About Aqualung Zuma Travel BC

The Aqualung Zuma Travel BCD revolutionized the dive traveling industry. The minimalist design of the Zuma cut down travel weight of BCDs by nearly half and reduced the size drastically, without sacrificing function. On top of that the Zuma still offered incredible durability and support in a BCD that can hardly be noticed while wearing.

The Zuma features a few new innovative designs that aid not only in convenience but comfort as well. A new tank support system needed to be incorporated because the Zuma does not contain an internal frame. So Aqualung lowered the tank strap down to be integrated with the waistband. This places a majority of the weight from the tank at your waist and relieves your shoulders from bearing it. And to help contain the tank, the carrying handle doubles as a valve strap to keep the top of the tank close to your shoulders and attached to the BCD. Another new edition is Aqualungs patented SureLock II Mechanical Weight Release System. This system provides a simple and easy, single-pull release. Once the weights click into place the SureLock system ensures that they will not release until you manually pull the release handle. Additionally, a bladder retraction system better contains the bladder during inflation and flat air-relief valves all ensure better streamlining for improved buoyancy.

For added comfort, the Zuma incorporates padded shoulder straps and padded spine and lumbar support for incredible comfort. For further comfort, better streamlining and decreased material and weight, the Zuma has done away with standard BCD pockets. Instead, the BCD contains only one pocket on the right side of the unit. It folds down and expands two nearly double its size. This is really convenient if you need to use the pocket but even more convenient if you do not. Like many traditional BCDs the Zuma offers 4 D-rings for gear attachment and also knife attachment points in a convenient and easily accessible location. The Zuma can contain 20 lb/9 kg of weight plus an additional 10 lbs/4.5 kg with optional tank strap weight pockets.

If you re looking for a great BCD that is easy to travel with, look no further. The Zuma BCD will not only save precious pounds in your suitcase but space as well. The innovative design of the Zuma BCD allows you to roll it up like a sleeping bag, making an extremely compact and packable BCD. If you decide not to roll it, no worries, it will still lay about as flat as a light sweatshirt still allowing it to be conveniently tossed into your carry-on.

The Aqualung Zuma Travel BC is commonly used for Recreation, Warm Water and more. The Aqualung Zuma Travel BC is most used by customers who consider themselves to be a Advanced among others. The Aqualung Zuma Travel BC is popular because customers like the following qualities of the Aqualung Zuma Travel BC: Comfortable, Easily Adjustable.

Comments about Aqualung Zuma Travel BC:

For the size should measure your height first....if your size is overlapping between two sizes better take larger one. I bought xss/xs for my kid (160cm) and it is a bit too short...should have taken S size. Bought cressi travellight xs the same time and the features are better and size is good with a little difference in price. If only i could change the size with the local aqualung dist.

Comments about Aqualung Zuma Travel BC:

I am an instructor and I have used the Zuma BCD for the last two years on every warm water dive I have done. It is a back inflate, so it takes some getting used to when floating on the surface. It also does not have releasable shoulder straps or weight pouches on the back of the BCD. It is best for use in mellow recreational diving with little weight. In that circumstance I have found it an absolutely wonderful BCD. I have guided and taught in it, and I intend to continue using the Zuma for all my warm water diving. That said, the bladder gave up on my Zuma after about 800 dives, which is far more than your average diver would use it, but less than a busy instructor might. It also does not have frills, like big metallic D-rings, but I found the smaller plastic ones to be durable and plentiful enough for my needs. I would highly recommend this BCD for people who travel and enjoy lightweight back-inflate BCDs.

Comments about Aqualung Zuma Travel BC:

I've used my Zuma in tropical waters. I like how it's so light weight and easy to pack. It has no metal back plate so it's easy to fit in a suitcase. A few of the straps in the front feel a bit flimsy to me, but this is my first wing BCD after 6 years of diving with rented BCDs. It's very adjustable. I usually suffer from lower back pain but with this BCD I didn't get a back ache after 6 dives.

Comments about Aqualung Zuma Travel BC:

My son and I both use Zuma BCs and just replaced his only because he out grew his last one, as he certified at 16 yrs. old.
These are great for traveling and so easy to dive with!! We travel many places out of the USA and the size of the BC allows us to hand carry our dive gear onto the plane, thus saving any extra baggage charges. My BC has been thru out the Florida Keys many times, all over the eastern and western Caribbean (to many islands to list) including Bonaire and Belize, and Hawaii... and still going strong!!!!
