't have an o-ring, but it does have two slits on the edge where you can attach an o-ring to it. You can see the area in the picture where the opaque rubber holders slide thru and snap on.
I use a retractable device that hooks into my bcd pocket and has an o-ring on the other end and just keep it in my bcd pocket when I'm not using it. Very slim, convenient and easy to use, even while wearing gloves.. It's nice and bright & focuses on small areas but it also lights up the area around it, but not as much.
Hope that helps!
