About TUSA Conquest Buoyancy BCD (BCJ-7000C)

TUSA's BCJ-7000C Conquest II is the latest in BC technology incorporating a Hybrid 3-D Cubic Bladder design and TUSA's Advanced Weight Loading System (A.W.L.S II). The BCJ-7000C features a new harness system providing ultimate tank stability and unsurpassed buoyancy control. The Conquest II comes standard with TUSA's A.P.A. (Active Purge Assist) System and enhanced lumbar and back pad for maximum comfort. In addition, the Conquest offers several features including 4 dump valves (OPEV + 3), 4 Stainless & 4 Resin D-rings, knife grommets, 4 zippered pockets, fold down mesh pocket and a retractor shoulder pocket.

The 3-D Hybrid Cubic Air Cell combines the features of a wrap-around style BCJ and a back-inflation BCJ into a unique streamlined hybrid design. The air cell offers increased lift capacity over standard back-inflation jackets and a more streamlined, comfortable fit underwater and on the surface. The BCD provides between 36 lbs. and 49.5 lbs. (16.3 kg to 22.4 kg) of lift capacity depending on size. TUSA's 2'nd generation Advanced Weight Loading System (AWLS II) allows the diver to insert weights into the weight-cartridges and loading them easily into the front of the BC jacket. Additionally, with weight distribution to the shoulder area, the weighted-down feeling that is traditionally associated with weight belts is eliminated. Weight cartridges can accommodate 8 lbs. to 10 lbs. (3.63 kg to 4.54 kg) of weight in each cartridge and two rear trim pockets can hold up to 4 lbs. (2 kg) in each non-releasable pocket. The AWLS weight cartridges are easy to release in an emergency, but the safety lock makes sure that they do not release accidentally.

The Rite Tite Buckle is a 2-position cylinder cam strap for quick-and-easy adjustment. While the strap is being looped through the buckle, the buckle stays in place without needing to be held. This allows for more control and stability. TUSA's Ultimate Stabilizing Harness completely eliminates tank roll and delivers an amazing fit. The U.S.H. securely holds the air cylinder in place with optimally placed rails and brings the tank closer to the body increasing tank control while reducing weight.

Torso-adjustable shoulder and sternum straps provide excellent comfort along with an adjustable waist strap with cummerbund provides precise adjustment of harness. All straps are equipped with squeeze-style" side-release buckles for easy donning and doffing. The Conquest II BCD has an enhanced lumbar and back pad for maximum comfort. Exclusive to TUSA, the Active Purge Assist is a pneumatically assisted power inflator. Using a piston, the power inflator activates a stainless steel cable connected to the shoulder dump valve. The APA assures a quick response when deflating air from the BC. The Conquest II is built to last manufactured from durable 840D and 420D nylon fabrics. The BCD comes with a 3/8" threaded low pressure hos with quick disconnect for inflation and an owner's manual.

The TUSA Conquest Buoyancy BCD (BCJ-7000C) is commonly used for Recreation, Warm Water and more. Advanced Purge Assist is included!

If you plan to order the BCD, note that it comes with the new Active Purge Assist (APA). The product description in LeisurePro said "available with the new APA System" and the APA appeared in the list of recommended accessories so I ordered it separately ... now I have 2! I am impressed by the features and design of the BCD. I will provide more details once I try it!

A Very Solid BC with Lots of Pros

from Port Washington, WI, US

I'm very happy with this BC. I have five dives on it so far. Pros: Solid construction. Stainless steel D rings. Very adjustable strap locations. Inflator is easy to use and has the power deflater button as well. Being a hybrid design, it has the surface flotation characteristics of a vest BC (i.e., it doesn't flip you face down) and the at-depth characteristics of a back inflated wing. The integrated weight pockets are easy to load, and there are two pockets in the rear to balance the weight. The dump valves are in the power inflator, shoulders, and at the base in the back on both sides. It's also quite comfortable and easy to don and doff. Cons: It's s tad heavy (just a tad) and it has a limits to how flat you can pack it. I was able to pack it for my trip to Hawaii, but this is not a compact, travel BC and it took up a lot of room. I am VERY pleased with it, I would buy it again, and I am quite a bit more likely to select TUSA products over unknown manufacturers because of my experience with this BC.

Excellent BC

from Silverdale , WA, US

Preformes we'll both underwater and on the surface.

Very good,a little loose on the waist

Unbelievably fast, very responsive, and great at doing the exchange.

Great Product

Excellent BC. Very comfortable and great weight locking system. Lots of extra pockets and good ring placement. I installed an alternate air source at the end of the inflater hose. I just finished diving in Curacao for one week and it performed flawlessly. This BC is very well constructed and I would highly recommend it. The price for this BC on Leisure Pro is a fair price.

Great all around BC

I'm new to diving, so I'll preface this by admitting that I've only used 3 or 4 other BCs (during certification classes), all of which were fairly old and heavily worn. But, with that out of the way, I can say with no hesitation that I love this BC. Extremely comfortable, both in and out of the water. Supportive enough that I can walk around on land, with my tank on, and not really think anything of it. Under the water, it's very easy to use, with plenty of easily accessible D-rings and pockets. Material seems durable enough to last over the long term. Integrated weight system works great and never gets in the way. Only downside to it is that it does seem just a tad bulky, but not excessively so. I've had some other divers ask to try it out for a dive, and they've all said they were pleasantly surprised by it.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Bill W  Good other customer reviews
BILL S  Careful The knife and light set are not included in package price.
Ira W  Does this BC inflate in the front as well as the back?
Scott S  Yes. The aircell is both in the back and the sides. This is great for being horizontally trim underwater and upgright when on the surface.
Ira W  Scott, thanks for the reply. I bought the best for my wife and she is looking forward to using it this weekend
COLLINS G  Yes it does
DARWIN R  It inflates all around you. I haven't had mine for a couple years now and it has been great.
Jorge P  Yes, the front inflate as well as the back.
Joseph C  I just want to confirm if this BC will not push me over being a hybrid..?
Angelo F  Joseph- the conquest BC is about 80% back inflation... It will push you forward if you overweight yourself and require a lot of air to stay comfortable above the water line... If you are properly weighted then you will notice little push over... It also comes with back weight pockets to help stableize
stephanie c  This is Shawn , my wife actually bought that for me. Have only used this bcd in the pool so far, using in Socal next month. Haven't had any problems with it and as far as I know haven't heard anyone else having that problem. One of the local dive shops actually using the conquest as there training bcds for open water. Hope this helped.
Jorge P  This BCD will keep your body with great stability on the surface, and the same will happen underwater, best BCD I bought in years!
