This is the perfect bag for my needs.
Whenever I go on a scuba trip I use two bags, a mesh bag to carry my wet gear on the boat and to the diving resort, and another GEAR bag to carry all my diving accesories in it at the airport.
This bag can hold my mesh bag plus:
BCD, reg and octo, wetsuits, 2 pairs of fins, boots, snorkel, mask, u/w camera housing and flash (secured inside another bag of course)
thats all I needed and thats all I'll do, great bag.

Straight up, I really liked this bag out of the box. Light, nice extension handle, one big compartment. Unfortunately the shortcomings came fast and furious. No grab handle on the extension handle end means you have to either grab the extension handle and hope it holds, or reach over and get the straps.

Second problem. One the very first flight, a corner of the bag popped its stitches for about an inch. Unbelievable. One flight. On the second flight, the hole grew to two inches. I was going to pop rivet a grab handle on the bag, but given how frail it is, looks like I'll try something else. Maybe a Stahlsac this time.

Comments about AquaLung Traveler 850 Roller Duffle:

This is a very good bag to take dive gear on a trip. It is durable, good quality, and light weight. It is just the right size to load 50# of dive gear, with some effort. A major inconvenience with this bag is that there is no top carrying handle. This makes handling during travel difficult. The center carrying straps have a velcro closer to keep the straps together. It never holds. This causes handlers to lift with one of these straps, almost guarantees ripping. I added a strap with a buckle that holds.

Great warm weather travel bag: just the right size for 1-2 week trip, all dive gear and some clothes, well padded, solid construction. Note: not for the dive boat--bring a mesh gear bag for on the water.

Comments about AquaLung Traveler 850 Roller Duffle:

This is a great bag. This is awesome for traveling. This is not a boat bag IMHO. It could be but you are better getting a mesh duffel for that. I placed a Zeagle Ranger LTD size XL, Atomic smoke on the water fins size XL, Atomic T2X regulator, Atomic Cobalt computer, Oceanic VT4.1 wrist computer, Atomic Venom ARC mask and SV2 snorkel, 3mm wetsuit 2XL, Lavacore Long sleeve rash guard, pants and Shorts size XL, Sola 800 dive light, various gear keepers, spare air and save a dive kit. 46 lbs. There was room for a few shirts and shorts but I put that in a different bag.

              Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Shelley R  I had seen these at another dive shop and was looking for a bag that would fit my gear and clothing. This bag is wonderful.. Very roomy, but be careful not to over fill to meet the 50lb limit.
robin m  will it hold a set of atomic split fins (large size) without bending?
DAVID H  Yes, I dive with Atomic split fins and they fit in the side pockets without a problem. I found that a fin first vs. a heel first goes into the pocket better for me.
Elizabeth S  i have an older version of this bag which does not have a padded handle on the TOP (opposite the hard handle on the bottom), but I was at an airport recently and saw a newer one that DID have a padded handle on the top (not just a pull strap). AS this one is sold NOW, does it have a padded handle on the TOP or not? It is not clear, or seen, in the photo.
Elizabeth S  thank you. very helpful.
