About Tusa Compass/Pressure Analog Console (SCA-270), New Design

New for 2012 is TUSA's Compass/Pressure Analog Gauge. The rugged easy to read pressure gauge has color coded pressure readout for added safety. The gauge measures pressure from 0 to 5,000 psi. The 0 to 500 psi section is colored in bright red to denote reserve air, the 1,000 to 5,000 psi section is color coded in blue. Pressure gauge is also equipped with a thermometer measuring temperature from 0 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The gauge is incased in an impact resistant boot with an eyelet for attachment of a lanyard or clip. HP hose is 7/16" threaded.

The Compass is liquid filled for a smooth, fast reacting compass heading. Compass is equipped with both top and side scan reading for gun sight accuracy. The ratcheted rotating bezel has compass headings in 30 degrees numbered increments and indicator marks for every 10 degrees. Bezel has twin heading indicators for alignment of compass course, and a lubber line across the compass face. TUSA is the first company in the world to incorporate Lumi-Nova light storage dials. This groundbreaking innovation offers several times the brightness of conventional dials, as well as longer luminescence times. The entire face glows bright enough to make it ideal for night diving or diving in dark areas but contains no radioactive materials. Gauges come with a 12 month limited warranty.

Bought this as my first console and it worked out perfect during night dives and navigation dives. It is the only two gauge console I could find with a compass so if you are okay with using your computer as your depth gauge it works out perfectly.

This is a good value. The orientation of the compass is not ideal. It could be better positioned to make it easier to read.

Comments about Tusa Compass/Pressure Analog Console (SCA-270), New Design:

Connected this to the new regulator I bought, turned the tank valve before even diving eith either, and immediately the gauge had little bits of what looked perhaps like silicon? tumbling around inside. I was even less impressed when I saw the next day that some liquid or perhaps oil as the local dive shop manager suggested from the gauge workings was spattered against the inside the against the glass/plastic. Needless to say I was in-impressed. I find it kind of unlikely this was missed in testing, so I am going to assume they did no testing...

            Shopper  is it nitrox compatable?
            Kasia W  Yes, it is.
Shopper  What is the diameter of the pressure guage (not including the thickness of the housing which the guage "puck" is in) ? Also, I am believing that the console connection to the hose permits the console to swivel completely around. Am I correct on that?
